* UnnecessarilyCruelRejection: The T.V. series opens with Keiichi trying to ask out Sayoko, only for her to laugh in his face, tell him that, among other things, he was just too short, and completely reject him. Worse yet, she didn't even remember doing this, because once Keiichi is with Belldandy, Sayoko tries to ask him out, wanting what Belldandy has, only for Keiichi to remind her, gently, of the way she'd turned him down, saying he was fully aware that she didn't actually love him for him. The irony being, his earnestness and sincerity are actually starting to win her over, but so long as Belldandy is there, she knows she can never have him.

[[folder:Megumi Morisato]]
[[quoteright:199:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/megumi_morisato_anime.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YurikoFuchizaki (JP); Creator/EmilyJenness (EN–TV), Creator/AmandaSpivey (EN–OVA), Creator/StephanieGreene (EN–Movie), Love Santini (LA Spanish-OVA)

Keiichi Morisato's younger sister. Like him, she attends the Nekomi Institute of Technology as an engineering student. Megumi is also a very skilled mechanic and motorcycle driver. She goes on to become the "queen" of bike racers around Nekomi. Belldandy has remarked that she sees a similarity between Megumi and Skuld, and that she would like to see Skuld learn some things from Megumi. In stark contrast to Keiichi's legendary bad luck with girls pre-Belldandy, Megumi is very popular with boys, but she is not lucky in love because all of her boyfriends feel [[NoGuyWantsAnAmazon eclipsed by her motor-queen status]]. The Dark Horse translation suggests there's also a bit of BigBrotherWorship verging on BigBrotherAttraction, as she says to herself after losing yet another boy, "You'll never hold a candle to Keiichi."
----
* TheAlcoholic: Only when she gets dumped, at which point she then goes to unload on Keiichi and (along with an equally drunk Urd) proceeds to pick on him, much to his chagrin.
* BadassBiker: The "Queen of the Ridge", a title she earned by winning ''multiple races around a mountain road against the previous holder using a much less powerful bike''. She doesn't like the title.
* BigEater: In her early manga appearances she's constantly snacking. This was phased out after ArtEvolution made her more attractive.
* CelebrityIsOverrated: She is the so-called "Motor-Queen" of NIT. She doesn't like it that much because whenever she starts dating someone, her "subjects" turn antagonistic towards said person because of her status, and dating her is carrying a banner. The other problem is that she is the Queen whether she likes it or not.
* DivingSave: [[spoiler:In ''First End'', Keiichi dies in this manner [[BigBrotherInstinct to save her life in a traffic accident]].]]
* ForcedTransformation: One early manga chapter deals with Mara transforming Megumi into a nice sports car. As Megumi was still in her BigEater phase, she demanded the premium gasoline when she "got hungry."
* NoGuyWantsAnAmazon: Every guy she dates breaks up with her because they can't handle the pressure going out with the Nekomi's [[InSeriesNickname Queen of the Ridge]].
* OvershadowedByAwesome: Not many know it, but she refuses to be called Queen (short for "Queen of the Ridge") because, in her words, the true king is Keiichi, and Belldandy his queen.
* PassionateSportsGirl: She's in the Softball Club, is very good at the sport, and is very determined to keep the club alive.
* PlayfulCatSmile: Her default is a playful cat smile, which shows off her cute PluckyGirl nature. It's even more pronounced [[DemonicPossession when Mara took over her body]].
* PluckyGirl: Nothing fazes her.
* ShipperOnDeck: She's quick to notice that Keiichi is in love with Belldandy and she reciprocates. One of the reasons she choose not to live with him at the shrine was to avoid getting in the way of their relationship.
* ShoutOut: Possibly named after the actress and singer Megumi Mori. They even share some resemblance to each other, especially during her first manga appearance.
%%* WrenchWench: As a Morisato, she's gotta be.

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/KiyoyukiYanada (JP); Creator/MarcMatney (EN–OVA), Creator/BobPapenbrook (EN–Movie), Creator/MarcThompson (EN–TV Series), Enrique Cervantes (LA Spanish-OVA)

