Badass Mustache and Badass Beard were merged into Manly Facial Hair. Examples that don't fit or are zero-context are removed. Having facial hair is not enough to qualify. To qualify for Manly Facial Hair, the facial hair must be associated with manliness in some way. Please read the trope description before re-adding to make sure the example qualifies.

* TheEmpire: The year is 50 BC, and they have entirely occupied Gaul. That said, the comics portray them in a fairly neutral light, with Ceasar wanting to conquer the village only as a point of honor. In most tales, it's a "live and let live" policy between the village and the Empire: a few stories have neutral Romans visit the village with no trouble ("The Mansions of the Gods"), and in "Asterix in Switzerland" one of them even convalesces there.
* PunchClockVillain: The legionnaires are mostly just soldiers paid to go out and fight.
* VillainDecay: As the series went on, this took effect. After all, living with the Roman Empire neans both good and bad Romans exist. When Uderzo handled the sole works, this came into greater effect partly because Uderzo focused on fantasy stories involving realms beyond the Empire.

You Dont Look Like You is for adaptations, and should go on that work page, also the first example is not sufficiently different to be this trope

* YouDontLookLikeYou: Traditionally, Baba is portrayed as a rotund man with a white shirt, blue pants, exaggerated lips, and a tuft of curly hair. In ''Magic Carpet'' only, however, his lower body is not seen, but he's shirtless, muscular and fit, less exaggerated lips and with a shaven head. Incidentally, his appearance in ''Mission Cleopatre'' is a mix of both. He's still rotund with blue pants (and a straw skirt, but is also shirtless and his clearly curly hair is rather trimmed.
