!![=StickFigureRed=]
[[quoteright:183:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/red_08.png]]
A red stick figure from a short fighting animation the Animator watched, who quickly becomes the Second Coming's friend. He's the animal lover of the group.
----
* AttackOfTheFiftyFootWhatever: Builds a ''giant obsidian mecha'' during ''vs. Minecraft''.
* TheBeastmaster: His niche among his friends is spawning mobs.
* ButtMonkey: He's this so much in "Monster School", it's not even remotely funny. All of the monsters grief Red's attempts to perform all of the assignments from the Spider tripping Red trying to ambush a Steve clone, to basically being used as a stepping stool for the race by his "teammates". He even considered leaving his team for dead because they were bullying him into the ground.
* BerserkButton: Do not, we repeat, ''do not'' mess with his animals. Unless you ''want'' to experience his fighting skills firsthand.
* BrainwashedAndCrazy: He gets possessed by the spirit of [[MythologyGag Herobrine]] in ''vs. Minecraft'', leading him to try and stomp his friends into a paste.
* DemonicPossession: Gets one courtesy of [[UrbanLegendOfZelda Herobrine]]. The team has to delete the Minecraft icon itself to stop him.
** [[spoiler:Gets possessed by Herobrine ''again'' in the climax of ''The King'', but at this point Herobrine is [[EnemyMine a lot less demonic]].]]
* FriendToAllLivingThings: He's the animal lover of the bunch, summoning a cat during ''The Building Contest'', bonding with a pig during ''Potions'', and even befriending some ''Minecraft'' mobs in ''Monster School''. [[spoiler:When the pig dies, he's visibly heartbroken.]] ''Note Blocks'' opens with Blue building him a statue of his pet chicken (who wanders off after they discover the note blocks and doesn't come back).
* InstantKnots: In "Monster School", he uses his [[ImprovisedWeapon yellow headband]] to snatch away the enemies' weapons.
* TheLeader: Of the "yellow team" from "Monster School".
* LeeroyJenkins: Tends to be the most impulsive out of the gang, which carries over to combat. When a fight breaks out, expect this guy to make the first move.
* MartialArtsHeadband: Gains a yellow one in ''Monster School'', as provided by his teacher Herobrine to denote who his teammates are in the final exam. He then ditches it while taking the opportunity to escape, but after seeing his appointed teammates take a beating, he puts it back on and goes to help them. After that, Red wears it to symbolize his bond with his new friends. He even utilizes it in combat at a couple points, such as whipping and grabbing King's staff with it. [[spoiler:At the end of ''The King'', he bequeaths it to the Warden.]]
* MinionMaster: Crossed with [[TheBeastmaster The Beastmaster]], above. In ''[=PvP=]'' he summons both one large iron golem and an endless stream of snowball-tossing snowmen.
* NiceGuy: He loves animals and he's a good friend--notably, he's the first person to wave to the Second Coming when the team's revived in IV. He also waves back at the armor stand waiving at him in ''Command Blocks'', interacting like it like it was just another stick figure.
* {{Troll}}: ''The Rediscovery'', the first mini-episode, focuses on the team finding the Minecraft block again after it was tossed in the trash during ''vs. Minecraft''. Everyone's excited, passing out blocks and items, when Yellow pauses just before giving it to Red. The scene cuts to the team in full diamond armour, gear and weapons ready for a massive battle, and the Second Coming tentatively giving the block to Red before dashing to safety. [[OhCrap Red starts twitching erratically]], [[HereWeGoAgain the ominous music builds]]...and Red summons a few rabbits. (He gets a well-earned [[DopeSlap Dope Slap]] from Blue with a diamond helmet for that, which promptly knocks him out since, you know, it's ''diamond''.)
* UsedToBeASweetKid: During his rampage in ''vs. Minecraft'', the Second Coming flashes back to Red playing with the emojis to make them feel better during IV.

[[RuleofThree A yellow stick figure from a short fighting animation the Animator watched, who quickly becomes the Second Coming's friend.]] He's an expert at coding.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Gets the most focus out of all the stick figures, including Second Coming, in ''vs. Arcade Games''.
* DemolitionsExpert: Out of all the stick figures, he seems to be the one who handles [=TNT=] the most, even utilizing them in a grenade-like fashion.
* DidntThinkThisThrough: See TooCleverByHalf. He often comes up with what are seemingly clever solutions, only to inadvertently reap even worse repercussions.
* TheEngineer: His persona--he's an absolute genius with redstone. He graduates from building a rapid-fire arrow dispenser in ''vs. Minecraft'' to a huge underground roller coaster network, he's the one who sets up the drumbeats with redstone torches in ''Note Blocks'', and figures out the command blocks in no time at all in ''Command Blocks''.
* TheGadfly: The first thing he does when finding out about command blocks is troll Red with a hard-to-get cake.
* GadgeteerGenius: In ''The Showdown'', he manages to hack and access the Dark Lord's computer in his console in order to summon the Animator to aid the Chosen One against the Dark Lord.
* MagicStaff: In ''The Raid'', the Villagers make Yellow a staff not unlike [[spoiler:King's]] in order for him to efficiently wield the Command Block that he swiped. It's not quite enough to stop [[spoiler:King, who at that point had ''two'' Master Blocks]]. [[spoiler:It gets destroyed in ''The King'', but at the end of the episode the titular King entrusts his own staff and the Command Block to Yellow]].
* TheSmartGuy: Is the one to figure out how to [[spoiler:use the Dark Lord's computer to call for help from the Animator against the Dark Lord.]]
* SoreLoser: Shares this trait with Blue. On multiple occasions, he has griefed or helped someone grief Green's creations whenever Green wins a building contest.
* TooCleverByHalf: One of his trademarks has him ideate and realise some of his greatest ideas, only to face hilarious fails when he progresses through them:
** In ''The Roller Coaster'', he builds a vast, intricate, layered, amazing roller coaster underground... but fails to account for Minecraft physics, causing his friends to fall off a cliff. Oops.
** In ''Command Blocks'', he spawns lightning to make a dramatic display for Red, smiting zombies from on high. [[spoiler:The lightning hits the command blocks, causing a massive [[InterfaceScrew Interface Screw]] that engulfs the computer itself--only the Second Coming's quick thinking saves the day.]]
** In ''Lucky Blocks'', he decides to take apart a Lucky Block to see how it works, and eventually returns with a mysterious orb that spawns all the mobs and items spawned by a lucky block. [[spoiler:The orb ends up possessing him and eventually the rest of his friends. They end up getting saved by, of all things, a flying, armed, and armored pig.]]