One of the former directors of the Motor Club and Keiichi's sempai. Recognizable by his muscular body and thick lips. Is almost never seen without his [[HeterosexualLifePartners partner]] Otaki by his side.
----
* BigEater: Is notorious for his huge appetite. In the Golden Hammer Rally, the prize money for the race (which Keiichi and Belldandy won) had to be withheld due to him and friends consuming all the food provided by the sponsors.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Extremely competent with the mechanical side of cars and motorbikes, and just as crazy.
* CloudCuckoolander: Both him and Otaki are a tad eccentric.
* DropInCharacter: Frequently pops out of nowhere and [[StealthHiBye disappears into nowhere]]. He almost always appears behind Keiichi, usually to announce Motor Club-related stuff.
* {{Gonk}}: The guy is freaky-looking, more so ''after'' ArtEvolution. His sunken eyes and fish lips are the main factor.
* TheGlomp: How Tamiya welcomes all new members of the Auto Club. Most end up quitting immediately.
%%* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Otaki.
* InSeriesNickname: Is called "Den-chan" by Otaki.
* JustFriends: Tamiya and Otaki might be inconsiderate, brutish and dismissive of Keiichi, but they are the only two young men that never ogle at Belldandy even once. If anything, they're surprisingly respectful of their relationship.
* MistakenForGay: When he talks to Keiichi about Peorth (who he had a crush on) on a corner, the goddess assumes that those two are into each other.
* ThemeNaming: Tamiya, Otaki, and Hasegawa are all named for Japanese model-making companies.
* TopHeavyGuy: He becomes bulkier as the series progresses. Originally he's the same size as Otaki.

One of the former directors of the Motor Club and Keiichi's sempai. Is almost never seen without his [[HeterosexualLifePartners partner]] Tamiya by his side. Always wears a black biker jacket and spark plugs for earrings. Eventually, he starts dating Satoko Yamano, one of the campus's most attractive female students.
----
* BunnyEarsLawyer: Extremely competent with the mechanical side of cars and motorbikes, and just as crazy.
* CloudCuckoolander: Both he and Tamiya are a tad eccentric.
* CrazyPrepared: This guy wears ''functional spark plugs'' for earrings. He always have spare parts ready, even during summer vacations.
* {{Cosplay}}: His hobby, also one of the things he shares with Satoko.
* EightiesHair: A mullet.
* EvenNerdsHaveStandards: Although he and his girlfriend are both cosplayers, he finds Mr. Yamano's interest in cosplay to be so intense as to be kind of creepy.
* HeterosexualLifePartners: With Tamiya (though unlike Tamiya, he gets a girlfriend).
* InSeriesNickname: Is called "Dai-chan" by Tamiya.
* JustFriends: Tamiya and Otaki might be inconsiderate, brutish and dismissive of Keiichi, but they are the only two young men that never ogle at Belldandy even once. If anything, they're surprisingly respectful of their relationship.
* LiteralMinded: When he asked what he should wear for a dinner at Satoko's house, Belldandy suggested something noble and elegant like a knight- so he went with his plate mail armor.
* ThemeNaming: Tamiya, Otaki and Hasegawa are all named for Japanese model-making companies.
* WhyDidItHaveToBeSnakes: Otaki is afraid of dogs.

Keiichi's kohai. The former treasurer, bookkeeper, and as of "Sora Unchained", arc-the director of the N.I.T. Motor Club. Incidentally the only member of the club who does not motorcycle as she prefers cars instead.
----
* ACupAngst: Much to her chagrin she has a flat figure, and rants about it while drunk.
* TheAlcoholic: She has been known to get very plotzed at social gatherings. Unfortunately for everyone, she's a depressed drunk, and wallows in self-pity about her below-average (by NIT standards) looks, height, and chest size.
* AllGirlsWantBadBoys: She's in love with her classmate [[JerkAss Toshiyuki Aoshima]], but she's too timid to do anything about it. Aoshima isn't nearly as jerky with her as with other people (at least he knows her name, which is something).
* BeleagueredBureaucrat: As the treasurer of the Motor Club, she is the ultimate person that says what can/cannot be done with budget, which brings her considerable angst. Unwittingly, she starts being seen as an authority and later becomes the director of the Motor Club. She might not be a gear-head, but she is at the very least a very good bookkeeper and administrator.
* BespectacledCutie: She is a shy platonic friend of the protagonist who wears glasses.
* CoolCar: She drives a tuned-up original Fiat 500. She later buys a motorcycle built by Tamiya and Otaki.
* HiddenDepths: Revealed to have good direction skills in the "Sora Unchained" arc; she knows how to find which shortcuts to use depending on the time and the situation.
* HollywoodToneDeaf: [[FunnyBackgroundEvent In the background]] of the party scene in TheMovie, she can be heard getting drunk and singing karaoke ''very badly.'' Thankfully, a normal version of the song she sings appears on the soundtrack.
* InformedAbility: Implied to be a WrenchWench by virtue of her being in the Nekomi Motor Cycle Club as well as a few comments by the other club members, though we never actually see her working on anything.
* LethalChef: Her nickname was the "Chef Murderer". Belldandy eventually [[CharacterDevelopment helps her get better]].
** Subverted in the anime, she was actually a great cook, but suffered a HeroicBSOD whenever asked to cook for an audience, causing her skills to deteriorate. This tied into the plot of the episode, where she had performance-anxiety issues about a go-kart race for NIT's Auto Club. Again, Belldandy, being the kind of [[PhysicalGoddess "person"]] she is, helped Sora get back on track [[{{Pun}} (heh)]].
* OlderThanTheyLook: A college student who looks like a schoolgirl. Mentioning this will anger her.
* OpaqueNerdGlasses: Her glasses become these anytime she's out of focus in a panel or placed in a comical situation.
* ThemeNaming: Tamiya, Otaki, and Hasegawa are all named for Japanese model-making companies.
* YouthfulFreckles: One of the factors contributing to her schoolgirl appearance is her freckled cheeks.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Sayoko Mishima]]
[[quoteright:158:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sayoko_shifuku2.png]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/JunkoAsami (JP–OVA), Creator/MamikoNoto (JP–TV); Creator/KarenNeill (EN–TV), Creator/BelindaBizic (EN–OVA), Creator/XochitlUgarte (LA Spanish-OVA)

