* FatalFlaw: It's clear that Zeus biggest flaw is his inability to rein in his passions, which makes him rash and prone to breaking his own laws. His other biggest flaw is his bias in favor of his illegitimate children while spurning his wife Hera.

* {{Forgiveness}}: Despite everything the gods and Seraphim did to him, [[spoiler:in the climax of season 2 he's willing forgive, but not forget, all of the past actions by the gods if it means bringing back peace]].

to:

* DrunkWithPower: After gaining access to his father's thunder powers, his already existing temper becomes much more dangerous and he has difficulty holding back now that he can just kill nearly anything that angers him. He notes to Alexia that he finally understands why Seraphim couldn't give up his demonic powers, and tries to avoid using his own powers because he doesn't want to turn out like him.

* GoodIsNotSoft: He eventually develops into this. When he decides to [[spoiler:forgive the gods and restore balance]], one of Hades' shadows tries to take it as an opening and Heron just blasts him into dust.
--> '''Heron''': Don't mistake my kindness for weakness.

* PutOnABus: Midway through Season 2, he hears that one of his old associates is in trouble and leaves to help her.

* AnimalMotifs: Crows.

to:

* AnimalMotifs: Crows.Crows, which she uses to spy on the mortal world.

* BlamingTheVictim: True to mythology, she blames Electra for Zeus' affair and calls her a "whore" for it. Never mind that Electra only slept with Zeus (at least at first) because he was [[BedTrick disguised as her husband]].

* DisproportionateRetribution: While her anger at Zeus' philandering is more than justified, she crosses well beyond that into abusing the women and children of his affairs and even threatening all of Olympus out of revenge. Gaia even lampshades it, telling her that she took Zeus' actions to the opposite extreme.

* EntitledToHaveYou: In flashback, he doesn't accept Persophone rejecting hus advances and even [[AttemptedRape attempts to ravish her]].

* RedEyesTakeWarning: He's the only olympian Olympian god with red eyes and he's violent, brutish and short-tempered.

to:

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: [[spoiler:In season 2, he runs into a cloud of poison and rapidly runs back to Olympus to recover. What he didn't realize was that they were a cloud of spores, engineered by Demeter to weaken the gods, and he brought them back to everyone else.]]

* EvilIsPetty: Demeter is downright petty when it comes to Hades and never misses an opportunity to make his life worse, no matter how small. When he and Persephone meet up in Olympus at Zeus' funeral she pulls her away because it's spring, she destroys a tree Persephone grew for Hades just to make a point, and she tells Persephone that the fungal plague was Hades' idea when in reality Hades objected to it.

* JerkassHasAPoint: As deeply unpleasant as she is, she has a point about how the gods have no moral backbone and only respect power.

* AfraidOfTheirOwnStrength: She briefly holds the Eleusinian Stone to protect it, and is terrified by her own power and eager to give it back up to Gaia. Given how all the other gods fight over it, it's a mark of rare restraint and Gaia respects her for it.

* EverybodyHatesHades: Downplayed. On the one hand, he is once again the antagonist in a classic mythology work, seeking to steal the Eleusinian Stone for his own purposes. On the other, he's a TragicVillain who only wants it to reunite his family, which makes him come off as much more sympathetic than [[JerkassGods most of the other gods]] just vying for power it holds.

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: [[spoiler:By stabbing Heron, he made Gaia angry and she released Typhon from it's imprisonment to punish the gods.]]

to:

* NiceJobFixingItVillain: NiceJobBreakingItHero: Or rather, TragicVillain. [[spoiler:By stabbing Heron, he made Gaia angry and she released Typhon from it's its imprisonment to punish the gods.]]
