* IJustWantToBeSpecial: Like Meowth, he someday dreams of speaking human. He knows it's possible thanks to Meowth and the Shamouti Slowking, but he just doesn't know how yet.

* TheResenter: Doesn't appreciate Ash's training style and will actively disobey him in a fight. This has made him fairly unreliable in higher challenges.

* CompositeCharacter: While this fanfic is definitely focused on the main anime itself, it has borrowed some elements from his movie 20-and-beyond incarnation, mainly starting out not being a huge inexperienced rookie and picking up the Rainbow Wing that set off the plot of Anime/PokemonIChooseYou Movie

* FightingYourGod: In addition to the Mt Tensei (Ho-Oh, Fire and Flying) and First Movie incidents (Mewtwo, Psychic); when he suspects that a shadow below Lapras is a legendary he tells Lapras not to worry, because if it comes to a fight, the Legendary is probably a Water type... So he'll have an advantage.

* TheBusCameBack: Returns after the events of [[spoiler: Shamouti.]]

* DareToBeBadass: Most of his allies end up getting a pep talks from either him or one of his legendary chat buddies to this effect.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: All of them ''currently'' don't know about Ash being friends with all the Legendaries.

* TheTrickster: She occasionally plays pranks on the rest of the legendary cast, such as when she sends pinkan berries disguised as bread balls to Johto legendaries and Arceus.

* SinkOrSwimMentor: Dude seems to regularly train Kaldeo from sun up to past midnight... Though he's just as active.

* BokeAndTsukkomiRoutine: with Zacian. He's the Wise Guy.

* VillainousBreakdown: Cross's reaction after [[spoiler: being defeated by Ash in the Trial of the Rainbow Hero Arc.]]

* ArrogantKungfuGuy: When it comes to Pokémon battles... But it really comes out when dealing with Ash.

* TheChosenOne: Ash is one obviously but even among TheChosenMany, he stands out. [[spoiler: Arceus and the Creation Trio discover that he is aurally linked to no less than ''eleven'' Legendaries, gets linked to the Bird Trio and Lugia during the Indigo League, and maybe more in the future. Arceus surmises that before Ash's life is out, he could eventually be aurally linked to ''all'' the Legendaries, making him not just "a" Chosen One, but *the* Chosen One]].

* ScissorsCutsRock: This Pikachu can use electric type attacks on Ground types and do a good amount of damage on them.

* PutOnABus: Like in the Anime, Butterfree is released to join his mate in Chapter 88/ Episode 78 (Bye Bye Butterfree) of the story. [[AdaptationDeviation The only difference is that this event occurs after Ash has beaten the Cinnabar Island gym]].

* FlyingBrick: Flying-type, strength trains by lifting Brock's Geodude, and for the League is wearing a Focus Sash.

* TheCynic: Is called the team's grump due to his own pessimism on humans.

* HatesBeingAlone: Charizard, when he was a Charmander, time and experience with Cross has given him extreme separation anxiety, and he gets extremely restless any time he's away from Ash. It sticks even after he evolves.
* PlayingWithFire: Ash's first fire type Pokemon he caught and used him pretty well.

* MakingASplash: Being a Water-Type Trainer and one of Cerulean City's Gym Leaders

* MageBornOfMuggles: A [[DownplayedTrope downplayed]] variant. Moltres has the same mother than his siblings (also a moltres), but unlike them, who also have legendary fathers of their respective species, his father was a talonflame. He notes that it is very rare for legendary/non-legendary couples to produce a legendary offspring.

* ExtremeOmnisexual: She claims to have had sex with every single other species of electric-types. The fact this would include robots like Regieleki would definitely put it in this trope.

* NotSoSimilar: A duo example. Despite being compared to Groudon and Kyogre with himself and Tornadus due to having a beleagured head legendary for a babysitter (Rayquaza for the Weather Trio and Landorous for the Forces of Nature), [[ArchEnemy the former two are often butting heads with each other most of the time,]] while latter two can cooperate with each other when the opportunity presents it (usually via tormenting humans).

* ScissorsCutRock: This Pikachu can use electric type attacks on Ground types and do a good amount of damage on them.

* CreepyGood: Described as "so nice to the point of it being akwardly creepy".

* BecauseItAmusedMe: Will stick around to heckle Zapdos... Otherwise will generally avoid the rest of the chat.

* AdaptationalHeroism: Unlike the anime, Charmander's evolution into Charmeleon does not turn him into a jerk, and he remains close to Ash the whole time. He does however, [[ClusterFBomb develop a potty mouth]].

* TheAllegedComputer: Takes up to 30 minutes to respond to a question, if you're lucky.

* JerkassWithAHeartOfGold: Sort of. He admits that Ash is impressive for a new trainer, and that a few of his fights are worth showing to Keldeo as examples to learn from, he just doesn't want Ash's adventures distracting from actual important lessons.