A popular girl at Nekomi Tech, to the point that she considers herself the "queen" of the school. She is reasonably intelligent (as a member of the school's engineering program), and quite rich – she's the scion of a family that runs an industrial conglomerate. Befitting her status, she has her own apartment, an expensive car, and gets to throw lavish parties with very important people. Given her many desirable attributes, it's no shock that she was pursued by the vast majority of NIT's male students, Keiichi included. In his case, Sayoko blew off his advances without a second thought.

Belldandy's appearance caused Sayoko's world to come crashing down around her. Overnight, all the guys turned their attention to (the obviously already-taken) Belldandy rather than her. Sayoko immediately becomes jealous of her, and figures the best way to upset her is by seducing Keiichi. When that fails, she teams up with NIT's resident {{Jerkass}} Toshiyuki Aoshima (her younger cousin) and, later still, Mara to bring Belldandy down. Naturally, they fail.

As the series progresses, she gradually becomes less and less antagonistic, even offering Keiichi relationship advice and foiling Mara's schemes. It seems as though she develops feelings for Keiichi at the beginning of Season 2, when she didn't feel as lonely when he was with her. Sayoko has seen both Urd and Belldandy use their powers, although she becomes convinced instead that Belldandy is a witch (despite her outright admitting to Sayoko that she is a goddess). She is shown to have a lot of pride, and seems to almost enjoy competing with Belldandy at times.
----
* ACupAngst: {{Downplayed|Trope}}. She'd hardly flat, but [[BuxomBeautyStandard doesn't size up to Urd's buxom figure and feels humiliated when the guys prefer Urd over her at the beauty pageant]], especially when Urd starts mocking her for it.
* AmbiguousSyntax: At the end of the Queen Sayoko arc, she is forced by Mara to command Belldandy to "go back home" with the firm intention of sending Belldandy back to Heaven; turns out, Belldandy's home isn't heaven anymore, it's the Tarikihongan Temple at Nekomi, which is precisely where an inconsolable Keiichi finds her when he returns "home".
* ArbitrarySkepticism: She realizes that something is up with Belldandy, but refuses to believe her when she says she's a goddess. Instead, she assumes she's lying and is really a witch. In the anime, she even assumes that "Goddess" is merely a title because she calls herself "Queen".
* BeneathTheMask: She'd actually like Belldandy if she stopped praising herself so much, and the residents of Tarikihongan wouldn't object to calling her a friend should she just lay off her pride. As a matter of fact, she's the only person that ever comes close to ''not liking Belldandy'' and ''not being liked by Belldandy'', although being bombarded with kindness from her reduced it to just plain avoidance in the end.
* BitchAlert: The first time we see her (in Keiichi's flashback, no less) we can guess she's a bitch.
* BondageIsBad: In one story she brings along some members of the NIT BDSM Club to restrain Keiichi for her, telling him they're "good friends" of hers.
* CharacterDevelopment: Starts out as wanting to steal Keiichi simply to beat Belldandy, but later on seems to develop [[BecomingTheMask genuine feelings for him.]] Like Urd, how she was drawn later on also reflects her character development; she's gradually drawn to look less bitchy and menacing.
* CommutingOnABus: Sayoko is a prominent character in the early part of the story, but once Keiichi graduates from NIT, she is reduced to the odd rare appearance, in the manga sometimes going years (in the real world) without showing up.
* EvilIsPetty: When first introduced, she literally has it all - beauty, brains, money, and a powerful family that owns an influential corporation. But because Belldandy upstaged her in the desirability department, she becomes an emotional wreck and shows off a mile-wide vindictive streak. Naturally, Mara takes advantage of this more than once in her attempts to mess with Belldandy.
* HarmlessVillain: Doesn't really have that much of an evil streak. Possibly because she does seem to develop genuine feelings for Keiichi and other antagonists overshadow her quickly.