[[folder:Purple]]
!![=StickFigurePurple=]
[[quoteright:335:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/purple_4.png]]
A purple stick figure from [[RunningGagged an Apple computer, who is frequently encountered by the Second Coming and his friends]]. Depending on his mood, he's either friends with the Stick Gang or trying to kill them.
----
* ZeroPercentApprovalRating: By [[JustForPun the end]] of ''The End'', Blue and Green are disgusted by him [[spoiler:for his betrayal, and his own villagers revolt against him for putting their village in danger]].
* AllForNothing: [[spoiler:Seems to indicate he feels this way after following King, only to be betrayed when he had [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness served his purpose]]]].
* AmbiguousSituation: The official card game shows him as a black stick figure painting himself purple. Is this canon or not, we will never know. But seeing as this is Purple's EarlyBirdCameo...
* BigBad: He is the primary opponent in ''Animation vs. League of Legends''.
* ChronicBackstabbingDisorder: Purple really likes betraying the Stick Gang.
* ColorfulThemeNaming: Like the Fighting Stick Figures, he's named after his own color.
* CombatPragmatist: In ''Animation vs. League of Legends'', he generates clone files of himself in the game's folder. He also attacks the game program itself to cause glitches, allowing his clones to phase through the other sticks' attacks, and when Second Coming deletes his clones, he eats the files on the game's champions to empower himself.
* CoolCrown: Wears a golden crown to signify his status as ruler on the Mac. [[spoiler:The flashback opener in ''The King'' reveals he gave it to King sometime between Seasons 1 and 3. By the end of the episode, it's been passed on to Red's pig.]]
* DemotedToDragon: After being the king of a village, [[spoiler:Season 3 reveals he's the right hand of a new, orange stick figure that dwarfs him]].
* DidYouJustPunchOutCthulhu: [[spoiler: After most of the Stick Gang and several hostile mobs fail to keep King from combining the two Master Blocks and using their combined power to destroy the nether ceiling, Purple flies in and knocks him aside, taking the staff.]]
* TheDragon: To [[spoiler:King. King, however, has other plans]].
* EasilyForgiven:
** After he left Blue and Green to die and put his village in danger, once the others beat him in a game of League of Legends, they willingly invite him to join for round two, putting him and the Fighting Stick Figures against Second Coming this time.
** [[spoiler:This happens again when Green finds him in the Noteblock Universe, after he reveals his backstory and why he did what he did.]]
* EarlyBirdCameo: First appears in the official card game before making his in-universe debut. In his card, [[WhamShot he is shown as a black stick figure painting himself purple]].
* FatalFlaw: Purple's biggest flaw turns out to be [[spoiler:his obsession with earning his father's approval. As his father was the only family he had left, Purple resorted to extreme measures to get his father's attention, but in the process he drove away people who were willing to accept Purple for who he is, like the Villagers he used to rule over and the Fighting Stick Figures.]]
* {{Foil}}: Purple and the villagers living on the Mac serve as a contrast to Second Coming and the Fighting Stick Figures on the PC. Whereas the PC sticks all live as equals and are mortified when they accidentally bring great harm to one another, Purple rules over the villagers [[spoiler:and will let others come to harm if the alternative is letting a prize get away.]]
* FriendOrIdolDecision: When Blue and Green are in danger of falling into the abyss, Purple has to choose between saving them or getting the dragon egg. [[spoiler:He chooses the egg.]]
* TheGoodKing: He seems to be a good ruler since the villagers love him enough to build a statue of him.
* GreenEyedMonster: When the villagers started ignoring him in favor of Blue and Green, he has them jailed.
* TheHeavy: Purple is the character who introduced story arcs into the ''[=AvM=] Shorts'' and his encounter with Green and Blue is when Season 1 gained an actual plot instead of being just random adventures with close-to-no real continuity.
* HeelFaceRevolvingDoor: First appears as an antagonistic and villainous character, imprisoning Green and Blue simply because the Villagers dealed with them, and not him. Then, he redeems himself by being friends with Green and Blue. Then, [[spoiler:he abandons them to die so he can get the Dragon Egg]]. Then, [[spoiler:he saves the village by giving the Ender Dragon the egg]]. Later, [[spoiler:he comes back to get revenge on the Stick Gang after being overthrown by the Villagers]], only to [[spoiler:befriend them once again]]. He later shows up to lead the Stick Gang into a world of parkour, seemingly just trying to let them have fun, only to be revealed that [[spoiler:he was manipulating them to be trapped in an endless loop]]. After that [[spoiler:he's betrayed by King (twice), which makes him run into a portal to the Note Block Universe, where Green convinces him to join the side of the FSF again]]. By the end of ''The King'', it seems to have become a full HeelFaceTurn as Purple finally gets King to stop his rampage for good.
* HeroKiller: [[spoiler:He makes the Season 3 pig vanish into nothingness upon achieving the Master Block]]. [[spoiler: Fortunately, it turns out that the pig was merely absorbed into the block along with other mobs, allowing it to come back after the Second Coming undoes the damage]].
* IAmAMonster: [[spoiler:After finally explaining to Green why he's been betraying them, he admits that he believes himself to be evil]].
* IconicItem: He is the only character in the series seen to wear elytra; he first takes one from the End Ship in ''The End'', and is shown to still have it (or have acquired another one) when he reappears in Season 3. [[spoiler:He finally ditches it in ''The Ultimate Weapon'' after the Fighting Stick Figures snare it with their fishing rods, and Green pockets it before pursuing him when he [[ScrewThisImOutOfHere flees the fight]]. Green gives it back preceding Purple's HeelFaceTurn.]] Purple then loses it during his [[SelfDestructiveCharge final charge]] to stop King's destruction.
* InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals: For unknown reasons, he looks exactly like the Fighting Stick Figures, despite not coming from the same animation. Though the Chosen One's ImagineSpot of the [=ViraBots=] causing chaos in ''The Flashback'' implies that the design they share is something far from uncommon.
* ItsAllAboutMe: He's really full of himself, considering he likes statues of himself and the fact [[spoiler:he prefers treasure over his friends]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: At first he jails Blue and Green after his villagers started ignoring him in favor of Blue and Green. But then once he learns they helped the villagers get enough materials to build a statue of him, he promotes them to kings as well and shows them the portal to End. Seemingly subverted as when [[spoiler:Blue and Green end up in danger of falling into the abyss, he prefers to steal an egg]]. Then later double subverted when it turns out that [[spoiler:he sacrifices the egg just to save his village]].
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: He returns the [[spoiler:dragon egg he stole to the Ender Dragon]] when he realizes his village is in danger.
* LaserGuidedKarma:
** He didn't get away with [[spoiler:betrayal and putting his own village in danger]] easily, as [[spoiler:villagers revolt against him and kick him out]].
** Purple is known for his ChronicBackstabbingDisorder, thus him [[spoiler:being left to die by King]] is nothing but this. He barely manages to get away.
* MesACrowd: [[spoiler: He's able to clone himself in ''League of Legends'' by tampering with the game's code.]]
* MoralityPet: Ends up being this to King, [[spoiler:who drops his original goal of destroying Minecraft in favor of trying to save Purple, after the similarities between Purple slowly dying in the Dual-Block's beam and Dark Yellow dying in the corrupted Minecraft emulator become too much to bear.]]
* MoralMyopia: Betrays the sticks at every opportunity he gets, but the moment King betrays ''him'', he's clearly distraught, throwing his head down and then running off in despair. [[spoiler:It becomes easier to understand why when Purple eventually reveals [[ParentalAbandonment his backstory]].]]
* OmnicidalManiac: Implied. [[spoiler:He helps King in creating a black void that seems to destroy everything in its paths, although its true purpose and King's goals are unknown]].
** ''The King'' reveals that Purple is only following King's true goal of destroying the Minecraft universe out of revenge for losing his son to it, with the implication that Purple sought King's approval to make up for the respect he never received from his own father.
* ParentalAbandonment: [[spoiler:Purple's father abandoned him when he was unable to fight back, and his mother died some time afterward.]]
* PurpleIsPowerful: Is purple in color, which is commonly associated with royalty.
* RecurringCharacter: While in no way a major character, he does pop up very often in the series.
* RoyalsWhoActuallyDoSomething: While he was still king of the village on the Apple desktop, he would travel into the Nether to gather materials to give to his subjects. [[spoiler:He also pulls his own weight against the Ender Dragon with Blue and Green.]]
* ScrewThisImOuttaHere: [[spoiler:In "The Ultimate Weapon", he flees the fight in dispear when he realizes that [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness King doesn't care about him anymore]]]].
* SixthRanger: [[spoiler:Joins the Fighting Stick Figures at the end of episode 29 to beat up King]].
* StaffOfAuthority: As a king, he wields a staff made of wood and stone to show his authority in the village he rules.
* UndyingLoyalty: To [[spoiler:King]], which is surprising given [[ChronicBackstabbingDisorder his most prominent character trait]]. [[spoiler:Though how much of it was loyalty is called into question when Purple's backstory is revealed. Regardless, once King leaves him behind to die, that loyalty disappears.]]
* WellDoneSonGuy: [[spoiler:Purple's goal since the beginning was to earn his father's approval, first by trying to get the Dragon Egg, then by helping King get the Master Block in the hopes that King's staff would get his father's attention.]]
* WhamShot: The first time a new stick figure has been seen ever since the debut of the Second Coming and the Fighting Stick Figures. InUniverse, he wasn't created by Alan.
* YouRemindMeOfX: Purple reminded King of his deceased son while he was struggling against King's beam of destruction.