* AlliterativeName: Not with his name or normal handle, but his [[spoiler:legendary handle is binarybuoy.]]

* LikeFatherLikeSon: [[spoiler: got his sense of direction from his father, Lugia.]]

* PhoneaholicTeenager: Justified since Ash’s phone is his main connection to the Legendary chat, but a few people have noticed or called out on Ash for spending too much time on his device.

* ThemeNaming: while using his [[spoiler:legendary handle binarybouy sharing both the nautical themeing as well as the [[AlliterativeName alliteration]] with his father Lugia.]]

* SuperEmpowering: Whenever he's running on greater than normal charge... Ground Types beware. Turns out the reason Pikachu was capable of fending off those Spearow in his first battle with Ash is because the bolt of lightning he leapt into was sent by [[OlympusMons Zekrom]]. This supercharged Pikachu, which allowed him to (even in a weakened state) fend off the flock.
** Discussed and {{Jossed}} in regards to both Pikachu's zapping Ground types and his capacitance (ability to store Electrical Charge). The former ''no one'' has figured out yet and the latter is all his alone. It's nearly the size of Zekrom's.

* BeyondTheImpossible: As a Bug/Flying type, he helped beat Erika's gym for Ash with the Grass Type Move; Solar Beam. [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking And ended up exploding all the windows and setting the place on fire.]]

* FlyingBrick: Flying Type, strength trains by lifting Brock's Geodude, and for the League is wearing a Focus Sash.

* TheBerserker: Will not listen to ''anybody'' if he's fighting. He usually has to be forcefully removed from a fight, either by his pokeball or being being knocked out.

* SecretSecretKeeper: Knew that [[spoiler:Lugia was Ash's father]] the entire time. Something that not even [[spoiler:Lugia]] was aware she knew

* MrExposition: Invoked. He tends to give lengthy explanations on a lot of things.

* BigSecret: Has one involving Ash that he isn't ready to tell yet, though the other Legendaries already know.
** As of chapter 38 the secret is out, [[spoiler:he's Ash's father.]]
* TheConfidant: To Ash. He's often the one Ash speaks his insecurities to privately... Once he stops avoiding Ash.

* TooDumbToFool: Realizes that he and Zacian as a Fighting and Fairy type respectively are not the best equipped to deal with the (Poison) Darkest Day. ([[SubvertedTrope The train of thought basically stops there though]].)

* PhoneaholicTeenager: Justified since Ash’s phone is his main connection to the legendary chat, but a few people have noticed or called out on Ash for spending too much time on his device.

* ScrewDestiny: He takes this view in an unhealthy way which sets off the [[spoiler: Mewtwo Strikes Back Arc]], wanting to define himself in some way unrelated to Mew. He takes on a healthier version this afterwards.

* PalsWithJesus: Ash is pretty much friends with most of the Legendary Pokémon due to meeting them before and during his journey.

* TheGhost: in the first story (And likely until Battle Frontier).

* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Latias is an irresponsible brat at the best of times, but the moment she sees that the Viridian Gym hurts trainers that get hurt, she ''immediately'' attempts to hack in and stop it.

* {{Railroading}}: Despite warnings from the other mods, Latias is always trying to get Ash to go where she wants him to go, rather than let him play out his own journey. She's often walking on thin ice with them because of it.

* TheGhost: in the first story (And likely until Hoenn).

* RootingForTheEmpire: Due to their ''insane'' determination to catch Pikachu, Azelf has a lot of respect for the Rocket trio.

* TheQuietOne: Hasn't spoken much.

* GodsHandsAreTied: Sets down this rule. Part of it is because it would be ''bad'' if legendaries were seen helping one specific person, and part of it is simply that he wants to watch Ash grow without (much) outside assistance. [[spoiler: The "unless there is no other option" part has only come into play twice, both of which involve Ash's death.]]

* RiddlingSphinx: Gets a scene to help Ash find the Cinnabar Gym, reasoning

* TheLoner: Would really rather just be left alone.
* TheQuietOne: Doesn't care about Ash or other legendaries, and thus doesn't use the chat much.

* EvilIsPetty: Nearly set off a climate disaster in the Orange Islands... Because Art and the other Kanto Birds were watching Ash's Indigo League Tournament.

* LivingLieDetector: They give him a headache. However, ExactWords can get around this, as [[spoiler: the story presented by Arceus and backed up by others did not alert Reshiram at all.]]

* PungeonMaster: [[cinnamon:'''unabatedStimulus''']] (Tapu Koko) is pretty much this, much to the chagrin of most of the Legendaries.

* AbusiveParents: Or rather Abusive Trainer. He is the original trainer of Ash's Charizard whom he abandoned for being too weak.
