Conan, Ran and Kogoro get lost in the middle of a trip and knock on the door of a creepy BigFancyHouse. It turns out the owner is the manga artist Reiki Hirasaka, a friend of a person they helped before (TV producer Kouji Yatsukawa), and he and some other friends also affiliated to entertainment circles are holding a séance to invoke the spirit of Kira Miyahara, a beautiful IdolSinger who died a while ago, so they escape a supposed curse that has already costed another person their life. It's not enough, however: two of the attendants die, and both murder scenes are locked mystery room types! All of this is related to the mysterious Kira, whose body never was found... Is her spirit murdering those who were involved in her death? Is she alive and hiding, ready to attack the rest as revenge for whatever they did to her? Or is one of the attendants the real murderer, again in the name of revenge?

While Kogoro looks for Shigeko's stalker, Conan is stuck taking care of her child Santa, a really sweet but ''really'' hyperactive toddler who loves snooping around. In this case Conan, Ai and the Detective Boys's CoolTeacher Kobayashi takes the spotlight alongside Inspector Shiratori. They have just met and [[ShipTease seem to be getting along pretty well]] as the summer goes on, [[spoiler: specially since Shiratori has realised that ''she'' was his [[SingleTargetSexuality "girl of destiny"]] instead of Sato]], but [[CannotSpitItOut it seems their advances will be rather slow]]. All of a sudden, however, things change: Kobayashi steps into the murder of a particularly dangerous LoanShark during a summer festival, the one who did this person in is on the loose, ''and'' Shiratori is the one in charge of the investigation...

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Kodama, who's got very dark skin. Probably thanks to [[spoiler: having been a once very promising baseball player]] and thus exercising a LOT outdoors.

* LadyLooksLikeADude: Sumida has such manly looks that, when her photo is shown around after her death, the only thing that proves her gender is how she buttons her blouse. And being mistaken for a guy was her BerserkButton.
* LoanShark: Sumida was technically a pawn shop owner, but she also loaned money and then was super abusive to the poor saps who didn't pay in time or didn't meet her expectatives. [[spoiler: When she tried to [[FinancialAbuse force Kodama to get a life insurance so she'd kill him and get the money from it]], that caused him to snap and kill her.]]
* RichBitch: Ryouko Takimoto, another of the suspects, is said to be from a very rich family. She's also super passive-aggressive when confronted.

But few hours later, the fashionable girl appears strangled to death in a public restroom! Since they're among the few who last saw her alive, Conan and Kogoro must find out who did her in. [[spoiler: Or more exactly, undo the alibi of their biggest suspect: the fashionable girl's best friend, Yuika Shudou.]]

A case that happens a short time after the aforementioned "Scar and the Whistling Man" one, focused on Inspector Ninzaburou Shiratori. He decides to take a break and go to the theater [[spoiler: after learning that Sato has definitely chosen Takagi over him]]; due to a mistake he ends up stuck not just with Conan, Ai and the Detective Kids (whom he mentions [[spoiler: his actually sympathetic reasons to chase after Sato]] to), but with a beautiful woman named Nami Kasakura, whom he takes quite a liking to. After the movie is over, Nami asks Shiratori for help against a StalkerWithACrush - but it's too late, since whoever this stalker is, s/he has beaten her boyfriend Yoshiro Soumei to death! Conan and Ai wonder if there are other explanations for the crime, however, and so does Shiratori...

* BecauseDestinySaysSo: Shiratori tells the kids and later Nami that he strongly believes in destiny. [[spoiler: The girl from his past [[ManicPixieDreamGirl changed his life so much for the best]] that he thinks she is his fated love, hence why he insists in courting Sato and later Nami, aka the ones he believes to be the grown-up version of said girl.]]

As its name says, this 2009 TV special is a crossover between ''Detective Conan'' and the legendary franchise, ''Franchise/LupinIII''. The Kingdom of Vespania has been thrown into turmoil after the deaths of its Queen and Crown Prince, and the crown is about to go to the Queen's youngest daughter Mira, a RebelliousPrincess [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating believed to be unfit to be the new sovereign]]. In an attempt to make her more popular, her advisor Count Keith arranges an official trip to Japan, and the paths of Princess Mira and her IdenticalStranger Ran Mouri end up crossing. Which ''also'' brings Conan into the fray, as not only he knows that his beloved Ran is playing the "princess" role for Mira, but he finds out that Lupin and his gang are planning a HUGE theft and they're hanging around Mira's entourage to get it done...