* IJustWantToHaveFriends: Most of the problems she faces against the Goddesses stem from the fact that she is a very lonely person. The main problem is that she wants what she cannot have, which is Keiichi.
* {{Jerkass}}: Early-on in the anime and the manga, at least; she's not as bad in the OVA.
* LadyDrunk: She readily drowns her sorrows after anything bad happens to her.
* LadyKillerInLove: A Gender Inversion.
--> '' "Why do the words and the smile of a pathetic guy like him have the power to make a queen like me feel like such a piece of garbage?" ''
* LastLousyPoint: She has money, an important name, social status, attractiveness and a line of suitors; the only problem is that she doesn't have any friends and the first and only person she wants affection from doesn't see her that way... ''he just wants her as a friend''. This, of course, bugs her to no end.
%%* ManipulativeBitch: At the beginning.
* NoblewomansLaugh: She's an {{Ojou}} with a haughty ohoho signature laugh.
* NoChallengeEqualsNoSatisfaction: When Sayoko [[spoiler:mind controls Belldandy into a loyal slave]], her expression shows she doesn't feel it was a victory. She ends up breaking the contract that let her win and explains to Mara that a victory achieved via another's power meant nothing compared to personally [[spoiler:crushing her rival]].
* {{Ojou}}: She's a young, attractive woman who's the AlphaBitch in NIT and heiress to a major car producer.
* OOCIsSeriousBusiness: {{Implied|Trope}}. During the Chrono arc, Belldandy, Keiichi and Chrono find Sayoko drumming on cans on the street. She argues that she felt the need to bang on the cans, but unlike the rest of the people who are victims of the program, she is aware that something is wrong, it's not something that she would rationally do and she is somewhat aware that Keiichi and Belldandy are able to do something about it, so she asks him for help.
* ProudBeauty: She's quite vain and openly brags about having a nearly flawless figure.
* RichBitch: Originally, though it was revealed that she was a LonelyRichKid deep inside.
* TheRival: Fancies herself as this to Belldandy. [[SarcasmMode It's gone quite well for her.]]
* SingleWomanSeeksGoodMan: It was [[NiceGuy Keiichi]] whom she wanted all along, creating an UnrequitedLoveSwitcheroo situation for her.
* StarterVillain: In the manga, Sayoko is the first major story antagonist, and features heavily in that role over the first few volumes. She starts to fade from prominence after more supernaturally-oriented villains like Mara are introduced and gradually becomes less antagonistic over time as well.
* UnfazedEveryman: RareFemaleExample. Mara gave her a freakin' palace and complete dominion over its physics from thin air, but somehow she is still skeptical about Belldandy and her sisters being anything other than regular women.
* UnknownRival: To Belldandy, who is blissfully unaware and even considers her a friend.
* VictoryIsBoring: [[spoiler: When a wish from Mara puts Belldandy in a spot where Sayoko has mind-controlled her, she loses interest in having Belldandy bow to her because she wants to prove herself better on her own terms.]] Mara had other plans, but they didn't work out.
* WorthyOpponent: She eventually comes to see Belldandy as this and even begins to betray some admiration for her. It doesn't help her case as a rival when Keiichi, Belldandy and her sisters do express sincere concern for her well being. Belldandy herself has made clear that ''she doesn't want Sayoko as her rival'', but she'd fight for Keiichi against her if she has to. Pig-headed as she is, Sayoko doesn't quite get all the hints Belldandy leaves her, so there's that.
* WrenchWench: {{Implied|Trope}}. She attended NIT with Belldandy and Keiichi- although she didn't become a gearhead like them, going into electronics instead. As her father is the owner of one the largest car model producers in Japan, it's assumed that Sayoko went to NIT mainly to study mechanical and automotive design.

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/NobuoTobita (JP); Creator/MarcDiraison (EN–TV), Creator/ScottHoule (EN–OVA), Roberto Mendiola (LA Spanish-OVA)

