!!People from the Holmes's Revelation case (Diana Kingston, Venus the kitty, the Glass family, Ares Ashley, Hades Sabara, Hestia, Demeter Bauer)

The Holmes' Revelation Arc is one of climatic entries in the series. Not only does Shinichi return for some time, [[spoiler: he also (kind of) finally confesses to Ran he loves her.]] It's a dream come true for Conan when he finally gets to go to London, home of his hero, Sherlock Holmes. However, the fun is cut short when Apollo Glass, a little boy whose older sister Minerva knows Shinichi from somewhere, requests help. Meanwhile, [[LoveHurts Ran is questioning her love for Shinichi...]]

* DarkerAndEdgier: Hades Sabara's past deeds were so horrible that they had to be ''seriously'' {{bowdlerize}}d in the anime.
* DarkAndTroubledPast: Only in the manga. [[spoiler: After the death of his mother and his financial ruin, Hades Sabara murdered both the people hounding him for money ''and'' the friend who suggested he invest in the stock market. [[AndYourLittleDogToo And the friend's whole family.]] And he apparently ''[[HeartTrauma ripped their hearts out]]''.]]
* EveryoneHatesHades: In a roundabout way. Why else would you name the ''MadBomber SerialKiller'' after him?!
* HostageSituation: [[spoiler: Minerva is playing badly because of her mother's kidnapping. Subverted: she's trying to tell the detectives about her abducted mom ''without stopping to play''.]]
* ImprobableWeaponUser: [[spoiler: Minerva hits Hades with her tennis ball. Conan then grabs said ball and kicks it at him.]]
* LoveHurts: This is quite the emotional rollercoaster for Ran, as she starts to seriously doubt her and Shinichi's prospect relationship [[spoiler: after she misunderstands Minerva's "Love is zero" words as dis-encouragement, and a brief but awkward encounter with a temporarily normal Shinichi doesn't clear up anything.]]
* MadBomber: Hades Sabara and his accomplice Hestia.
* NoCelebritiesWereHarmed: Minerva and Demeter seems to be explicitly based on Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams.
* PassionateSportsGirl: Demeter and Minerva are both skilled tennis players

!!People from the Seance's Double Locked Mystery Room Case (Kouji Yatsukawa, Ryuichi Mifune, Shouko Utakura, Reiki Hirasaka, Maho Izumi, Kazuo Ohnogi, Yutaka Kani, Ichirou Sawanami, Kira Miyahara)

Conan, Ran and Kogoro get lost in the middle of a trip and knock on the door of a creepy BigFancyHouse. It turns out the owner is the manga artist Reiki Hirasaka, a friend of a person they helped before (TV producer Kouji Yatsukawa), and he and some other friends also affiliated to entertainment circles are holding a séance to invoke the spirit of Kira Miyahara, a beautiful IdolSinger who died a while ago, so they escape a supposed curse that has already costed another person their life. It's not enough, however: two of the attendants die, and both murder scenes are locked mystery room types! All of this is related to the mysterious Kira, whose body never was found... Is her spirit murdering those who were involved in her death? Is she alive and hiding, ready to attack the rest as revenge for whatever they did to her? Or is one of the attendants the real murderer, again in the name of revenge?

[[folder:People of the Timeless Sakura Love case]]

!!People of the Timeless Sakura Love (Akira Sumida, Kikuna Kagitani, Ryoko Takimoto, and Ryusuke Kodama)

In this case Conan, Ai and the Detective Boys's CoolTeacher Kobayashi takes the spotlight alongside Inspector Shiratori. They have just met and [[ShipTease seem to be getting along pretty well]] as the summer goes on, [[spoiler: specially since Shiratori has realised that ''she'' was his [[SingleTargetSexuality "girl of destiny"]] instead of Sato]], but [[CannotSpitItOut it seems their advances will be rather slow]]. All of a sudden, however, things change: Kobayashi steps into the murder of a particularly dangerous LoanShark during a summer festival, the one who did this person in is on the loose, ''and'' Shiratori is the one in charge of the investigation...

