* NoGoodDeedGoesUnpunished: He and his Kyoka Suigetsu were ''instrumental'' in finally helping kill Yhwach, being just what was needed to subvert his Almighty even for a second. His reward? Right back into his prison, bound to the chair to carry out his remaining 20,000 years? To be fair, would ''you'' let [[EvilGenius him]] loose even after his aid?

* HiddenAgendaVillain: Gin never really expressed much interest in what Aizen was doing. Aizen himself even seemed suspicious of Gin every now and then, causing a lot of fan speculation as to what he was really trying to do. [[spoiler:He never quite makes it to AmbiguouslyEvil since he's just too much of a dick, but he was actually trying to assassinate Aizen.]]

* ImpromptuTracheotomy: Hisagi ultimately defeats him by stabbing his unreleased Zanpakuto into his head, then releasing its Shikai so the scythe comes out of his throat. His Hollowfication allows him to continue breathing, but he's still out of action afterwards.

* CurbStompBattle: He has such a unique level of power that even captains are no match for him. Even when several attack together, he has no trouble instantly defeating them. Some characters like Komamura and Shinji openly acknowledge that charging at him without a plan is tantamount to suicide. Thus, nearly every single fight for him in the series was a CurbStompBattle.
** This actually becomes a plot point in regards to Ichigo, who he defeated so quickly at the end of the Soul Society arc that he didn't bother to set him up for hypnosis. [[spoiler:Aizen would eventually suffer this trope himself by Ichigo.]]

* EnemyMine: When Yhwach sees Aizen leap in to attack him after Renji is defeated, Yhwach assumes that Aizen has allied himself with Ichigo and Renji against him and claims its evidence of Aizen being the kind of loser that Aizen usually detests. Aizen's willingness to team up with Ichigo, Renji and Uryuu is, he claims, nothing more than a resolve to never be controlled by anyone.

* HazyFeelTurn: So he goes up against [[spoiler:Yhwach]] not because he turns good, but because he doesn't want to be controlled by anyone. He also loses his power craze and starts using his Shikai again.