A playboy around the Nekomi Institute of Technology campus, Sayoko's cousin, Belldandy and Keiichi's underclassman and Hasegawa's classmate. He is enamored of Belldandy and tries often to steal her away from Keiichi, going as far as to set up a rival motor club. However, in just about all of his attempts, he fails miserably. In the TV series, he and his cousin Sayoko can be identified by the supercars that they drive, in Aoshima's case, an Enzo Ferrari (Ferrari 288 GTO in the manga).
----
* AttemptedRape: Almost had his way with both Belldandy and [[OvernightAgeUp Skuld]] in separate occasions but failed.
* BreakTheHaughty: Thinks ''extremely'' highly of himself and Karma's a bitch.
* TheCasanova: Especially towards Belldandy and Adult!Skuld.
%%* FourEyesZeroSoul: Jerk. Ass. Extraordinare.
* GoodHairEvilHair: Especially in the manga, Aoshima is always shown to comb his hair back.
* {{Jerkass}}: Not only is he a jerk to everyone else, but he attempts to steal Belldandy away from Keiichi.
* LaserGuidedKarma: He often brings misfortune upon himself because of his cruel actions.
* PetTheDog: He finally showed a bit of concern when he found Sora in pain. [[spoiler:And promptly got knocked out by her rapidly expanding boobs!]]
* ShipperOnDeck: In chapter 49, he tries to ship Keiichi and Sora together so that he can have Belldandy for himself.

[[folder:Chihiro Fujimi]]
[[quoteright:315:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/coverimage_103046.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:319:[[labelnote:Click here to see Chihiro in the TV Anime]]https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chihiro2_8.png[[/labelnote]]]]

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/YukaImai (JP); Creator/DorothyEliasFahn (EN–Movie), Creator/VeronicaTaylor (EN–TV Series)

The original founder and director of the Nekomi Institute of Technology Motor Club. She is a resolute person and an incredibly skilled mechanic and motorcycle driver, even more so than Keiichi. She gives up professional racing and starts up her own motorcycle shop called Whirlwind, hiring Keiichi and Belldandy to work for her (with Tamiya and Otaki as temps and backup). Normally a no-nonsense personality, she has a soft spot for cute objects, cats, and children, and seems to enjoy relaxing activities (such as bathing in an onsen) and having fun. She drives a Krauser Domani [=SSi=]. When she was director of the N.I.T. motor club, both Tamiya and Otaki confessed they loved her but she turned them both down rather than cause conflict in the club. Both Tamiya and Otaki respect and fear her very much, obediently following her orders.
----
* AuthorAppeal: The cool-headed, mature "goddess of mechanics" seems to be the mangaka's personal dream girl. Maybe this is why she is not romantically interested in anyone.
* BenevolentBoss: Chihiro is Keiichi's friend '''first''' and his boss second. She's even willing to go to his house to check on him if there are mere hints that something's not OK.
* BunnyEarsLawyer: She's a pilot as good as Keiichi, and even better than him as a mechanic. She's also the founder and first president of the Motor Club and Tamiya and Otaki's worthy predecessor, and extremely prone to join the shenanigans of the rest of the group.
* CoolBigSis: For Keiichi, and later for Megumi in all but name. As Hasegawa's sempai at the Motor Club, she serves this purpose along with Keiichi.
* CutenessProximity: Chihiro is a sucker for anything cute.
* TheDreaded: Is introduced as tremendously scary by Tamiya and Otaki before she becomes a regular cast member. Keiichi soon learns that it isn't all hyperbole.
* IronLady: Can cow Tamiya and Otaki with a single glance.
* LateToTheParty: After their ordeal with the Lorelei, the fatigued gang returns to the hotel and ends up collapsing together on the floor. Chihiro finds them and throws a fit, so they assume she thinks that they did funny stuff together; she's upset that they didn't invite her to the booze.
* NoodleIncident: The reason why Tamiya and Otaki are so terrified of her is never explicitly described in-universe. Keiichi is too scared to ask while the other Motor Club members are given cryptic unhelpful answers. Belldandy is the only one who knows the full story (see TheOneThatGotAway below).
* NotSoAboveItAll: She's certainly dedicated to her business and professionalism, but if she gets even a hint that Keiichi and the goddesses are involved in some shenanigans, she will almost always drop what she's doing to try joining in.
* TheOneThatGotAway: To Tamiya and Otaki. They both proposed to her and she turned them down (not because she doesn't love them, but because she couldn't decide between the two). One of the main reasons she keeps them around is because they are her friends and they still love her and respect her ''very'' much, though one of their misgivings is that they cannot help but to treat her as their superior all the time.
* RetiredBadass. {{Implied|Trope}}. By the way she is presented, she could have easily been a "Motor-Queen" before Megumi and the previous Queen.
* ShipperOnDeck: Ships Keiichi/Belldandy.
* SpotlightStealingSquad: Once Keiichi and Belldandy started working for her she becomes the most featured human character in the manga after Keiichi up to volume 39.
* TomboyWithAGirlyStreak: She's a tough, no-nonsense, motorcycle-riding, drag-racing, mechanical genius who's also a huge fan for everything that's even the slightest bit cute.
* VitriolicBestBuds: She's for all intents and purposes the big sister that Keiichi never had including teasing and bullying.
* WrenchWench: So much so that Keiichi says that she could be a goddess of mechanics.