[[folder:King Orange ('''Spoilers Unmarked!''')]]
!!King Orange
[[quoteright:150:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kingorange.jpg]]
An orange stick figure from the Nether, where he leads an army of piglin brutes. He's Purple's boss and seeks the Master Block's power for an unknown gain. He dwarfs the rest of the cast.
----
* AmbiguousSituation: In "Titan Ravager", it is largely unknown if he actually cared about the villagers well-being or saved it out of PragmaticVillainy in order to gain Blue and Yellow's trust.
* BadBoss: King sees all of his underlings, including Purple, as nothing but pawns in his game, and is completely fine with abandoning or even killing them if they serve no further purpose.
* BigBad: He's the main villain of season 3 of [=AvM=] Shorts.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: While this is a common recurrence in the Animator vs. Animation universe, King has access to [=YouTube=] videos of Alan Becker's stick figures which is likely how he learned about Yellow and Blue's obsessions.
* BroughtDownToBadass: He temporarily loses his Master Block, leaving his staff empty. It turns out that he can survive several hits from a Warden without armor, and he reclaims his Master Block anyway, though he loses the staff part to Second Coming.
* CoolCrown: Rarely seen without his gold crown, which is actually Purple's, who gave it to King when the latter first establishes his authority to the Piglin army. King gives it back to Purple following his HeelFaceTurn, who gives it to Red's pig.
* DarkIsEvil: His color is a slightly duller shade of orange than the Second Coming. And with the Minecraft icon, he primarily uses dark-colored blocks. His main throne room is also primarily black and is located in the Nether.
* TheDreaded: The Piglin Brutes are clearly afraid of revealing the news of Green's escape to King, and Purple is afraid when he orders him to continue the plan.
* EasilyForgiven: Neither the sticks or any of the Minecraft residents seem to hold much against him after his redemption, seeing fit to see him return home with Purple. The Second Coming even pulls him up from his PoseOfSupplication and shakes his hand to show there are no hard feelings. Although Blue and Yellow do briefly express some lingering resent, but that's before King decides to revive the Titan Ravagers he deleted and giving his staff to Yellow.
* EvilGenius: Is able to use Command Blocks to his full potential and formerly wielded one on his magic staff.
* FatalFlaw: [[DidntThinkThisThrough Short-sightedness]]. He tends to [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness discard anything he deems to have no more use to him]]. This results in several impedements to his plan, including Yellow and Blue getting ahold of his Command Block after he discarded it and the Titan Ravager that he didn't kill teaming up with them. The only reason that he's able to get away with it as long as he has is that he's MadeOfIron.
** This shortsightedness extends to his motive for destroying Minecraft from the beginning: He originally wanted revenge against the game for losing his son to an exhibition of it, but his hate against Minecraft eventually subsumed that, becoming hell-bent on annihilating the Minecraft world for no reason. This fact is eventually spelled out to King in a vision he experiences after being consumed by the Dual-Block, represented by him beating on a Minecraft block [[GrievousHarmWithABody with his son's body]].
* {{Foil}}:
** To the Second Coming. Both are orange stick figures who serve as the leaders of their respective groups, but while the Second Coming cares about his group and considers them as his friends, King seems to only really care about himself and treats Purple and the Piglins as expendable lackeys, even killing one of them for simply reporting bad news. It is eventually revealed that King ''does'' have others he cared about very deeply, but fell off the deep end after their death, while The Second Coming has the sense to remain on the side of good when his friends are (temporarily) killed in ''The Showdown''. However, The Second Coming does try to destroy Alan's PC when the latter (also temporarily) deletes his friends, but Alan is framed as the "evil" force in that story.
** To the Dark Lord. Both had ''entire universes'' on their hit list (the world of ''Minecraft'' for King; the ''entirety of the internet'' for the Dark Lord), but while King was introduced as a villain, was revealed to have a sympathetic motive and eventually found redemption, The Dark Lord started as a force on Alan's side, became irredeemably corrupt, wanted to destroy the internet [[ForTheEvulz for the hell of it]] and found only his death at the Second Coming's hands at the end of it all.
* FreudianExcuse: The King was a good man and father, but when his son died in a ''Minecraft'' simulator accident, he decided to destroy the game for revenge. He learns the error of his ways by Season 3's end.
* FusionDance: Once King finally gains possession of two Master Blocks and his MagicStaff at the same time, he fuses the two Master Blocks together and puts the fused Master Block in his staff.
* GivenNameReveal: When Yellow immobilizes him with a Command Block, the accompanying text reveals his name is King.
* HisNameReallyIsBarkeep: As mentioned above, his real name is King.
* ImprovisedWeapon: Aside from Command Blocks and the Master Block, King used a block of gold to turn his staff into a magically powered up mace. WordOfGod states that the staff can draw power from any block placed in it, and it can be assumed that rarer blocks have a stronger effect. Sure enough, once Red puts a [[MadeOfIndestructium Netherite block]] in the staff, it becomes a weapon that could kill. If only [[MadeOfIron King]] wasn't so tanky.
* InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals: For unknown reasons, he looks exactly like Purple and the Fighting Stick Figures, only scaled up. Although the Chosen One's ImagineSpot of the [=ViraBots=] causing chaos in ''The Flashback'' implies that the design they share is something far from uncommon.
* KnightOfCerebus: Unlike most other villains, it doesn't appear that King cares about anyone (at least after his son's disappearance) and he's ''not'' a fun guy. He once erased the mind of one of his minions merely for bringing bad news, betrayed Purple after he first obtained the Master Block, and his goal seems to involve destroying the world of Minecraft with a black hole.
* KnightTemplarParent: After his son was killed in a ''Minecraft'' simulator GoneHorriblyWrong, King would stop at nothing to destroy ''Minecraft'' itself in revenge.
* LargeAndInCharge: He dwarfs the entire cast, given that all of them are of the same height. He's also the king of a bunch of piglins and Purple himself.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: He's seen in the thumbnail for "The Ultimate Weapon". This doesn't stop him from having a lore-heavy role.
* {{Leitmotif}}: A dark remix of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDZK3_c-Vkc Pigstep]].
* LightIsNotGood: He has a second throne room with mainly white blocks which he attempts to use to make Yellow and Blue his CoDragons.
* MacGuffin: Episode 26 reveals that the staff itself that he wields is one, having the power to amplify the properties of the block that it holds, Gold blocks and Netherite blocks turning the staff into a powerful bludgeon, and Command Blocks enable it to quickly (but not instantaneously) input commands. Master Blocks? Yeah... [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt you shouldn't let King combine those two together]].
* MadeOfIron: ''In spades''. He can survive being hit by virtually anything, ranging from a punch from a [[InstakillMook Warden]] to having a Netherite powered staff slammed into his face.
* MagicStaff: He formerly wielded a Command Block in his staff which allowed him to do things like create blocks, erase AI, electrify metal bars, telekinetically lift people and just outright kill things instantly. When he gained possession of the Master Block, it granted him the added ability to create a black hole that would've destroyed the entire Nether if Second Coming hadn't found another Master Block. He ends up losing the Master Block, leaving his staff empty, but it's soon revealed that [[ImprovisedWeapon he can use any valuable block]] to power up his staff, offering him a not as powerful but still effective weapon. [[spoiler:At the end of "The King", he gives the staff and the Command Block away to Yellow to make up for his evil deeds]].
* TheManBehindTheMan: The true mastermind behind Purple's actions in Season 3.
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Seeing Purple struggle against the beam of destruction King was firing at him reminded King of what happened to his son before he died. This causes King to break out of his obsessive revenge and try to save Purple.
* OmnicidalManiac: Heavily implied to be his goal as of "The Ultimate Weapon". Confirmed in "The King". He wants to destroy the entirety of Minecraft, which is basically a whole multiverse full of sentient being as revenge for the death of his son.
* PapaWolf: King did everything he could to save his son when the ''Minecraft'' simulator started to malfunction. When he failed, he took his rage out on the people running the machine and ''Minecraft'' itself.
* ParentalSubstitute: By the end of season 3 of [=AvM=] shorts, King has become the father figure Purple always wanted.
* PowerUpLetdown: [[ZigzaggedTrope Zigzagged]]. While the Master Block is indisputably more powerful, it lacks the Command Block's ability to directly manipulate the values of players and mobs. With a Command Block, King is able to immediately eliminate mobs (or eradicate their AI) and kinetically manipulate other characters, both of which he uses to great effect to win battles outright with no resistance, but he shows no similar powers with the Master Block. On the other hand however, the Master Block can spawn and manipulate any block or item from Minecraft far more effectively than the Command Block ever could, and has several unique abilities of its own, such as conferring [[NighInvulnerable Creative Mode's]] invulnerability to the wielder, granting the ability to [[EvilKnockoff spawn dopplegangers]] under the King's command, and [[EnergyWeapon energy]] [[WaveMotionGun blasts]]. FridgeBrilliance comes in when you remember that in ''Minecraft'', you can't simply find the Command Block in the Creative Mode menu. You'll need to use commands to summon one.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: King wants to destroy ''Minecraft'' itself after his son was transported into the game and died when the game crashed.
* StartXToStopX: In order to fulfil his goal of destroying ''Minecraft'', King learned everything he could about the game so he could figure out how to destroy it.
* TaughtByExperience: In Episode 25, he discards the Command Block once he gets a Master Block, allowing Yellow to use it against him in Episode 28. in Episode 27, he carelessly throws away the gold block in his staff to insert the Master Block once again, allowing Red to use it against him. When he regains his staff and both Master Blocks, he takes out the netherite block and destroys it with one of the Master Blocks. Someone's realised the danger in not disposing of your old gear properly. In Episode 30, a FreezeFrameBonus also shows that he deletes Yellow's staff as he reclaims the Command Block.
* TragicVillain: The King was a kind man who loved his son. However, when his son died in a ''Minecraft'' simulator gone wrong, he became vengeful and determined to destroy the game. It was until Purple tried to sacrifice himself to stop him that King [[HeelRealization realized the error of his ways]] and [[HeelFaceTurn let go of his revenge.]]
* TokenAdult: While it's unclear exactly how old the rest of the stick figures are, "The King" reveals he's old enough to have a grown kid the same size as the main stick figures, suggesting that he's a middle aged man while the rest of the sticks shown in the season are somewhere between their late teens to early adulthood.
* UnskilledButStrong: Implied. He's [[MadeOfIron extremely durable]], but has so far only relied on supernatural tools for combat, helplessly begging for his life when Green, Yellow, and Blue temporarily separate him from his staff. In ''The King'', he manages to fend off all the sticks, several mobs, and Herobrine all on his own with little difficulty, but that's still only with the aid of his staff. The only moment he's unable to fight back is after his staff is separated from him again (though he does pull off some impressive evasive moves but ''only'' to get his staff back), and only manages an upper hand when he steals Yellow's staff.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: One of the darkest villains in the series, especially during the ''[=AvM=] Shorts''. In comparision to the other antagonists, King is presented as a serious threat who has an actual body count and is very much dangerous, having a possibly [[OmnicidalManiac omnicidal]] goal; Even if he has a different goal in mind, it still very much terrifies the Fighting Stick Figures and sends them to a temporary DespairEventHorizon once he gets his hand on the Master Block. He also lacks any comedic moments (save for the one time he crashed onto his jukebox, ejecting the disk).
* VillainWithGoodPublicity: He's beloved by the village from "Titan Ravager".
* VillainousBreakdown: After learning of Green's escape, he erases the AI of a Piglin and angrily orders the remaining Piglin and Purple to catch Green and the Master Block respectively.
* VillainsWantMercy: His body language makes it clear he's begging Blue not to kill him once he's at his mercy.
* WalkingSpoiler: You can't say a thing about him without revealing spoilers.
* WeCanRuleTogether:
** The last phase of his plan depicts both him and Purple holding the staff with the Master Block, implying that this was how he won Purple's cooperation. This is confirmed in "The Ultimate Weapon", where Purple tries to get a turn with the staff, [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness only to be blasted away]].
** He gives Blue and Yellow an opportunity to be his CoDragons, and they would have taken it if not for Green divulging to them King's true nature.
%%* WhamShot: The very shot revealing his existence.
* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Why does he attempt to destroy Minecraft? His son got into a fatal accident involving a Minecraft simulation. As a result, he ends up using every trick from the game to destroy it, especially with ''two'' all-powerful Master Blocks in hand.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: He makes it blatantly clear he doesn't care about Purple the second he gets the Master Block. He also discards "weaker" blocks in favor of the ones he prefers more, allowing Yellow and Blue to get their hands on his command block.
* YourHeartsDesire: He gives Yellow and Blue a throne with a Command Block and a throne with Nether Wart respectively in an attempt to make them his CoDragons. It works until Green breaks in and tells them King's true intentions.

