* Bang Shishigami from ''VideoGame/BlazBlue'', a refugee from the Ikaruga federation, is merely a ninja who relies on his [[CharlesAtlasSuperpower hard work and training]] for... throwing kunai and nails to fire-based attacks to a good dose of toughness for a ninja to even [[SuperMode Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan]]. Despite this and being saddled with the designation of 'Official JokeCharacter', he has managed to use his power massively and creatively to hold up on his own, including surviving a catastrophic explosion and living to tell the tale, eluding a {{Troll}} who's, safe to say, overpowered and delights on MindRape. [[spoiler:He actually has the Nox Nyctores Phoenix Rettenjou, but he didn't know how to properly use it, relying solely on his wits.]]
** Not to mention in his greatest SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome so far: in Platinum's Story Mode, he pulls off an ''epic'' BigDamnHeroes moment [[spoiler:against ''Relius Clover'', canonically one of the few people comparable in power to Hazama/Terumi. Bang goes toe-to-toe with him long enough for Hakumen and Valkenhayn to come in and pull their own BigDamnHeroes moment by intimidating the mad scientist into retreating]]. Remember this is from the only normal, completely unaugmented human being in the series.

* To whatever extent of the term "normal," Valentine from ''VideoGame/{{Skullgirls}}'' stands out for being the only fighter so far to not have a Parasite or a Living Weapon (or Egrets in Parasoul's case), and remains one of the deadliest fighters in the Skullgirl universe, eventually defeating Bloody Marie herself at one point.
** While Valentine does not have anything superhuman, it's hinted she was the subject of genetic mutation which at the least gave her a cross-shaped iris. Beowulf however, compared to the cast of superhumans and otherwise empowered, is just an undefeated wrestler. With a ''chair''.

** There's also the [[OriginalGeneration original character]] that comes with ''VideoGame/{{MUGEN}}'' itself, Kung Fu Man. No ki, magic, psionic or technological powers, just [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin a man with some training in Kung Fu]].

* ''Franchise/TombRaider'' has Lara Croft, gaming's quintessential English BadassBookworm ActionGirl. She has over the course of many long years faced dangerous (and often oversized) animals, dinosaurs, Irish ghosts, badly mutated humans, ''[[OneWingedAngel horribly]]'' mutated humans, mummies, evil statues, undead samurai warriors and ''outright gods'' with nothing but [[GunsAkimbo a pair of pistols]] and [[BoobsOfSteel a big rack]] (and in [[VideoGame/TombRaider2013 the 2013 reboot]], not even that much). She has beaten them all.

** Sony Blade is the most prominent example of this among the MainCharacters. While her partner Jax is a cyborg and her ex-husband and daughter Johnny and Cassie are supernaturally empowered same as the Shaolin monks Liu Kang and Kung Lao, Sonya herself merely has a SuperWristGadget that shoots pink energy and pure athleticism (she can also kill people with a ProjectileKiss ''somehow''). Despite this Sonya is still able to beat up superpowered ninjas like Sub-Zero and Scorpion as well as overpower monsters and sorcerers like Quan-Chi with her unehanced strength and skill. Though granted StrongAsTheyNeedToBe PlotArmour does help Sonya out here. In ''[=MKX=]'' and ''[=MK11=]'' Sonya also has a AttackDrone and other robots as part of her gameplay to make up for her lack of superpowers.
** ''X'' introduces the incredibly awesome Erron Black, a wandering mercenary gunslinger born on Earth and somehow ended up in Outworld. True he has some familiarity with magic but he's never shown using it himself, he just uses old-fashioned firearms and other makeshift weapons to defeat sorcerers, demon spawn, and monsters. Hell, when faced with the [[Franchise/{{Alien}} Xenomorph]], what's his intro quote? [[spoiler:"Haven't seen one of your kind in a while."]]
** Franchise/{{Rambo}} in particular stands out among the [[GuestFighter Guest Fighters]] in ''VideoGame/MortalKombat11'' and the series in general. He's a completely ordinary human from an ordinary Earth with no magic of sci-fi elements to speak of. Only [[Film/TexasChainsawMassacre Leatherface]] comes close in how normal and unempowered he is, and a lot of his opening quotes remark on just how ''confused'' he is. This doesn't stop him from kicking the asses of ninjas, cyborgs, [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot ninja cyborgs]], lethal humanoids, magicians, and gods.