[[folder:Sentaro Kawanishi]]
[[quoteright:174:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sentaro1.png]]
-->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/RomiPark (JP); Creator/BarbaraGoodson (EN)

A biker (as in bicycle) boy that befriends Skuld and becomes the object of her affections.
----
* AllergicToRoutine: He is very passionate about BMX and practices by the riverbank at every opportunity he has. Meeting Skuld only made it even better.
* EveryScarHasAStory: He gets upset at Skuld for fixing his bicycle to pristine condition because every dent in the framework meant a gradual step toward becoming better at BMX. He is particularly upset at her for erasing the dent that resulted from the accident he had when he first met ''her''.
* TheEveryman: Apart from his passion for BMX, Sentaro is just a regular schoolkid.
* {{Expy}}: Perhaps unsurprisingly considering Creator/KosukeFujishima's penchant for OnlySixFaces, but he has a lot of physical and behavioral similarities to [[VideoGame/SakuraWars Ichiro Ogami]] and [[VideoGame/TalesOfSymphonia Lloyd Irving]].
* MentorArchetype: This is the type of relationship he has with Belldandy, who is more than ready to coach him regarding his pursuit of Skuld. The more he talks with Belldandy, the more he wants to be with Skuld.
* ThePowerOfLove: Meeting Sentaro made Skuld considerably more familiar with wielding her powers.
* PyrrhicVictory: Skuld getting closer to Sentaro caused her to lose Noble Scarlet the first time. [[spoiler:She wouldn't see her angel again until ''Fighting Wings''.]]
* RelationshipUpgrade: As curious as it sounds, it's Skuld who is trying to court Sentaro and not the other way around; she's actively trying to take it one step ahead, though she's slow and inexperienced at it.
* SecretKeeper: Skuld doesn't keep any secrets from Sentaro, having openly admitted to being a goddess when asked what she was.
* SingleTargetSexuality: He aims only for Skuld, even when Urd throws herself at him to spite Skuld.
* UnfazedEveryman: He seems to be the only person outside Tarikihongan that is fully aware that Skuld and her sisters are genuine goddesses. He doesn't pay mind to that in the very least.
* VitriolicBestBuds: He's Skuld's best friend and they both take with dismay the very thought of not being able to see each other, but an outsider may not immediately realize this given their usual interaction.

[[quoteright:217:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yamano_shifuku.png]]

->Voiced by: Creator/ChieNakamura (JP); Creator/StephanieSheh (EN)

Daughter of one of the directors of the Nekomi Institute of Technology where she's a freshman in electronics. She is quite attractive – even Keiichi comments that she is one of the top five most attractive girls at Nekomi Tech.
----
* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: She disappeared from the manga rather early on, with Otaki's affections shifting back to Chihiro once she came back into his life. This makes Satoko's prominent (though brief) place in the TV series – produced some 15 years after her last manga appearance – all the odder.
* CosplayOtakuGirl: One of the things that she shares in common with Otaki.
** Apparently, she gets it from her dad, which unnerves Otaki to no end when he tries to get him to try different outfits.
%%* ShrinkingViolet: Very much shy.

[[folder:Dr. Morozumi]]
!!a.k.a. "Dr. Morrow"/ "Dr. Moreau"
[[quoteright:347:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_nomxol2m771rkpafoo1_500.jpg]]

A professor at NIT, an industrial engineer and robotics researcher, Dr. Morozumi is obsessed with perfecting the mechanics of making robots capable of walking.
----
* AbhorrentAdmirer: He is fascinated by the automaton Sigel and stalks her to kidnap her in order to dismantle her to find out the nature of her walking mechanism.
* CreepyGood: He is a man of science that is in a serious research block that makes him obsessive and reclusive. He isn't very keen in social cues and is an altogether unpleasant guy. Misguided as he is, his actions don't actually point towards him proceeding out of malice, but rather despair.
* InUniverseNickname: NIT students refer to him as "Dr. Morrow" or "Dr. Moreau" as a reference to ''Literature/TheIslandOfDoctorMoreau'' and its MadScientist {{Deuteragonist}}, especially due to his obsessive and reclusive nature.
* {{Jerkass}}: He almost kills Sigel because he doesn't consider her a living being.
* JustAMachine [=/=] NotEvenHuman: His justification to kidnap and dismantle Sigel is that he doesn't see her as a sentient being, but only as a machine.
* NeverLendToAFriend: He exploits Chihiro for mechanical parts by overplaying him being her former teacher at NIT. Problem is, there is only so much respect she has for him when he doesn't pay her back. He has owed her a lot of money for a long time.
* NoSocialSkills: The main reason most people avoid him is not only this, but also because he doesn't bother asking for permission and doesn't repay his debts.
* ScienceIsBad: He is willing to forego various moral barriers in order to advance his research. Judging by his monologue, he is way past the point of desperation.
* TheThingThatWouldNotLeave: He kidnaps Sigel even when Belldandy tells him that she's a sentient being; he becomes the unintended victim of this when Belldandy makes his inventions sentient and eager to walk... as a matter of fact, they don't shut up about it.
* WhiteAndGreyMorality: He commits crimes such as kidnapping Sigel and threatening to dismantle her to re-engineer her mechanics for the sake of science. It takes an ass kicking from Banpei and a word from Belldandy to make him see the error on his way.
* WritersBlock: The whole reason he kidnapped Sigel is because he hit an insurmountable plateau in his locomotion research.