* BigBad: Seems to be this for the Animation vs. Animator VI series. They're the one who put the bounty on the Chosen One.

[[folder:The Mercenaries (Animation vs. Animator VI)]]
[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled_1740.png]]
A team of stick figures of varying art styles who seek to get rewarded for capturing the Chosen One.
----
* TheAce: The sunglasses-wearing one is one of the strongest seen in the series, carrying an entire set of graphics tools as weapons as well as having innate fighting skills that rival The Chosen One, which is akin to fighting the Animator in stick figure form.
* ArtStyleClash: All of them are drawn in different styles, from cave paintings to pixel art to modern vector lines.
* BarbarianHero: Well, a villain, but the red pencil-drawn stick figure is the most beastlike of the group in terms of demeanor and style and prefers to use old-fashioned weapons as opposed to modern weaponry aside from the laser-firing hoverbikes their team uses.
* BountyHunter: With a bounty on The Chosen One's head, these guys are looking to collect.
* ContemporaryCaveman: The painted stickman, despite being clearly a prehistoric cave painting, appears fully acclimated to being in the vague {{Cyberspace}} setting of the shorts and operates his own hoverbike and its mounted weapons without trouble.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: None of them are drawn with filled-in heads like most citizens of stick figure society, nor drawn with an open head like Alan's hand drawn stick figures.
* LimitedAnimation: The safety stick figure. He rarely uses inbetweens in his animations and the majority of his movements are rather stiff.
* LineBoil: The cave painting figure is animated this way.
* QuirkyMinibossSquad: The Mercenaries work together to capture The Chosen One and The Second Coming, with each of these strange stickmen having their own unique style of animation and combat.
* ShockAndAwe: The safety stick figure summons the electricity hazard symbol to kill a bird that the Second Coming drew to distract him.
* ShoutOut: One of them comes from [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUdaD1zUXDM the classic Stickman vs. Door animation]], sharing a similar large pixel size and likewise having a machine gun inside their head.
* SuperWristGadget: The one with the sunglasses has a pair of toolbars attached to his arms that he can use to deploy various weaponized graphics tools from.
* TheWorfEffect: They're easily able to overpower the Chosen One to the point where his best chance of survival is by running away.

The creator of the stick figures. The titular character, and the owner of the computers where the series takes place. Originally starting out as nothing more than a evil man seeking to torture his creations for fun, he later redeems himself and hops along some of their adventures.
----
* AchillesHeel: His pointer, it's his most important tool for interacting with objects on the computer. Destroy that and Alan's options become limited to keyboard shortcuts. Both [[EnergyWeapon The Second Coming]] & [[TouchOfDeath ViraBot]] exploit this.
* ArchEnemy: The Chosen One's first. The Animator has enslaved the Chosen One for four years, has made a stick figure with the sole purpose of killing him, and the Chosen One later destroyed his first computer. They eventually forgive each other and team up.
* AuthorAvatar: He is both the creator of the videos and a character within the series.
* BigBad: In ''Animator vs. Animation I'' and ''Animator vs. Animation IV''.
* BigBadDuumvirate: With the Dark Lord in ''Animator vs. Animation III''.
* ButtMonkey: He tends to be the ultimate victim throughout the series; everyone else shrugs off their injuries, but the things that happen to him tend to be less inconsequential. ''Animator vs. Animation III'' ends with his computer [[UsefulNotes/BlueScreenOfDeath crashing]]. ''IV'' reveals that the computer was unusable because of a fried motherboard after the Chosen One and Dark Lord thrashed it, and has him scrambling to stop burned bridges when Second Coming vandalizes his Facebook page. Malware gets installed into his computer in ''V'', and when the other stick figures go on their adventure in ''VI'', the Animator is left blankly staring at the burning wreck that the Chosen One left his animation software in. Finally, in the videos to promote [=TeamTrees and TeamSeas=], the stick figures make a bank-breakingly large donation in his name ($5100 dollars and ''$18,547,800'' dollars, respectively).
* ChallengeSeeker: He created [[TheHeavy the Chosen One]] simply because he was looking for a challenge.
* CommutingOnABus: After ''Animator vs. Animation IV'', he basically dissappeared from the series until the ''[=AvA=] Shorts'', where he is overshadowed by the stick figures. Besides this, he appears only as quick cameos in ''vs. League of Legends'' and ''vs. Pokemon''.
* EvilGod: Starts out like this.
* TheFaceless: In-universe, we only ever see his hands--drawing, typing, picking up keys and laundry or just the back of his head, but not his face. We do get a glimpse of his face in the Actual Short "New Wallpaper", [[DownplayedTrope but it's out of focus]]. (Out of universe, Alan talks directly to the camera on each outro.)
* FatalFlaw: At first, his LackOfEmpathy [[WhatMeasureIsANonHuman towards stick figures]]. The reason the Chosen One managed to convince the Dark Lord to turn against him is because of his apathy to the fact his creation is about to get killed. Also, in IV, he mercilessly ends the Second Coming's friends and tries to end him as well despite the fact they weren't doing any real damage to the computer (through this might be justified as he feared that they will destroy his computer as well when they go on a rampage. Then again, it's a SelfFulfillingProphecy, as if he didn't end his friends, the Second Coming wouldn't try to destroy his computer). The Second Coming even has to spell out that the reason he's upset is because the Animator deleted his friends.
* GodOfGood: Becomes this eventually when he resurrects The Second Coming's friends.
* HeelFaceTurn: While he creates stick figures just to fight for fun in the first videos, by IV, he's made peace with the newest figure.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: Not in I-III, where he sadistically tortures the stick figure because he doesn't consider it a serious threat, but in IV, the very second he recovers from the MassOhCrap of seeing the stick figure (as well as the others on his computer) rummaging about, he force boots [[NoKillLikeOverkill Task Manager]]. Also, when the Second Coming tries to fight him, he uses the most direct means of disposal possible (select all + delete) when in the animation program.
* OhCrap: After ending the tasks of the Fighting Stick Figures, he discovers that the orange one he drew is represented by the file [=TheSecondComing.exe=], "The Chosen One's Return". We don't see his face, but his cursor slows noticeably before he tries to end the task, indicating that [[ThisIsGonnaSuck he already knows it's not going to be that easy]].
* OutOfFocus: After ''Animator Vs Animation IV'', he has a much smaller role.
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: Has evolved into this by the end of IV. He gives The Second Coming and his friends free rein to use his computer, letting them play Minecraft and surf the web, in exchange for the Second Coming's advice on animation.
* RageBreakingPoint: After everything the Chosen One did, up to and including destroying his computer, when the Second Coming "likes" a sad Facebook post to ruin his reputation, Alan is furious enough to slam his fist on the table and go all out on trying to destroy the Second Coming.
* SuddenlyVoiced: He starts talking and makes an appearance in IV.
* SummonBiggerFish: [[spoiler:He is the bigger fish during ''The Showdown'', with Yellow writing a program from The Dark Lord's PC to let him contribute to the fight - represented from the stick figures' perspective as a giant cursor manifesting upon the battlefield.]]
* TerribleArtist: When he started animating, the best he could animate were stick figures with his fourth stick figure, the Second Coming, being a better artist than him. This is averted when the Second Coming teaches him how to draw and animate.
* UnexplainedRecovery: During the first ''Animator vs. Animation'' short, [=ViraBot=] destroys his cursor and then shreds the Start menu to prevent him from summoning a new one. When the scene cuts back to him in the fourth short, he's somehow managed to re-summon his cursor and is dragging the wreckage into the Recycle Bin, indicating that he didn't reboot his computer.
* UnsportsmanlikeGloating: Implicitly and wordlessly so in ''Animator vs. Animation VI'': after knocking over all the stick figures in a single blow, he flauntingly floats his cursor in a figure eight above them.
* TheWorfEffect: With his near-total external control of his computer, he is one of the most powerful allies the second generation stick figures have in their setting. Naturally, whenever the stick figures face major threats, he either [[DeusExitMachina happens to be absent]] or is neutralized quickly.
* YouCannotGraspTheTrueForm: Inverted. Although he appears in the computer as a simple cursor, programs can see him through the monitor.

