* TheDreaded: Botar is feared amongst the Order of Mata Nui, not for his strength necessarily since it's indicated multiple different members could take him in a straight fight, but for his [[KnightTemplar single-minded devotion to the Order's mission]] meaning he can't be dissuaded once he decides you're someone who deserves to get sent to the Pit.

* KnightTemplar: Botar is ''completely'' dedicated to the Order's cause and views their goals as the will of Mata Nui himself. As such, anyone who the Order deems a criminal to send to the Pit is someone Botar views as BeyondRedemption, and he'll threaten those who object to his actions (like when Teridax protests Botar stopping his execution of the Barraki, or Axonn trying to plead an unconscious Brutaka's case) with the same punishment if they impede him.

* PetTheDog: When Brutaka summoned him to the Pit to take the Staff of Artakha away from Teridax, Botar stayed just long enough to give the former Order member a nod of thanks. Impressive, considering Botar's ''very'' dim view of traitors to the Order.

* PalsWithJesus: Significantly {{downplayed|Trope}}, but the Order seems to be at least somewhat aware of the will of Mata Nui. Most notably, while Mata Nui arranges the stars as part of his BatmanGambit to [[GambitPileup trick Makuta into influencing Toa Lhikan to choose the correct Toa Metru]], the Order assists with selling the deception by fabricating evidence indicating that the Great Disk Matoran are the destined Toa Metru.

* StraightManAndWiseGuy: Apparently, every duo in the Order ends up like this-Axonn and Brutaka, Mazeka and Jerbraz, and Mazeka and Tobduk, with Axonn and Mazeka serving as the Straight Men to Brutaka and Jerbraz's Wise Guys, while Mazeka becomes the Wise Guy to Tobduk's Straight Man. Trinuma also becomes the Straight Man to Vezon's Wise Guy when taking him to Destral.

* UnreliableNarrator: As [[AllThereInTheManual the guidebook]] ''BIONICLE World'' is an Order of Mata Nui document InUniverse, it retroactively contains several examples after [[TheReveal revelations]] that were made in the next real-world year after it was released:
** The Artakha chapter includes a short discussion about the first Toa, mentioning that she was a Toa of Water but her name has been lost to history. Said Toa is in fact Helryx (see below), the founder and leader of the Order...and thus very likely the InUniverse author of ''BIONICLE World'', as it was written by a founding member of the Order and she's the only founding member mentioned in the story, thus also making this a possible case of ButHeSoundsHandsome.
** The Daxia chapter asserts that "We will not recruit Toa, Turaga, or Matoran...Ex-Dark Hunters or former servants of the Brotherhood of Makuta are also not welcome in our ranks," which is three lies back-to-back, although at least some of them can be {{Hand Wave}}d:
*** The Matoran Mazeka became an Order spy about five years prior to the Destiny War. He's even involved in an Order mission to save fellow Matoran Krakua's life (see below).
*** Toa Krakua is also involved with the Order, although he's probably not an official member. Helryx explicitly claims that the Order "arranged" for him to achieve his destiny and transform into a Toa. The deviation from official Order recruitment policy is {{lampshade|Hanging}}d by Axonn when he meets Krakua and learns of his affiliation with the Order:
---->'''Axonn''': I see recruiting standards have slipped a little.
*** Brutaka is a former lieutenant in the armies of Makuta, as revealed in [[AllThereInTheManual the updated Encyclopedia]]. This can be {{Hand Wave}}d if one supposes that the ban on recruiting former Brotherhood servants was instituted after Brutaka joined the Order.
*** As it turns out, [[spoiler:the Dark Hunter codenamed "Ancient" is a DoubleAgent for the Order, although he's almost certainly not an official Order member either]].
** The Zakaz chapter mentions that the Makuta responsible for the Skakdi's mutations has also had his name lost to time. As it turns out, said Makuta (Spiriah) has been in Order custody for an unknown length of time, and Brutaka at least knows his name.

* TheChainsOfCommanding: While she won't hesitate to make decisions that she knows may send Order agents to their deaths, she never makes them lightly.

* GodzillaThreshold: {{Invoke|dTrope}}s this during a conversation with Takanuva, as she knows that she's about to initiate the Destiny War and she needs all the help she can get against the Brotherhood of Makuta.
-->'''Helryx''': We are in a war. Maybe we have been since the day the Brotherhood struck down Mata Nui. And in a war, you don't always get to choose your allies or test them first to make sure they are good and pure enough. [[EnemyMine I would recruit Dark Hunters and Pit prisoners if I thought it would bring the Makuta down.]]
* GoodIsNotNice: Easily the most abrasive Toa of Water seen in the story, and while her heart is unquestionably in the right place, some of her actions can easily verge on KnightTemplar territory.
* IDidWhatIHadToDo: Pretty much her life philosophy in a nutshell.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: She's incredibly rude to pretty much everyone, including her brother Toa, but she's absolutely devoted to carrying out the will of Mata Nui.

* PoliteVillainsRudeHeroes: She briefly shares this dynamic with the rogue Toa Tuyet -- incidentally a fellow Toa of Water -- when they unexpectedly reunite.

* ThouShaltNotKill: Averted with Helryx. She doesn't follow the Toa Code because she was created before it even existed. It's also why she made the Order. She ordered the deaths of all who knew the location of Artakha, including several members of the Order, [[spoiler:and would have killed Teridax and the Matoran Universe off if she had to]].

to:

* BlackAndWhiteMorality: See his page quote.
* BoundAndGagged: Is capable of doing this to criminals that he's transporting, if they're in a state where they can resist arrest. {{Averted|Trope}} regarding the gagging -- when he whisks the Barraki to te Pit, the only thing left behind is the sound of their screams.
* CallOnMe: Can be called upon at any time to take criminals to the Pit. [[MundaneUtility And, in a pinch, to teleport important objects.]]

* MundaneUtility: His teleportation ability occasionally causes him to be used as a glorified pack mule.

* TheSavageSouth: Where he hails from. ''[[AllThereInTheManual BIONICLE World]]'' explicitly states that he's "a member of a savage race of the southern islands."

* TerrorHero: While undoubtedly loyal to the Order's cause, he tends to strike fear into everyone, including fellow Order members. Even ''Makuta'' seems [[HorrifyingTheHorror unnerved when he shows up]].

Added DiffLines:

* UnPerson: Their fate after the overthrow of the League of Six Kingdoms, which conveniently explains why [[RememberTheNewGuy we've never heard of them prior to the 2007 story despite their status as warlords who had conquered almost the entirety of the known universe]]. It's handled fairly realistically under the circumstances, as aside from the Brotherhood of Makuta's roll of victory (the one record that officially survived), the Metru Nui Archives contains an old record of the League. Not to mention the number of people who are old enough to remember when the League existed.