[[folder:The Kakuta Professors]]
!!a.k.a. Nekomi Tech's Dual Horns
[[quoteright:346:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ahmygoddesskakutas.jpg]]

A married couple and professors at NIT. Professor Kakuta was Keiichi's instructor, and Keiichi later realizes that Professor Kakuta was the woman shown in the old camera's photographs.
----
* CoolTeacher: To Keiichi. Most of Professor Ozawa's students skipped his classes in order to go to Kakuta's, especially considering that Kakuta was a pleasant man whereas Ozawa wasn't.
* HappilyAdopted: Professor Kakuta was adopted by his wife's family. His original name before he legally changed it was Kenji Tobita.
* HappilyMarried: The camera arc is essentially one long exploration into the depth of their feelings for each other. As Keiichi notes at the arc's conclusion, even after some decades of being together they still see each other as the young dreamer they first fell in love with.
* IWasQuiteTheLooker: Professor Kakuta is mentioned by various characters to have been a remarkably beautiful woman in the photographs recovered from her husband's camera.
* RedOniBlueOni: He is the blue to Professor Ozawa's red.
* TheRival: He is one to Professor Ozawa, though he isn't very keen at humoring Ozawa with the rivalry. It's mostly one-sided.
* SunkCostFallacy: In 1964 he spent all of his savings on a camera to photograph his fiancee. She is not very happy about this and makes him lock the camera away.

[[folder:Professor Ozawa]]
[[quoteright:300:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ozawaprofilepic.png]]
A teacher at NIT and the self-professed rival of Professor Kakuta.
----
* {{Jerkass}}: He is an outright unpleasant man.
* JerkassHasAPoint: Though his students like to play hooky and attend Kakuta's classes, it doesn't mean that he isn't qualified to do his job. The whole situation means he is about to lose his job if he lets it worsen.
* LawfulStupid: Belldandy ''is'' actually trying to get into NIT to be with Keiichi through alternative means; Ozawa is very right to be suspicious, but for the entirely wrong reasons – a couple of these reasons are that he is suspecting foul play from Kakuta and that they (Kakuta and Belldandy) are proceeding out of malice and trying to make him look bad.
* TheRival: To Professor Kakuta, although it's only from Ozawa's perspective.
* SkippingSchool: His students do not like going to his classes and rather go to Kakuta's. Kakuta picks up his slack, but he isn't quite happy about it either.

->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/AsamiSanada (JP); Creator/EricaSchroeder (EN)

A freshman electronics student at NIT and an extremely amateurish exorcist.
----
* CuteAndPsycho: She's ''very'' pretty (enough to make Belldandy jealous), and albeit she's not that crazy, she is very delusional when it comes to her "abilities".
* DoNotTauntCthulhu: She summons Garmr by mistake and tells him that this wasn't intentional. Garmr understandably takes offense at this.
* FallingIntoHisArms: Belldandy goes ballistic because Sakakibara is a little too touchy with Keiichi, even when she's not intending to do it.
* HollywoodExorcism: She mixes up spells, casts, and even religions.
* HypocriticalHumor: Just to illustrate how clingy she is, it's '''Urd''', ''out of all people'', who gets offended and points it out to Keiichi.
* IJustWantToBeSpecial: She's deluded herself into believing that she is a good exorcist. She's dangerously unprepared at doing so.
* KnowNothingKnowItAll: She creates enormous problems and she takes credit when they are solved.
* LethalHarmlessPowers: The irony of it all is that she ''does'' have special powers in the first place, as she was able to accidentally summon Garmr with incantations. She successfully exhibits an amplified version of these powers during the Queen Sayoko arc, yet [[UselessSuperpowers she is no more a threat than she was before]].
* LoveLetterLunacy: She contacts Keiichi through a love letter in his locker, only for him to realize that she thinks that he's haunted and she wants to do the exorcism.
* NoSenseOfPersonalSpace: She is a little too cuddly with Keiichi for comfort. It's not clear whether this is the case with every one of her "clients", but it's quite enough to make Belldandy fume.
* PsychicPowers: She thinks that she can feel spirits haunting people and buildings. She doesn't realize that she's playing with fire when she summons Garmr, a hellish creature. She later thanks Keiichi with a kiss on the cheek for validating her delusions.
* WhatTheHellHero: Keiichi is unable to turn her down due to politeness and sheer excitement at the fact that someone like her is paying attention to him, but she starts overstepping her boundaries with him the longer he humors her presence. Urd even calls him out on this, as he's unwittingly making Belldandy feel increasingly like a third wheel by doing so.