The first creation of the Animator. He was created by him to be toyed with but managed to rebel.

* AllLowercaseLetters: His name is written in lowercase.
* BadassNormal: Unlike a majority of its descendants, victim manages to wreak havoc with only whatever he finds instead of via superpowers.
* IdenticalStranger: He has the exact same appearance as the Chosen One, but they are different characters with different powers.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: Manages to take out the Animator's guns twice.
* ImprovisedWeaponUser: Uses a paintbrush and eraser as weapons.
* KilledOffForReal: When the Animator shuts the program down without saving, victim and his clones vanish for good. The computer is destroyed at the end of ''III'', further cementing that victim won't be brought back.
* MesACrowd: Clones himself multiple times in an attempt to stop the Animator.
* SelfDuplication: He managed to pull more copies of himself out of the Flash file's Library.

[[caption-width-right:297:"[[TooDumbToLive i made him the chosen one]]"\\
"[[WhatTheHellHero Are you crazy?!]] [[LampshadeHanging That's suicide, man]]."]]
The second creation of Alan Becker. He was marked as "The Chosen One" so that Alan could have a greater challenge.
----
* AchillesHeel: He can take on single opponents no problem, but the few times he's been overpowered were when he was made to fight [[ZergRush several enemies at once]].
* ApeShallNeverKillApe: Implied, given how his HeelRealization starts when [[spoiler:seeing the Dark Lord killing fellow stick figures]] and that his ImagineSpot, which causes him to try and stop the Dark Lord, has him [[spoiler:killing stick figures]]. Even during ''III'', the Chosen One spares the Dark Lord so they could defeat the Animator, despite him trying to kill him throughout the entire episode. [[spoiler:This is completely subverted during "The Showdown": The Chosen One is perfectly willing to kill a fellow stick figure. That said, said stick figure is an AxCrazy bastard who tried to destroy entire computers without a second thought, so this is very much justified]].
* ArchEnemy: To two characters.
** The Animator. Even before being enslaved, the Chosen One started a rampage for absolutely zero reason mere seconds after his creation. Afterwards, the Animator made a stick figure with the sole purpose of killing the Chosen One. The Chosen One repays him by destroying his computer. They eventually team up to take down the bigger threat.
** [[spoiler:The Dark Lord was created for the sole purpose of killing the Chosen One, and after the two become friends, the Chosen One eventually distances himself from the Dark Lord due to his path of chaos and destruction. When they become enemies once again, the Chosen One goes absolutely NoNonsenseNemesis on him, fully determined to stop his once-friend's rampage, it being seen more than once that the Chosen One is absolutely ''pissed'']].
* BadassInDistress: [[spoiler: At the end of "Wanted"]].
* BigDamnHeroes: When [=ViraBot=] was about to kill everyone, he appears to fight against it.
* BulletSeed: After eating text he gets the ability to spit letters.
* TheChosenOne: Invoked in his name but not played straight. He wasn't chosen by gods nor does he have any quests. His name seems to simply indicate his power level and the animator intentionally created an over-powered stick figure to fight for fun. It took years of real time to see him do something heroic, which is stopping a virus from infecting every computer in the world, starting with the animator's computer despite the animosity toward each other they used to have.
* DeusExMachina: There was no foreshadowing he would return and save everyone from [=ViraBot=] especially since he destroyed the old computer he resided in. Subverted in "The Flashback", which showed not only how he survived the computer's destruction, but why he was chasing [=ViraBot=].
* EvenEvilHasStandards: [[spoiler: Has no issues wreaking havoc throughout the internet alongside the Dark Lord for a while, but as the Dark Lord begins harming other stick figures and the like, the Chosen One starts having second thoughts. When the Dark Lord creates [=ViraBot=], the Chosen One decides he's gone too far. Even when he sees that it was shot at Alan's computer and remembers how Alan treated him, the Chosen One still decides to chase after [=ViraBot=].]]
* ExtremeOmnivore: He's shown to swallow text and icons.
* EyeBeams: Can fire [[EnergyWeapon Frickin' Laser Beams]] from eyes.
* FireIceLightning: He mainly uses fire attacks, but he has shown the ability to summon down lightning, and on one occasion to launch a freezing blast from his hands.
* TheHeavy: His rampage caused a chain of events leading to the Dark Lord being created, the Animator's first computer being destroyed, [[TheHero the Second Coming]] being created, him befriending the Fighting Stick Figures and causing the Animator to pull a HeelFaceTurn.
* HeelFaceTurn: [[spoiler:In ''The Chosen One's Return'' it's finally revealed he no longer holds a grudge against Alan. Confirmed further in ''The Flashback'' where he chases after the Virus after realizing it was shot at Alan's computer.]]
* TheHero: The main protagonist of the ''[=AvA=] Shorts'', [[spoiler:now fully redeemed]].
* AnIcePerson: Was able to freeze Mozilla Firefox in II.
* IdenticalStranger: He has the exact same appearance as Victim but they are different characters with different powers. Though Alan considered naming him Victim too before changing his mind, but he didn't change his appearence.
* ImprovisedWeaponUser: Can use scroll bar as staff, paint's paintbrush as swords and arrows as spears.
* IncorruptiblePurePureness: Post-redemption, he teams up with the redeemed Animator and his newest creations to take down The Dark Lord and its army of [=ViraBots=].
* LateArrivalSpoiler: His survival would have certainly be a huge spoiler if not for the fact that one of the episodes is titled "The Chosen One's Return" and that all but ''one'' of the ''[=AvA=] Shorts'' thumbnails include him in them.
* MegatonPunch:
** His final attack after using all his powers on [=ViraBot=], the one that completely destroys him.
** Also does this on [[spoiler:The Dark Lord to stop him from launching his virus]]. It failed, but he did break the machine and launched [[spoiler:the Dark Lord quite a ways away.]]
* MundaneUtility: While under slavery by Alan, his powers are simply used to destroy pop-ups.
* NoNonsenseNemesis: When he finally has [=ViraBot=] in a vulnerable position, he unleashes absolutely ''everything'' in his arsenal to take it out. Even more when he faces off against [[spoiler:the Dark Lord]] afterwards.
* NoSell: He can resist [=ViraBot=]'s TouchOfDeath.
* NotQuiteDead: [[spoiler:He escaped off-screen during the destruction of Alan's old PC by jumping into the internet itself]], showing how he returned to stop [=ViraBot=].
* NotQuiteFlight: He can levitate by shooting fire from his hands.
* NotSoInvincibleAfterAll: Upon his creation, he immediately proves to be a force to be reckoned with, fighting through most of the Animator's defenses and desktop icons with relative ease. The Animator's programmer friend even says that creating the Chosen One is a "suicide" move. That being said, the programmer was about to reveal a way to defeat the Chosen One before [[HisNameIs being cut off by AIM's death]], and the Chosen One is eventually restrained by Avast! Antivirus.
* PlayingWithFire: His most often used powers are fire-related ones.
* PoseOfSupplication: Gives one to [[spoiler:the Second Coming]] at the end of ''The Showdown'', [[spoiler:out of respect for his ability to defeat the Dark Lord, whereas he could not.]]
* ShockAndAwe: Was able to summon a thundercloud complete with lightning in II. He also uses lightning to finish [=ViraBot=] off in ''The Chosen One's Return''.
* ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill: The way he finishes off [=ViraBot=]. He sucks him into tornado before blasting him with lightning, shooting him with massive laser beams and huge jets of fire before finishing it with a charged punch.
* WeUsedToBeFriends: He fell out with [[spoiler:the Dark Lord]] when he realized that [[spoiler:he is ''[[OmnicidalManiac absolutely demented]].]]'' When he discovers [[spoiler:him making the [=ViraBot=]]], he is quick to try and stop him.
* WhatYouAreInTheDark: [[spoiler:He failed to stop the Dark Lord from launching [=ViraBot=], and was about to go after it when he noticed the destination: ALANSPC]]. He could have let [=ViraBot=] destroy the computer, not only as revenge against the Animator who created him to be tormented and locked him up as a pop-up blocker, but as karma for [[spoiler:creating the Dark Lord]] in the first place, and Alan would be none the wiser. The Chosen One decided to go after it anyways.
* TheWorfEffect: In "The Showdown", he fights the Dark Lord evenly in prolonged combat, but is eventually overwhelmed by [[spoiler:the Dark Lord's [=ViraBot=] army, leaving the Second Coming as the final hope of defeating the Dark Lord]].

