A key member of Chaldea, who created the various systems they use to summon Servants and watch over history. However, he is revealed to have been the bomber that sabotaged Chaldea, and reveals to have a part in the incineration of Human History.

* BodyHorror: The ashes of his wife and daughter are magically fused to his skin, turning it white. Furthermore, the chains of the Blades of Chaos were seared into his forearms, to the point where long after abandoning them, he still has their marks along his flesh. The novelization also reveals that the chains burned so deeply into his arms, the heat's scorched his bones

* FireWaterJuxtaposition: Kratos' Leviathan axe deals Frost damage and freezes his opponents in contrast to his Blades of Chaos from the old games, which were constantly on fire and burned whoever touched them. He ends up wielding both, and will often need to switch between them depending on what he's facing:

* AdaptationalBadass: Heavily Downplayed. This version of Ritsuka, unlike the game, is fully aware of magecraft and it's society. However, it's made very clear that like canon, beyond her high-Master affinity, she has no talent in magecraft.

* {{Reincarnation}}: Chapter 20 reveals that despite having been killed since Fuyuki, Cursed Arm had managed to get his blood inside Ritsuka with Shayton slowly overtaking her to be reborn in her body. Thankfully, Jeanne Alter forces it to reveal itself and is subsequently killed.

* ClingyMacGuffin: Even being stuck in an alternate universe won't stop the Blades of Chaos from finding Kratos. [[spoiler:It's really Athena goinnoutnofnher way to torment him.]]

* BatmanGrabsAGun:
** Kratos was forced to grab his Blades of Chaos, which he originally planned to never touch again, once Atreus became ill and he had to travel to Helheim, where his Leviathan Axe would be about useless.
** Even being in an alternate universe, the Blades of Chaos follow him, Kratos reasons that no matter how much he hates it, its primordial fire magic is too powerful not to use them for the trials he will face in the singularities.

** Romani, after doing a general medical examination on Kratos, noticed the presence of scars and marks on his arms that were caused by the Blades of Chaos when they were attached to Kratos in the past.
* ClingyMacGuffin:
** It's revealed in the novelization (and mentioned in Ragnarök) that Kratos tried multiple times to be rid of the Blades of Chaos, but they'd always find their way back to him through various contrived situations. One of the strangest offenders of this was when he tried to dump them into the ocean while on a ship, and the sea got so "angry" that it wrecked his vessel and left him ashore with the Blades. Giving up, he decided to just keep them under the floorboards of his house as an eternal, painful reminder.
** Even with Kratos being in an alternate universe, it doesn't stop the Blades of Chaos from finding a way to follow him to where he is. Granted that might just be Athena going out of her way to torment Kratos.

* HearingVoices: It is not clear if he is hallucinating or being haunted by the ghost/spirit of Athena, but he's the one who can see or hear her.
** However, seeing as how Mimir briefly saw her when the Blades of Chaos transported into the Fate Universe, and Lancelot saw her as well when trying to use the Blades himself, Athena may actually be haunting him.

* TheSpartanWay: Subverted; While he tends to be harsh and strict towards Atreus and Mash it's explicitly stated that he didn't give him (and outright refusal to do so too Mash) the exact type of Spartan upbringing that he personally went through. Not because he saw Atreus and Mash as weak, but because he thinks that no child should ever have to go through such an ordeal.

* EvilIsPetty: Even though Kratos is a God, against all the Demon God Pillars, alongside their King, Kratos can't actually beat them. This doesn't stop Lev from trying to get Kratos killed in Orleans as payback for his defeat.

* ArtificialLimbs: Since Jeanne Alter's right arm cannot regenerate, Da Vinci decides to make her a new one.

* WoundThatWillNotHeal: After having her right arm town off, Jeanne Alter at first seemingly can't regenerate it due to the stress and trauma of the situation. Later on, after Orleans, it's revealed that her arm genuinely cannot heal. Da Vinci claiming that due to her circumstances, Jeanne Alter's 'wound' isn't actually a wound, thus it cannot heal.

* Other Me Annoys Me: Odin is very displeased with his GOW counterpart. Considering GOW!Odin was an abusive, manipulative, sociopathic tyrant, it's hard not to see why.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: He's introduced as humble and welcoming to the protagonist at the beginning of the game but as he's revealed to be alive in the Fuyuki singularity when he was claimed to have died during the sabotage explosion.

* EvilAllAlong: Lev is first introduced as Olga's primary supporter and advisor, but the ending of Singularity F reveals that he was genuinely never on Chaldea's side and was on Goetia's.

* KickTheDog: While appearing to be a quite helpful advisor, this guy's true evil is made all too clear not only when it's revealed that he was the one responsible for the sabotage of the Rayshift that necessitated Mash's transformation into a Servant and killed many more people, but ground zero of the bomb was right under Olga Marie's feet.

* AdaptationRelationshipOverhaul: Unlike her Hollow Ataraxia variant, who liked Poseidon, this Medusa doesn't like Poseidon. It's later explained that Medusa actually did like Poseidon once and admitted she did fall for him. But when the chips were down and she was suffering because of Athena, Poseidon wasn't around to help, making her become bitter at him.

* BitchInSheepsClothing: He's introduced as humble and welcoming to the protagonist at the beginning of the game but as he's revealed to be alive in the Fuyuki singularity when he was claimed to have died during the sabotage explosion
* EvilAllAlong: Lev is first introduced as Olga's primary supporter and advisor, but the ending of Singularity F reveals that he was genuinely never on Chaldea's side and was on Goetia's

* TheBusCameBack: After Singularity 1, Ritsuka finally awakens. After Shayton, who had been possessing her is exorcist of course.
* TheChosenOne: It's made very clear by Cu and Odin that as much as a boon Kratos is for Chaldea, only Ritsuka can deal with certain problems that appear in the Seven Singularities and the Lostbelts.

Acting Master of Chaldea.

* TheParanoiac: Not Cu, but the man in his head, Odin. While Cu is willing to let Kratos keep his secrets, like his myth, Odin doesn't and abuses the Servant-Master contract to see into Kratos's memories.

* Family of Choice: While it's unclear if the Pegasus is her actual son or just a gift in the story, Medusa still treats him with care and love.

* KicktheDog: While appearing to be a quite helpful advisor, this guy's true evil is made all too clear not only when it's revealed that he was the one responsible for the sabotage of the Rayshift that necessitated Mash's transformation into a Servant and killed many more people, but ground zero of the bomb was right under Olga Marie's feet.

* [[Main//Druid]]: Thanks to his Class change, Cu is this as a Caster. He vocally complains about it, as he's weaker compared to his Class as Lancer. Though it does have its uses, as being a Druid was essential in stopping Baldur.