[[quoteright:350:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/koshian.png]]
->'''Voiced by:''' Creator/{{Mugihito}} (JP); Creator/MikePollock (EN)

The Buddhist monk that ran the Tarikihongan Temple before it became the main protagonists' residence. He is notorious for quickly jumping to conclusions and proud of it.
----
* CoolOldGuy: He is a cheerful, caring and devout man who gave Belldandy and Keiichi shelter when they needed it the most. He made them work for it, though.
* PutOnABus: He never came back from his pilgrimage. He does show up twice in the anime, with one of his returns involving Urd and Skuld sending him back running to his travels, and the other has him temporarily kicking Keiichi and Belldandy out when the latter is infected by a demon bug.
* SpotTheImposter: He initially thinks that Belldandy is a demon, but realizes that she's the complete opposite. He decides to seek a level of enlightenment like hers and leaves the temple to engage in pilgrimage.
* TeethClenchedTeamwork: He allows Keiichi and Belldandy to stay at the temple, but he makes them do the maintenance and cleaning on it. It's especially grueling on Keiichi.
* WalkingTheEarth: He went to walk the Earth seeking spiritual enlightenment... in the late 1980's. He didn't come back at all in the manga.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: That's quite the pilgrimage he's on, considering he left the temple early in the story.

[[folder:The Motor-Queen]]
!! The Motor-Queen, The Queen of the Ridge
[[quoteright:244:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/untitled_6.png]]

A street motorcycle racer that rivals Megumi. She is mostly seen at the Inoku-Radai Circuit.
----
%%* AloofDarkHairedGirl: She has overtones of this.
* AlwaysSecondBest: She lost to Megumi twice even though she has a more powerful bike. She relents her title to Megumi due to this.
* AlwaysSomeoneBetter: Megumi lets her see that both are nowhere as good as Keiichi and Belldandy.
* BitCharacter: She's tied to the Inoku-Radai Circuit, she always wears her racing attire, she doesn't appear that much and she doesn't seem to be a student at NIT.
* BrilliantButLazy: She's an excellent rider, but she loses against Megumi and Keiichi because she performs minimal maintenance on her bike.
* HiddenDepths: Although she cultivates an image as an aloof, bad-ass racer, she's clearly a romantic at heart. She has a fondness for melodrama, composes ad-hoc poetry, and (near the end) softly whispers to her bike to apologize for treating it poorly and asks "will you let me ride you again"?
* NoNameGiven: Despite being the title character of the Motor-Queen story arc, she is never given any name other than 'The Queen'.
* UnknownRival: She's racing for the sake of racing; Megumi is racing to get to class in time.
* WeirdnessMagnet: Whenever something supernatural happens on the road, it happens to her.
%%* WorthyOpponent: To Megumi.
* WarriorPoet: If you accept 'warrior' to include a competitive racer; on multiple occasions she can be seen composing poetry inside her head, and seems mildly embarrassed when Megumi interrupts her doing it.

[[folder:Kozueko Izumi]]

A character exclusive to the book ''Ah! My Goddess!: First End'' by Yumi Tohma (as authorized by Kosuke Fujishima himself), Izumi is a student at Nekomi Tech who meets Keiichi on an event organized by the Motor Club. [[spoiler:Izumi is the person that Keiichi would have met had he and Belldandy failed to meet.]]
----
* DownerEnding: [[spoiler:Izumi and Keiichi's relationship comes to fruition at the cost of his relationship with Belldandy. Had Belldandy hung on, reality would have been shattered. In the end, the Goddesses memories are erased for their security and Belldandy only hangs on to the ring Keiichi gave her as a gift without any knowledge of where it came from.]]
* ReplacementGoldfish and TheOtherDarrin: [[spoiler:To Belldandy. When Belldandy realizes that clinging to Keiichi would result not only in his death but the destruction of the universe itself, Keiichi's prospective relationship with Izumi as shown by Hild makes Belldandy abandon her relationship with Keiichi (with full assurance that he would be happy even without her).]]