[[caption-width-right:350:[=mission.The_Dark_Lord=] = [[EvilCounterpart destroy(The_Chosen_One)]];]]
The third creation of Alan Becker. He was marked as "The Dark Lord" and was created to fight against the Chosen One to stop his rampage, but they teamed up and escaped into the Internet.
----
* AxCrazy: As soon as he escapes to the internet, he destroys everything on his path with such ferocity, that the Chosen One ends up having a HeelFaceTurn and opposes him once he creates the [=ViraBots=].
* BigBad: For the ''[=AvA Shorts=]''.
* BigBadDuumvirate: With Alan in ''Animator vs. Animation III''.
* BiggerStick: In "The Showdown", he is shown to have a wristband that grants him additional attacks and apparently allows him to NoSell the Chosen One's EyeBeams, giving him a major advantage while dueling the latter.
* CurbStompCushion: The Second Coming beat the living shit out of him, but he managed to deliver a solid punch that threw his enemy straight into the cliff.
* DarkIsEvil: Though the "dark" part is in his name rather than in his color.
** [[InvokedTrope Invoked]] to act as a contrast to The Chosen One. Though ends up teaming up with him.
** Played straight after he escapes into the internet. He wants to infect every computer in the world with a virus, and later gains darkness-based powers.
* DirtyCoward: If he realises that the situation he's currently in can result in him dying, he quickly stops being so badass. Best seen at the end of ''The Showdown'', when after fearlessly defeating the Animator, who he overpowered with the [=ViraBots=], and the Fighting Stick Figures, absolutely harmless threats, he runs the hell away from The Second Coming after his [[EleventhHourSuperpower 11th-Hour Superpowers]] have activated.
* TheDragon: To Alan before he betrays him. But he does seem to be even with The Chosen One before the latter realizes the former's [[OmnicidalManiac plans]].
* DragonInChief: Although it's debatable if he's stronger than Alan, he is a lot smarter and [[AxCrazy crazier]] than Alan was, being smart enough to create a virus solely to infect every computer around the world with it.
* DrunkWithPower: Turns out that the guy is a '''serious''' loose cannon once he's no longer under Alan's influence. It's a large part of why The Chosen One ultimately turns against him, as he wants no part of the internet's destruction.
* EvilCannotComprehendGood: Implied. He's confused when the Chosen One refuses to let him launch a [=ViraBot=].
* EvilCounterpart: Started out as this to The Chosen One. However, he ended up teaming up with him. He reverted back to this role after escaping, due to The Chosen One having a change of ways.
* EvilIsNotAToy: Alan created him as an evil counterpart to The Chosen One. Too bad he didn't count on The Dark Lord turning against ''him''.
* FaceHeelTurn: As soon as he breaks out of the computer and enters the internet, he decides to attack multiple websites, which becomes so bad that The Chosen One ends up turning when he creates the [=ViraBots=].
* ForTheEvulz: Seems to be his only real motive.
* TheHeavy: He pretty much carries all of ''III'' the second he's introduced, being as strong as the Chosen One and sending the desktop icons after him.
* HeroAntagonist: Although he ''is'' an antagonist in ''Animator vs. Animation III'', he genuinely just wants to protect the computer and kill the threat destroying it. [[FaceHeelTurn It doesn't last]].
* HeroKiller: Kills the Fighting Stick Figures during ''The Showdown'', and comes pretty damn close to killing the Second Coming. The former doesn't last.
* ImplacableMan: Capable of putting himself in a dangerous fight against all odds, as shown when he managed to beat back both the Animator and the Chosen One before unleashing his [=ViraBots=] on them to defeat them. He also showed no restraint when he kills Red, Yellow, Green and Blue for trying to stop him, and later takes down the Second Coming, though this leads the latter to the Second Coming fighting and defeating him in retaliation. And, [[UncertainDoom due to Alan still deciding his fate]], ''he might have survived all this''.
* LateArrivalSpoiler: Just like with the Chosen One.
* TheManBehindTheMan: He's the one who created the [=ViraBot=].
* MeaningfulName: Definitely becomes one hell of a dark lord when he kills multiple internet characters and creates a virus to attack computers.
* MistreatmentInducedBetrayal: Teams up with The Chosen One once he notices [[LackOfEmpathy how Alan is ignorant to the fact he's about to get killed]].
* NearVillainVictory: In "The Showdown", he almost certainly would have succeeded in his goals if the Second Coming hadn't activated [[EleventhHourSuperpower 11th-Hour Superpowers]].
* NoKillLikeOverkill: Is defeated by Second Coming's laser eye blast which then takes him to a mountain, ''which explodes''.
* NonIndicativeName: For "The Dark Lord" his colors are not very dark. And he lacks any powers related to darkness, too. Later lives up to his name by creating minions (the [=ViraBots=]) and using a control tether to gain dark powers.
* OmnicidalManiac: The first thing he does when getting into the internet? Go around to different websites and kill almost everything in sight, even going so far as to kill [[Website/{{Newgrounds}} the Tankman]], seemingly.
* PlayingWithFire: Similarly to The Chosen One, he can use fire attacks. However, unlike TCO, TDL's fire often comes in explosive fireballs.
* RedAndBlackAndEvilAllOver: His wristbands in ''The Showdown'' have this color scheme, being able to produce black blades with red outlines on them. The Dark Lord being red himself enhances the evilness.
* RedIsViolent: Is red and is very aggressive, first to The Chosen One, and then to Alan. This also extends to the rest of the internet, as revealed in ''The Flashback''.
* ScrewDestiny: Was created to defeat The Chosen One, only to end up teaming up with him. When the Chosen One turns on him, they start fighting yet again. Even after beating him, he prioritizes the destruction of the internet instead of killing The Chosen One.
* UncertainDoom: He seemingly dies at the end of ''The Showdown'', but given his ImplacableMan status and ShrugOfGod, it's possible he survived.
* UnscrupulousHero: In ''Animator vs. Animation III'', while he just wants to protect the computer, he is only ''slightly'' less destructive than the Chosen One. He stops being one altogether in the ''[=AvA=]'' Shorts.
* VileVillainSaccharineShow: The majority of the villains have either redeemed themselves, acted in self-defence or commited the nothing-special crime of attempted murder at the best, with not much personality given to them. The Dark Lord, however, is the exact opposite of all the qualities mentioned and makes the entirety of the ''[=AvA=] Shorts'' much darker with his sole appearance, actions and goals. While the majority of the antagonists try to kill only our protagonists, the Dark Lord killed countless across the Internet and ultimately tried to infect and destroy computers around the entire planet, for no other reason than [[ForTheEvulz sick amusement]]. Not to mention that even if for a brief amount of time, the Dark Lord managed to kill all four of the Fighting Stick Figures, some of the series' main characters.
* VillainousBreakdown:
** At the beginning of ''The Flashback'', he starts panicking like a madman when the computer is exploding.
** A minor one, but during ''The Showdown'', he gets more and more pissed off when the Second Coming still stays alive despite being stabbed, culminating in throwing him into the air and stabbing him multiple times.
* WalkingSpoiler: There are a lot of spoiler marks here for a reason.
* WhyWontYouDie: Despite lacking a face or a voice, you can tell the Second Coming pissed him off by not dying after being stabbed, and still having the will to fight.
* WithGreatPowerComesGreatInsanity: As soon as he's free from Alan's computer, he wreaks havoc across the internet.