** As a whole, virtually ''any'' unit that doesn't use magic, shapeshifting, legendary weapons or any other supernatural powers qualifies. Usually, getting lucky with a physical unit's level ups results in a MookHorrorShow at the hands of a [[CoolSword sword]]/[[BrutishCharacterBrutishWeapon axe]]/[[BladeOnAStick lance]]/[[ArcherArchetype bow]]/[[DeviousDaggers knife]]-wielding badass who knows no fear or mercy.

** Though she never gets to show it off, WordOfGod has it that Taiga Fujimura is as skilled with the sword as [[LightNovel/TheGardenOfSinners Shiki Ryougi]].

* In ''VideoGame/SpaceMarine'', this is 2nd Lieutenant Mira. A normal human, serving in the common army, in contrast with the protagonist, a genetically augmented Space Marine wearing power-armor. She's the leader of an Imperial Guard force, mainly because all of her leaders and commanding officers are dead. All her Commissars, 1st Lieutenants, so on and so on: massacred. And against all odds, she's the one person keeping the army of men on this world besieged by an alien force functioning and fighting. She's running an entire army against waves and waves of Orks ([[spoiler:and later also Chaos forces]]), managing multiple fronts, keeping her men on the line shooting, keeping sentry turret defenses up, making sure air transports are taking things where they need to goddamn go. And the game protagonist, captain Titus of the Ultramarines, has to rely on Mira on multiple occasions to move the plot forward. And in certain sections she's fighting right alongside you in the frail - against the terrifying horrors of the WarHammer 40k universe, not being a damsel in distress or someone to be babied. She's shooting and shouting and being the complete hardass she goddamn righteously is.

* While every person in ''VideoGame/ShadowHearts'' has their own unique skills such as being trained in a specific art or being in possession of a magical camera that reveals enemy's stats, the first ''Shadow Hearts'' game gives Margarete, who is nothing more than a spy armed with a pistol and got a few weapons... even though quite a bit of them are "Given" to her as every time she uses a skill, she presses a button and says "Yeah I can use some help here".

** Played fully straight with the ActionSurvivor cast of ''VideoGame/ResidentEvilOutbreak'' as barring [=RPD=] Officer Kevin and security guard Mark, the rest of the cast consists of: Cindy (a waitress), George (a surgeon), Alyssa (a investigative reporter), Yoko (a university student), Jim (a Railway employee) and David (a plumber). All capable of kicking as much zombie and monster ass as the veteran heroes of the mainline games.

* The Adventurer in the ''VideoGame/BravelyDefault'' series. He has no apparent powers or job class and is always found hanging out in every dungeon in the game. Which means he got there ''before'' your party. Oh, and he is also the resident "Hardest BonusBoss" to boot. [[spoiler:Then Subverted in ''VideoGame/BravelySecond'', where it is revealed that ''she'' is a Celestial and, as such, not normal at all.]]

** In a crazy universe filled with magic users and {{Half Human Hybrid}}s, [[DarkActionGirl Baiken]] is just a badass samurai chick who demonstrates no ability with magic. But between her chain-arm ([[HandicappedBadass to replace the one that was chopped off; she's also down an eye, but that doesn't slow her down one bit]]) and her peerless skill with an ordinary katana, she can hold her own against some incredibly powerful people, and survives every encounter. Hell, in the very first entry on the Playstation she was ''the BonusBoss''.

* The ''Franchise/MortalKombat'' series, with its roster of empowered martial artists and inter-dimensional creatures, introduced Kurtis Stryker in the third installment: a rather unliked cop with some police gadgets in lieu of powers which he used to kick just as much ass as the god of thunder. ''Armageddon'' dug him out of the scrappy heap and had him take a level in badass still without giving him any powers.

* Miles Edgeworth counts, in the ''Franchise/AceAttorney'' protagonist department. VisualNovel/{{Phoenix Wright|AceAttorney}} becomes a LivingLieDetector with the help of his magatama. VisualNovel/{{Apollo Justice|AceAttorney}} has superhuman perception augmented by his bracelet. [[VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneyDualDestinies Athena Cykes]] has enhanced hearing coupled with a device that can read emotions based on voice. Miles Edgeworth has … logic enhanced by his brain.

** As a whole, virtually ''any'' unit that doesn't use magic, shapeshifting, legendary weapons or any other supernatural powers qualifies. Usually, getting lucky with a physical unit's level ups results in a MookHorrorShow at the hands of a [[CoolSword sword]]/axe/[[BladeOnAStick lance]]/[[ArcherArchetype bow]]/[[DeviousDaggers knife]]-wielding badass who knows no fear or mercy.