After giving a TV interview to make her case known, she has managed to narrow the search down to two men, and noww she wants Kogoro to find out which of them is the man from the past - but later they find out another prospect candidate! And at the same time, there's a hunt for a SerialKiller near the Shodou household...

* BatmanGambit: [[spoiler: Kurumi always knew that Taisuke was the guy who saved her, but was too humble to let it be known. The whole deal was her way to make him come forward.]]
* TheButlerDidIt: [[spoiler: What the butler Taisuke Hoya did was... saving Kurumi's life, harboring feelings for her, and being the guy she was looking for.]]

The second part of the Scar that Evokes the Past case is focused on the look for a SerialKiller that Matsumoto, Megure, Takagi and others are hunting down. The criminal psychologist Douji Hiramune, who also happens to be Ayumi's neighbor, challenges this murderer in live television... and soon is found dead, his lifeless body branded with a letter. This confuses the police, as it doesn't exactly fit what they thought to be the killer's usual M.O... but there are other hints scattered around, and it's up to Conan and the police to put them all together!

As a corollary, this is the case where [[spoiler: Wataru Takagi and Miwako Sato '''finally''' get their RelationshipUpgrade.]]

* AcheyScars: Matsumoto claims that when he [[spoiler: stepped into the Shodo home to confront Kusumoto (whom he believed to be the killer)]] and then when [[spoiler: he inspected the spot where Hiramune was killed]], he felt ''lots'' of pain in his infamous scar. [[spoiler: When Kibo is captured, not only he doesn't recognize Matsumoto but his scar doesn't hurt anymore, sorta "telling" Matsumoto to not hang onto ThatOneCase from then on.]]

After the movie is over, Nami asks Shiratori for help against a StalkerWithACrush - but it's too late, since whoever this stalker is, s/he has beaten her boyfriend Yoshiro Soumei to death! Conan and Ai wonder if there are other explanations for the crime, however, and so does Shiratori...

All of a sudden, however, things change: Kobayashi steps into the murder of a particularly dangerous LoanShark during a summer festival, the one who did this person in is on the loose, ''and'' Shiratori is the one in charge of the investigation...

Not only Conan, the Detective Kids and the whole Beika police department must find him before any of the trap's mechanisms activate and kill him, but they must also find out ''exactly'' why a person would hate someone like ''[[NiceGuy him]]'' enough to do such things...

So even if none of the trap's mechanisms activate, Takagi (who is only wearing a suit since the kidnapper took his coat away) will still freeze to death and this will probably take place under the snow. The feuding Torada and Tatsuo families respectively ask Kogoro and Heiji for help after each of their family members was killed under unusual circumstances, with centipede corpses beside their bodies being the only common theme. Both groups of detectives eventually meet and run into Kansuke Yamato, a police detective from Nagano prefecture who thinks the murders may be related to the death of a certain Kuroto Kai six years earlier. The following day, when Ayaka hears of Ran and Kazuha seeing the shadow of a UsefulNotes/TakedaShingen armor the previous night, she locks herself in the bathroom, only to go missing. The two families plus the protagonists and Yamato search for the missing woman, and the Nagano detective sees her hanged from a tree.

This case marked the debut of Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara, both officers (the latter being on her TenMinuteRetirement from the force at the time) from the Nagano Prefectural Police. * TenMinuteRetirement: Yui was in one from the Nagano police in this episode, though it turns out it was part of her investigation.

The horse apparently panicked and thus he was thrown off a cliff. This turns out to be a RedHerring, as fireworks weren't the reason the horse acted that way. Tatsue actually shot it and Kuroto was left to die at a shaded spot below the cliff, making him the first casualty of the ''Fuurinkazan'' serial murders and representing the ''in'' (shadow) part of ''Fuurinkazaninrai.'']]

On the heels of an investigation at a temple, Heiji brings Conan along for a televised event called the "Detectives Koshien" (Koshien meaning "Challenge"). Where four high-school detectives will be brought to mansion on an island to test their wits on a case. Other competitors included Saguru Hakuba, Natsuki Koshimizu, and Junya Tokitsu, with producer Hiroo Tsuchio and servant Renzo Koya on board for the production. Which also has a connection [[spoiler: from a previous case involving the death of a socialite.]] Kazuha has her suspicions of something wary going on at the island... [[spoiler: It turns out the show was a hoax, and a murder was involved.]]