* EleventhHourSuperpower: [[spoiler:In ''The Showdown''. After seeing his friends killed and receiving a NoHoldsBarredBeatdown from the Dark Lord, he awakens to his latent superpowers similar to the Chosen One's, although his are [[ColorCodedForYourConvenience green]] and actually strong enough to finish off the Dark Lord once and for all.]]
* AlwaysABiggerFish: [[spoiler:He's this to both The Chosen One and The Dark Lord when his powers are awakened. Whereas it took The Chosen One an entire video to take down a single Virabot and The Dark Lord uses technology to get the upper hand, The Second Coming destroys ''the entire Virabot army'' in one fell swoop and annihilates The Dark Lord. Oh, and he can use his powers on technology to revive his deleted friends]].
* ArtifactName: His name, "The Second Coming", was originally meant to indicate that he was some kind of resurrection of the Chosen One. There's even a moment in ''Animator vs Animation 4'' where he glitches into the Chosen One's appearance for a split second. However, in the ''[=AvA=] Shorts'', we learn that the Chosen One was alive all along and he and the Second Coming doesn't seem to know each other nor do they seem to be related in any way, meaning that the name of the Second Coming has lost its meaning, but he's still called like this despite the contradiction with the fact that The Chosen One was never gone to begin with.
* AscendedFanboy: Very quickly goes from being awestruck by Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow's fighting, then to being close friends, then to being the strongest of the group and TheLeader, then his four friends are the fans and watch his adventures in Pokémon.
* BadassBoast: "You ended my friends. Now I will end you."
* BadassNormal: More like the original Victim rather than The Chosen One, he doesn't ([[EleventhHourSuperPower usually]]) have any special powers, only fighting Alan by physical punches, kicks, and whatever [[ImprovisedWeapon jury rigged weapons and tools]] he can create (like a laser pistol) or use (using the pencil tool to create drawings to wreck the animation interface).
* TheBeastmaster: Shows shades of this in ''Wanted'', as he draws several animals to aid him in battle.
* BreakoutCharacter: Went from another [[VillainOfTheWeek Stick Figure of the Week]] to TheHero of the entire series.
* TheCameo: He makes a cameo as a structure in [=YouTube's=] 1 trillion view milestone for Minecraft content due to the popularity of Alan Becker's Animation vs. Minecraft video.
* CharacterDevelopment: After the Stick Gang's incident with the different worlds explored through the Nether Portals in Season 1, the Second Coming wanted nothing more than to avoid leaving Alan's PC at any cost and was heavily disappointed when Blue's quest for Nether Wart forced him and the others to leave home once again to find him. In "Lush Caves", however, he realizes that if he never left Alan's PC, he would've never discovered the amazing worlds that existed outside and became more willing to explore.
* ContrastingSequelMainCharacter: Unlike his predecessors, The Second Coming is on good terms with Alan.
* {{Determinator}}: In IV: [[DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu "This action cannot be completed because the program is too resistant."]]
* DidWeJustHaveTeaWithCthulhu: Befriends the Warden in its titular episode.
* EmpoweredBadassNormal: [[spoiler: Is revealed to have powers in ''The Showdown''. Though the fact that it took a NearVillainVictory and the loss of his friends to trigger them, plus ending with a PostVictoryCollapse, indicate that they're not as easily used as they are for the Chosen One himself.]]
* EnsembleCast: Alongside the Fighting Stick Figures, The Second Coming is one of the series' five main protagonists.
* ForgotFlandersCouldDoThat: In their debut, The Second Coming displays the ability to spontaneously create text when the Animator boxes them in. This trait was generally left to be forgotten as the series favored a dialogue-less SilenceIsGolden approach, but ''Music Lesson -- An Actual Short'' remembers Second Coming's text creation ability when they attempt to sing with Green.
* GoodIsNotSoft: [[spoiler:Gives a brutal NoHoldsBarredBeatdown to The Dark Lord at the end of Showdown when pushed to his absolute breaking point.]]
* HealingFactor: [[spoiler:One of his EleventhHourSuperpower is the ability to instantly heal his own injuries.]]
* TheHero: Of the series, with him being the main character and stopping the villains.
* HeroicSecondWind: [[spoiler:In tandem with EleventhHourSuperpower; not only does he gain powers like the Dark Lord and the Chosen One, his are actually powerful enough to finish off the Dark Lord completely.]]
* HiddenDepths: He's a really good artist--and in the end, he's willing to teach the Animator what he knows.
* TheLeader: Of the group of friends. That being said, they can do stuff without him.
* LightIsGood: He's TheHero of the series and his color is a lighter shade of orange than [[spoiler:King's]]. With the Master Block, he primarily attacks with light colored blocks.
* LightningBruiser: Though ([[EleventhHourSuperpower at first]]) lacking explicit superpowers like The Chosen One, he is much faster and stronger than Victim was, capable of crazy acrobatics and breaking interface elements with strength alone.
* MacGyvering: This seems to be his key skill among his friends. He built a functioning ray gun out of Flash's tool icons, and figured out instantly how to make armors and weapons in Minecraft.
* MeaningfulName: Called "The Second Coming" and "The Chosen One's Return" by the task manager in his debut episode. His handiness with tools and random objects also evokes that of Victim's, so he could also be considered a "second coming" of him. [[spoiler: Pulls out some similar powers to the Chosen One to win the fight against the Dark Lord in ''The Showdown''.]]
* NonindicativeName: A rare case of overlap with MeaningfulName above; with the original Chosen One revealed to have survived the events of ''III'' in the ''[=AvA=]'' shorts, the Second Coming's name and status as "The Chosen One's Return" is very much not literal, despite the origins of his character in ''IV''. [[spoiler: Nonetheless, he has managed to inherit the legacy of both of Alan's previous stick figures debuting in ''I'' and ''II'', only with far greater power behind both their defining traits, namely Victim's ingenuity and Chosen One's FlyingBrick powers.]]
* OneManArmy: As the ending of ''IV'' shows, he can beat up his four friends all at the same time without breaking a sweat. [[spoiler:This trope holds even more true in "The Showdown", after he activates an EleventhHourSuperpower strong enough to finish off the Dark Lord.]]
* OnlySaneMan: Tends towards this in the newer animations.
* ThePowerOfCreation: In the ''[=AvA=]'' animations, their power tends to relate to their utilisation of tools create: wielding a [[ThePenIsMightier pencil]] and using related animation implements to create actual weapons or spawn beasts. This is in contrast to The Chosen One's superpowers and the Fighting Stick Figures' martial arts, and serves as symbolism for how Second Coming is on friendlier terms the artistically-oriented Animator than the other stick figures.
* RedemptionDemotion: The Chosen One had the ability to toss around fireballs and shoot things with laser eye beams and left Alan with a broken PC before leaving; the Second Coming is limited to MacGyvering tools and (admittedly awesome) martial arts/acrobatics and has made peace with Alan. [[spoiler: {{Subverted}} in ''The Showdown'', where he turns out to have his own powers, just not so easily accessed.]]
* {{Reincarnation}}: Of The Chosen One, and, as it turns out in ''Animation vs. [=YouTube=]'', Victim. [[spoiler:The Chosen One returning for the ''Animator vs. Animation Shorts'' seems to turn this notion on its head; for all intents and purposes, the Second Coming is the new Chosen One, but the original had survived the destruction of Alan's old PC. However, the Second Coming still has superpowers similiar to the Chosen One's]].
* {{Retcon}}: He was originally meant to be a reincarnation of the Chosen One [[spoiler:until Animator vs. Animation V, where the Chosen One himself is revealed to have been alive]].
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge:
** Goes on this when the Animator ends his friends.
** [[spoiler:He goes on a brief one against the Dark Lord in ''The Showdown'' after seeing his friends killed, gaining [[EleventhHourSuperpower 11th-Hour Superpowers]] in the process.]]
* StatusQuoIsGod: [[spoiler:Sure, he's got his own powers like The Chosen One and The Dark Lord, but he's one of the main characters, so how do you make sure he isn't overpowered for the rest of the series? Make him forget that he has powers, of course!]]
* SupportingProtagonist: Downplayed. While still TheHero, some of the ''[=AvM=] Shorts'' episodes have him take a backseat, allowing the Fighting Stick Figures to have the spotlight.
* TurnedAgainstTheirMasters: Wants the creator dead for killing his friends. He gets over it when they're revived.
* TurnsRed:
** When he loses his temper--as in IV--he blinks in and out with the Chosen One's appearance.
** In ''The Showdown'', [[spoiler:he gains super powers in order to defeat the Dark Lord, after the Dark Lord killed all his friends and beat him to a pulp.]]

!!!'''Fighting Stick Figures'''
A group of four stick figures from an internet animation where they fight each other. They befriend the Second Coming when he shows them the world outside of their source material.
[[folder:In General]]
* BackFromTheDead:
** They are seemingly deleted by the Animator during ''Animator vs. Animation IV'', only to come back when he refreshes the page they came from.
** They are killed by [[spoiler:the Dark Lord]] during "[[spoiler:The Showdown]]", but they come back when [[spoiler:the Second Coming revives them using the Dark Lord's console]].
* BadassNormal: Unless they enter a game, they have no powers, but they are still good fighters.
* BreakoutCharacter: Went from minor characters serving as a reason for the Second Coming to rampage to the secondary heroes of the series.
* ChromaticArrangement: They are red, green, blue and yellow.
* ColourfulThemeNaming: They all have the same name as their respective color.
* DeathIsCheap: When they die in the ''Minecraft'' world, they simply respawn in their animation window and if the animator directly deletes them, he can bring them back by refreshing the window.
* DivergentCharacterEvolution: Because of their limited screentime, they don't really have unique personalities in ''Animator Vs Animation IV'', but the following videos give them distinct character traits with Red being an animal lover, Yellow being good at engineering and coding, Blue loving gardening, potion and food-making (and having a bad Nether Wart addiction), and Green being the best architect and musician.
* EnsembleCast: Alongside The Second Coming, they are the series' main protagonists.
* InexplicablyIdenticalIndividuals: For unknown reasons, they look exactly like Purple and [[spoiler:King]], despite the two not coming from the fighting animation. Though the Chosen One's ImagineSpot of the [=ViraBots=] causing chaos in ''The Flashback'' implies that the design they share is something far from uncommon.
* MeanCharacterNiceActor: In the animation they come from, they fight each other for no reason, but when the animation isn't playing, they are friendly.
* PaletteSwap: They look exactly the same except for their colors.
* SatelliteCharacter: They were originally one of these, serving with no purpose other than giving the Second Coming a reason to battle the Animator. However, they quickly leave the area and get their own personalities.
* ShoutOut: They are inspired by all the fighting stick figures that can be found on the internet. The animation they come from is directly inspired by the most popular ''WebAnimation/XiaoXiao'' episode with a similar background.
* TookALevelInBadass: Throughout the ''[=AvM=]'' Shorts, they gradually get more and more skilled with Minecraft.
** Throughout the first season, the use of redstone was mainly Yellow's domain. ''Redstone Academy'' has him teach the other sticks about the nuances of redstone, and once they know all the mechanics, they're skilled enough with it to build contraptions that reflect their preferences.
** ''Note Blocks'' has each stick figure manning one instrument for a band, and Second Coming resorting to turning the PC's volume down. ''Note Block Battle'' has Green one-manning an entire composition with the use of tripwires to reach the blocks that don't fit in his immediate vicinity, and Second Coming crashing the resulting battle with an electric guitar solo.
** ''The Nether'' has Green and Blue helpless against a small group of zombie pigmen, having to mount a Ghast in order to turn the tide. ''The Piglin War'' has Blue able to simultaneously slaughter a zombified Piglin horde ''and'' keep a living Piglin hunting squad at bay non-lethally, all on his own.