** And a very unexpected and unusual case appears at the end of ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid4GunsOfThePatriots'' with [[spoiler:Johnny. For most of the game, he seems to be a huge failure of a super soldier enhanced by cybernetic augmentations and with quite a collection of gadgets of his own. However, he admits he successfully chickened out of having the augmentations done, making him about the only normal human in any combat unit anywhere. His performance still is lacking way behind, but the fact that he was able to almost keep up with an [[BadassArmy elite team of super soldiers]] and saved the others single-handedly on several occasions is treated as being damn impressive.]]

* [[WorldOfBadass Practically everyone in]] ''VideoGame/MonsterHunter''. Gigantic monsters who are [[MadeOfIron ridiculously tough]] and possess ElementalPowers, against normal human hunters armed with traps, tools and some ''[[{{BFS}} rea]][[{{BFG}} lly]]'' big weapons. Although, occasionally, you really have to wonder just how "[[CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass normal]]" the hunters are.
** The [[DinosaursAreDragons Tigrex]] and its Subspecies don't have any elemental powers. Despite having wings, the Tigrex doesn't fly when it fights. It doesn't have any digging powers, spitting powers, or anything particularly special at all. The Tigrex is just simply one angry [[OurDragonsAreDifferent wyvern]] with a ''T. rex'' head that has one mighty roar.

** [[VideoGame/UltimateMarvelVsCapcom3 And then]] there's Phoenix. No, not [[ComicBook/XMen that Phoenix]]. The [[NamesTheSame other]] Phoenix. Of the [[Franchise/AceAttorney Wright]] variety. He doesn't have ''any'' training to rival the above; he's just the resident IronButtMonkey of his world who happens to take whatever punishment he's delivered. Not to mention the fact a purely {{Muggle}} lawyer (technically he HAS a power, but it's useless in combat) has [[ThatOneAttack the second strongest attack in the game]], [[LethalJokeCharacter which in itself is a hit-anywhere-on-the-screen almost OneHitKill if performed right]].

*** Kris, the custom avatar of ''[[VideoGame/FireEmblemMysteryOfTheEmblem Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem]]'', is a mere MauveShirt with no special heritage. S/he doesn't even get a personal WeaponOfChoice. Instead, Kris manages to be the most overpowered unit in the game through nothing but sheer hard work and determination.

** As a whole, virtually ''any'' unit that doesn't use magic, shapeshifting, legendary weapons or any other supernatural powers qualifies. Usually, getting lucky with a physical unit's level ups results in a MookHorrorShow at the hands of a [[CoolSword sword]]/[[AnAxeToGrind axe]]/[[BladeOnAStick lance]]/[[ArcherArchetype bow]]/[[DeviousDaggers knife]]-wielding badass who knows no fear or mercy.

*** However, Natural simply means "nothing my species can't normally do" -- if the player character is an alien, those "natural" abilities can go a long way. [[{{Superman}} Like, say, if you're Kryptonian]].

** Before Lady's debut, the ''VideoGame/DevilMayCry2'' had Beryl, a devil hunter who served as the {{Deuteragonist}}. Like Lady, Beryl had no demonic powers and relied on her gun to fight demons. She is also the first female character to participate in the climactic battle against the villain alongside Dante. For comparison, Trish only showed up after Mundus was sufficiently weakened, and Lady shot Arkham after he was crippled.

** The most normal fighter in the series, though, is [[PluckyGirl Bridget]]. She's a transgender girl armed with a KillerYoYo and [[ImprobableWeaponUser a teddy bear that's armed to the teeth]] and has no special powers to speak of, yet holds her own against the rest of the cast of superpowered badasses, and makes friends with a gang of pirates and one of the most powerful Gear in the world by the end. Even Potemkin, who ''literally weighs a ton in muscle'', is impressed by her enough that he offers him a job to help with training his men. This is especially evident in her VideoGame/GuiltyGearStrive perfect arcade run; she takes on and ''beats'' [[spoiler:Ky in his [[SuperMode Dragon Install]] form]].

** The most normal fighter in the series, though, is [[DudeLooksLikeALady Bridget]]. He's a young, effeminate boy armed with a KillerYoYo [[ImprobableWeaponUser that turns into a teddy bear that's armed to the teeth]] with no special powers to speak of, yet holds his own against the rest of the cast of superpowered badasses, and makes friends with a gang of pirates and one of the most powerful Gear in the world by the end. Even Potemkin, who ''literally weighs a ton in muscle'', is impressed by him enough that he offers him a job to help with training his men.
