It's implied that even dolphins don't pose much threat to her.

* NearlyNormalAnimal: He is for most intents and purposes, a completely ordinary dog, but his thought processes are still complex enough to recieve extensive narration.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: On Dr. Phage's file, his name is written: 'Spleonard.' On the website's official Character Page, it's spelled [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/characters.html 'Sploenard.']]

* EarlyBirdCameo: Her prototype appeared in Bogleech's comics from before Awful Hospital. She first showed up in Awful Hospital in Fern's DreamingOfThingsToCome on [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/350.html page 350]] as a shadow that can only be seen if you view the image without the web page, and later shows up in the [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/soon.html promotional poster for Phase two.]] [[SinisterSilhouettes Neither portrayal seems to paint her in a positive light.]] She finally shows up in person on [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/906.html page 906]].

* EvilCounterpart: The prototype character she is based on would pretty much be this to Fern. Both of them are mothers of a son. Fern loves her son, while she seems to view her son as a toy. Fern befriends monsters in spite of being repulsed by their grotesquely alien appearances because they're good people, while she befriends evil ones due to being a NightmareFetishist.

* SkewedPriorities: Cheryl is used to things wanting to kill her, so when she misinterprets a dolphin's euphemisms for killing her for something dirty, she starts producing KillingIntent until it's clarified, at which point she calms down.

* HasTwoMommies: Jagged and Staicy are a same-sex couple, so they have this by default.

* TransformationHorror: Starting when Eyeslob joins Fern's party, Bloodstain begins to "mutate", initially being stretched across all of Exam Room I like [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/687.html creeping vines]], before seemingly filling [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/687.html the entire room]] later on.

* SanitySlippage: Right after Fern gets The Eyeslob as a companion, she visits Bloodstain's room, to find that her friend has changed, physically and mentally. Bloodstain's sanity is not what it was. Although still as mellow and chummy as ever, Bloodstain seems to believe bloodstainself to be ''fishing.'' When in reality, Bloodstain hasn't even left the bed.

* TransformationHorror: After Eyeslob joins Fern's party, Fern finds Bloodstain has somehow gotten mutated; stretched across all of Exam Room I like [[http://www.bogleech.com/awfulhospital/687.html creeping vines]].

* TheReasonYouSuckSpeech: Jagged Stain points out that Fern is incredibly weak, and if the help of someone as pathetic as her was worth anything, they would have already done her job for her.

* DissonantSerenity: The Library crosses the GodzillaThreshold, complete with mass violence and destruction. Instead of panicking and hiding like you would generally expect, the dog isn't even paying attention to it, proudly and happily pondering his favorite name.

* NarrativeProfanityFilter: She swears frequently. Her curse words are either split across the page or written imorecisely due to her drunken mumbling.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: The Parliament unleashed him to destroy The Library, and he has somehow done a stunningly good job.

* HiddenEyes: WordOfGod says he considered adding visible eyes, but thought the blot of darkness with a mouth was the charm of black poof dogs.