[[folder:Green]]
!![=StickFigureGreen=]
[[quoteright:182:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/green_92.png]]
A green stick figure from a short fighting animation the Animator watched, who quickly becomes the Second Coming's friend. He's very good at building.
----
* TheAce: His defining character trait as of ''vs. Minecraft''. Hell, he once even made a better robot than Yellow's, causing the latter stick figure to collapse in shame. That said, there are just a few fields that he's less skilled at than his peers, which would make him closer to a JackOfAllTrades.
* BestFriend: He’s probably the closest friend to Second Coming. In ''Animator vs. Animation IV'', he is the first to greet and welcome Second Coming then runs to hug him before he disappeared as the last stick figure, and he gives him a friendly hug in the epilogue before they have a sparing match. In ''vs. Minecraft'', in addition to being the second stick figure to interact with the Minecraft block, he also personally helps to pull Second Coming away from being killed despite his own injuries and near defeat at the hands of a possessed Red. In ''vs. [=YouTube=]'', he helps Second Coming defeat [=YouTube=] itself. In the [=SkyBlock=] arc of the ''[=AvM=]'' shorts, he’s also the one who misses Second Coming the most. Right before reuniting with him in The Dolphin Kingdom video, Green makes it known to the others that he misses him as he is looking at a picture of them all. And as soon as they do get back together, he’s the first to hug Second Coming. Needless to say, while the group as a whole is close, Green is extremely close to Second Coming.
* BloodKnight: Likes violent action movies, according to ''vs. Website/YouTube''. [[FridgeBrilliance Which makes sense, considering he came from one]].
* DeathIsCheap: [[spoiler:Dies in ''[=PvP=]'', only to respawn sans inventory in the original "Stick Figures Fight" room, per ''Minecraft'' rules.]]
* {{Deuteragonist}}: Of ''vs. [=YouTube=]''. He's the one who defeats [=YouTube=], with the Second Coming's help, by uploading himself as a video so that the website can't punch him and pushing it apart from the inside.
* HiddenDepths: A master of music surprisingly. He takes to noteblocks like a fish to water. [[spoiler:After arriving in ''Note Block Universe'', he eventually learns to "speak" in Note Block sounds.]]
* InstantExpert: The Second Coming gives him the Minecraft block and he manages to build ''a working windmill'' in ''vs. Minecraft'' in less than a minute while he's off-screen. He's also the one who first figures out the zombie spawner, destroying it with his pickaxe, and builds an entire jamming session after watching the note blocks for a few seconds in ''Note Blocks''.
* TheLancer: To the Second Coming, being both his BestFriend and the first (and sometimes only) person to back him up, such as in ''vs. [=YouTube=]''.
* RodAndReelRepurposed: Starting from "Parkour", Green always has a fishing rod on him whether he would use it as a [[GrapplingHookPistol grappling hook]], bind enemies with it or when in combat, he uses to grapple or throw any opponent.
* RunningGag: Almost every time he wins a build contest, [[SoreLoser someone tries to throw TNT at it]]. He's gotten used to it by Season 2.
* SuddenlyVoiced: Green learns to "speak" in Note Block sounds after being pressured by some Villagers in ''Note Block Universe''. Downplayed in that it's not really speech but still a form of audible communication.
* ThrowingYourSwordAlwaysWorks: In ''vs. Minecraft''.
* TookALevelInBadass: When he first debuted in Animator vs. Animation IV, he was the one whose ass got kicked the most. In later videos, he's shown to be the most skilled out of the stick figures, even surprassing Yellow's engineer skills once.

[[folder:Yellow]]
!![=StickFigureYellow=]
[[quoteright:173:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yellow_5.png]]
[[RuleofThree A yellow stick figure from a short fighting animation the Animator watched, who quickly becomes the Second Coming's friend.]] He's an expert at coding.
----
* ADayInTheLimelight: Gets the most focus out of all the stick figures, including Second Coming, in ''vs. Arcade Games''.
* AwesomeEgo: He builds ''two'' massive statues of himself on the roller coaster ride.

[[folder:Blue]]
!![=StickFigureBlue=]
[[quoteright:180:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/blue_11.png]]
[[OverlyLongGag A blue stick figure from a short fighting animation the Animator watched, who quickly becomes the Second Coming's friend.]] He enjoys gardening and alchemy.
----
* AlchemyIsMagic:
** ''Potions'' has him discover and subsequently experiment with Minecraft's brewing mechanics.
** In ''[=PvP=]'', he's shown brewing potions of invisibility to give himself and Red an edge in the fight.
* ArcherArchetype: He often wields a bow in the ''Minecraft'' episodes. Also, in ''vs. League of Legends'', he becomes the Rogue of the team, bow and all.
* BizarreTasteInFood: Blue ''[[ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin really]]'' likes eating nether wart, which isn't normally edible in Minecraft.
* CaringGardener: His first impulse with the Minecraft block is to grow a garden, and he's introduced lovingly tending his garden in ''Potions''. When Red's pig goes after his plants, he's visibly upset.
* CastFromMoney: In the videos for [=#TeamTrees and #TeamSeas=], the effects of dollar donations are represented by Blue's superpowers, which work like this. Throw a bill on empty ground, grow a tree. Throw a bill on oceanic trash, cause it to vanish.
* ChekhovsSkill: Blue smacking himself in the face with his freshly-grown tree [[spoiler:is the key to defeating a possessed Red at the end of ''vs. Minecraft''.]]
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: Blue is basically a nether wart addict.
** The second he gets a taste in ''Potions'', he falls in love with it.
** In ''Command Blocks'', he is shown eating them and offers some to Green, who refuses.
** In ''Redstone Academy'', his build is related to them.
** In ''Lucky Blocks'', once Yellow has possession of the orb that spawns what can come out of a Lucky Block, he gives Blue a wand that instantly spawns full-grown nether wart, to Blue's delight.
** Taken to its logical extreme in Season 3, as his addiction kickstarts the entire plot.
*** In ''The Piglin War'', he keeps eating nether wart while preparing delicious food that he won't even eat, Blue panics when realising he's out of nether wart, and goes to the Nether just to get it (and a flashback shows he did it before). He is visibly saddened when there's no nether wart in the Nether and practically gives up until the Second Coming (or rather, a witch) drops one on the floor, and he instantly goes after it. After realising he's out of them, instead of just using Creative Block to drop them like anyone would do, he goes after the Nether without even thinking out of sheer panic.
*** In ''The Witch'', the first thing he does after entering the portal is wondering where is nether wart. The Witch turns him into a piston as part of an automatic nether wart farm, relying on him to automatically lunge after it and break it. His body language indicates that he doesn't even realize the ForcedTransformation at first, and not being able to eat the nether wart growing in front of him is basically his own personal hell. To make matters worse, his friends seem happy for him when they see that "Blue" did manage to find some nether wart, even after his search dragged them through the Nether looking for him, making them come across as enablers.
*** In ''The Ultimate Weapon'', Blue is initially hesitant to join King when offered, due to remembering how that went with Purple. He changes his mind when he sees his offered throne is surrounded by nether wart; emphasized by the slow manner with which he puts on the crown and walks toward the throne while reaching out towards it, almost like he's hypnotized, only snapping out of it when Green breaks in to explain King's true intentions.
** In ''[[https://youtu.be/dOyE-nEUco4 Carrot on a Stick]]'', Red, Green, and the Second Coming are racing on the backs of a Pig, Cow, and Dog, respectively; luring them with their favorite food on a fishing rod (Carrot, Wheat, and a Bone). Yellow ends up zooming past them while riding on Blue's back and luring him with Nether Wart.
** In ''[[https://youtu.be/g5FCa7myUwY Color Confusion]]'', Blue is shown drawing Nether Wart as Yellow sneaks up on him.
** In ''[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baUkeYKZa9Y Fireworks]]'', Blue spends most of the short munching on Nether Wart. Eventually Green gets fed up and smacks the Nether Wart out of Blue's hands, but Blue just picks it back up and eats it in one bite out of defiance.
* ICantBelieveItsNotHeroin: While not exactly high after it, his "addiction" to nether wart rather seems like a heroin addiction.
* ImprobableAimingSkills: In the climax of ''vs. Minecraft'', [[spoiler:a well-timed arrow tossed at the Minecraft block saves it from getting grabbed by Red.]]
* ObsessedWithFood: His second character trait after CaringGardener: he's typically associated with food. He prepares a cake in ''The Nether'', the videos for [=#TeamTrees and #TeamSeas=] are about him running food stands, and in ''The Piglin War'' his first reaction to seeing the new Nether is trying to eat the unfamilliar flora.
* SoreLoser: He does ''not'' [[StuffBlowingUp graciously concede]] to Green winning the building contest.
* PapaWolf: To the Piglin Child.
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: [[AlienKudzu Nether Wart]], of all things. He discovers its taste in ''Potions'' and is seen snacking on it like potato chips in ''Command Blocks''.