* AmbiguouslyBrown: Kodama, who's got very dark skin. Probably thanks to [[spoiler: having been a once very promising baseball player]] and thus exercising a LOT outdoors.
* BatterUp: [[spoiler: While Kodama stabbed Sumida with a knife, he later tried to "mess up" with Kobayashi with a baseball bat. Too bad [[BodyDouble the woman he attacked]] [[IdenticalStranger was actually]] [[ActionGirl Sato]]...]]
* BlatantLies: Noooo, Takimoto has ''NothingPersonal'' against the recently murdered Sumida-san, even after what she did!
Nothing, PassiveAggressiveKombat really! Ohohohoho!
* CareerEndingInjury: [[spoiler: Kodama had ''two'' of these. And after the second happened, Sumida began to pressure and threaten him...]]
* ADayInTheLimelight: For both Shiratori and Kobayashi. [[spoiler: And their RelationshipUpgrade.]]
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler: So Sumida wanted to kill Kodama? He ended up killing her instead.]]
* FatBitch: Sumida was a pretty much obese woman... and a completely ''rotten'' JerkAss. Did you know, in example, that [[spoiler: she claimed she had sold Kagitani's beautiful and super pricey ring already ''when she was actually wearing it'', and she did so ''in front of her'']]? * JapaneseDelinquents: Kikuna Kagitani was an infamous gang leaderess, and according to her declarations she can still easily summon more than 100 female delinquents to fight her battles. * LadyLooksLikeADude: Sumida has such manly looks that, when her photo is shown around after her death, the only thing that proves her gender is how she buttons her blouse. And being mistaken for a guy was her BerserkButton.
* LoanShark: Sumida was technically a pawn shop owner, but she also loaned money and then was super abusive to the poor saps who didn't pay in time or didn't meet her expectatives. [[spoiler: When she tried to [[FinancialAbuse force Kodama to get a life insurance so she'd kill him and get the money from it]], that caused him to snap and kill her.]]

Ohohohoho!

* ADayInTheLimelight: For both Shiratori and Kobayashi. [[spoiler: And their RelationshipUpgrade.]]
* TheDogBitesBack: [[spoiler: So Sumida wanted to kill Kodama? He ended up killing her instead.]]

[[folder:People from the Lupin III vs. Detective Conan TV special]]

!!People from the ''Anime/LupinIIIVsDetectiveConan'' TV special (Queen Sakura Aludia, Crown Prince Gill Cowell and Princess Mira Julietta Vespaland of Vespania; Count Keith Dan Stinger, Duke Gerard Musca Vespaland)

-->Queen Sakura Aludia Vespaland is voiced by: Creator/HirokoSuzuki
-->Prince Gill Cowell Vespaland is voiced by: Creator/JunFukuyama
-->Princess Mira Julietta Vespaland is voiced by: Creator/YuiHorie
-->Count Keith Dan Stiner is voiced by: Creator/HikaruMidorikawa

As its name says, this 2009 TV special is a crossover between ''Detective Conan'' and the legendary franchise, ''Franchise/LupinIII''. The Kingdom of Vespania has been thrown into turmoil after the deaths of its Queen and Crown Prince, and the crown is about to go to the Queen's youngest daughter Mira, a RebelliousPrincess [[ZeroPercentApprovalRating believed to be unfit to be the new sovereign]]. In an attempt to make her more popular, her advisor Count Keith arranges an official trip to Japan, and the paths of Princess Mira and her IdenticalStranger Ran Mouri end up crossing. Which ''also'' brings Conan into the fray, as not only he knows that his beloved Ran is playing the "princess" role for Mira, but he finds out that Lupin and his gang are planning a HUGE theft and they're hanging around Mira's entourage to get it done...

* {{Bowdlerize}}: For obvious reasons, this special has ''some'' less adult humor and FanService than it's usual in the ''Lupin III'' series.
* CherryBlossoms: One of these is vital to the plot, as it's underneath it that the royal MurderSuicide took place. [[spoiler: And later, Mira decides to take over when she's standing in front of it as well.]]
* CynicismCatalyst: Mira has both her mother and older brother as these.
* IdenticalStranger:
** Save for the hair/eye colors and their ethnicities, [[http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/File:Ran_and_Princess_Mira.jpg Ran and Mira]] look almost exactly alike. So Mira tries to make Ran her BodyDouble [[spoiler: and later Ran has to "continue" the charade for other reasons...]]
** Also, Prince Gill looked like Shinichi but as a blue-eyed blond. This isn't commented upon, probably because Gill is a PosthumousCharacter and to avert any... weird implications.
* MacGuffin: Two, actually!:
** The beautiful and unvaluable Crown of Vespania, which Lupin intends to steal. [[spoiler: In reality, he had stolen it already years ago, but returned it when the then recently crowned Sakura (who had a CelebCrush on Lupin) found out; then, he made her promise she'd be TheHighQueen from then on in exchange for returning it.]]
** Also [[spoiler: some really rare mineral ores that were found in Vespanian soil, which thanks to their "complete stealth powers" [[InvisibilityCloak may make things totally invisible to any radars.]] Queen Sakura really didn't want to use these ores inadequately (i.e., for warfare) and refused to exploit them, so her greedy brother Duke Gerard killed her to take a hold on them.]]
* PosthumousCharacter: Queen Sakura and Prince Gill, who died few months before the special takes place.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Two of these [[spoiler: and probably three]]:
** Count Keith is the leader of the Parliament and holds an UndyingLoyalty to Sakura, so he does what he can to help Mira out. [[spoiler: Even if it involves pretty much kidnapping Ran to force her to stay as Mira's BodyDouble a little longer.]]
** Queen Sakura was one when she was alive, [[spoiler: so she [[NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished got murdered]] by Gerard for doing what she believed to be the right thing.]]
** [[spoiler: The new Queen Mira will probably turn out to be one as well, specially after all of these adventures.]]
* PrettyLittleHeadshots: ... There's ''no'' way Gill could have shot himself in the head with a hunting rifle and have just a tiny fatal wound.

* IdenticalStranger:
* MacGuffin: Two, actually!:
* RoyalBrat: Princess Mira doesn't have a lot of respect for authority and can be pretty selfish and entitled. It's stated by Keith and [[spoiler: Fujiko]] that [[UsedToBeASweetKid she wasn't like that originally]], but became this [[BrokenBird out of the deep trauma she suffered]] [[OrphansOrdeal after losing her mother and brother]], rather than anything else. The second part of the Scar

The criminal psychologist Douji Hiramune, who also happens to be Ayumi's neighbor, challenges this murderer in live television... and soon is found dead, his lifeless body branded with a letter. * GoodScarsEvilScars: One of the few concrete clues about the killer is that he has a large scar across his back. [[spoiler: And it was given to him by ''Matsumoto'', who snatched away his katana right after the EyeScream incident and wounded him.]] Also toyed with: [[spoiler: after killing Hiramune, Nabei Jr. saw the scar itself on Hiramune's back and used his knife to carve a "Z" there, to cover up said scar and throw the police off.]]

* ItsPersonal: Two of the reasons why Kiyonaga Matsumoto is so Hell-bent into catching this particular killer are linked to the trope. One: [[spoiler: during the early investigations of the crime, the killer used his car to fatally strike his partner/Megure's mentor, [[ForgottenFallenFriend Superintendent Morimura]], who [[DiedInyourArmstonight perished in Matsumoto's arms]]

* NoodleIncident: Just exactly what [[spoiler: Hiramune said to the other victims that he couldn't risk being revealed and murdered them over.]]
* OutGambitted: [[spoiler: Hiramune, and how. Who would've thought that his arrogant declarations, made to throw suspicions off himself and look good while at it, would bring him his downfall?]]
* PocketProtector: [[spoiler: What saved Takagi's life was the mahjong tile he had in his chest pocket, which blocked the bullet shot at him. (Though he still was injured enough to need hospitalization.) Shiratori keeps it later, and [[LampshadeHanging can't help commenting how cliché the situation is]].]]
* RedHerring: Sayuri Midway through the case, [[spoiler: an ex-con named Dokurou Kibo is believed to be the culprit since he always had verbal spats with the victims in a mahjong parlor and, at some point, openly gunned for their deaths.]] [[spoiler: The SerialKiller of the past was actually ''Hiramune'', who ''also'' was the guy who both ran Morimura over and Arai.later gave Matsumoto his scar; Kibo couldn't be the murderer because, by the time Nabei was murdered, he ''already'' was in jail for other crimes. The definitive proof comes from him showing no reaction to Matsumoto, the man he supposedly "scarred" with a katana.]]
* SlashedThroat: Three of the four victims of the past died like this. (The other, a certain policeman who was on the case, was ran over in the streets.) Then, Hiramune was murdered in exactly the same way. [[spoiler: Because he ''was'' the killer of the past, and the killer of the present was the son of one of the victims. KarmicDeath, anyone?]]
* SmugSnake: '''Hiramune''', holy crap.
* StatuteOfLimitations: The last case of the SerialKiller is juuuust three days away from being definitely archived, which is the ''other'' reason why Matsumoto wants to catch the culprit that badly. Detective Takagi begins to act a little oddly during winter, and seems to have many thoughts in his head. The feuding Torada and Tatsuo families respectively ask Kogoro and Heiji for help after each of their family members was killed under unusual circumstances, with centipede corpses beside their bodies being the only common theme. Both groups of detectives eventually meet and run into Kansuke Yamato, a police detective from Nagano prefecture who thinks the murders may be related to the death of a certain Kuroto Kai six years earlier. The following day, when Ayaka hears of Ran and Kazuha seeing the shadow of a UsefulNotes/TakedaShingen armor the previous night, she locks herself in the bathroom, only to go missing. The two families plus the protagonists and Yamato search for the missing woman, and the Nagano detective sees her hanged from a tree.

This case marked the debut of Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara, both officers (the latter being on her TenMinuteRetirement from the force at the time) from the Nagano Prefectural Police.
