* Shortly after release, the game's soundtrack fell into hot waters when it was accused of copyright infringement by the CEO of Materia Collective (the record label that owns the right to the ''Undertale'' soundtrack), who subsequently rewrote the company's copyright policies to be far more punitive towards fangames. However, after much outcry, the issue was resolved on January 2nd, and [[https://twitter.com/UndertaleYellow/status/1742226186200064434 a Twitter post]] by the devs heavily implies that Toby Fox himself joined in to sort things out.

This still wasn't enough to prevent the arguments from turning increasingly sour (with one sticking point being that Materia's CEO had sarcastically pledged to donate 10,000 dollars to the UTY team), and following this Toby Fox issued an ''[[https://twitter.com/UndertaleYellow/status/1743683972951839006 official statement]]'', relayed by the UTY team, that while UTY's soundtrack had not previously received explicit permission, Materia's CEO had still behaved unprofessionally about the situation, with a pledge of 20,000 dollars to a charity of their choice and a promise to revamp the guidelines for OST usage.

* On a Genocide run, Starlo refuses to run and hide like Ceroba tried to get him to do. He then convinces Clover to partake in a "dual".

to:

* Throughout a Pacifist or Neutral run, Starlo never really seems to come across as much of a threat. He's goofy, obsessed with Western Culture and keeps setting up weird scenarios in an attempt to appeal Clover to him. However, when things begin to go awry and the Fiesty Four get angry with him, he demonstrates that he's not all talk. He ties Clover up with his lasso and manages to keep Clover under control for a while before Clover breaks free, all while managing to fire off powerful attacks, some very difficult to avoid. The battle is the longest in the game up to that point, and if you don't fight back, it effectively ends in a draw thanks to Ceroba breaking it up. Considering that Clover is controlled by the player, who is powerful enough to get Flowey to back down, it's a very impressive showing from The Almighty Sheriff.
* In the Pacifist route, when Ceroba tries to take Clover's SOUL to revive Kanako, Starlo immediately instructs Martlet to get Clover out of there while he [[HoldTheLine keeps Ceroba at bay]]. He fails due to Ceroba being much too powerful, but the display of guts is commendable.
** Even more so when you remember that Ceroba is not only his childhood friend, but is someone he likes, and stopping her would almost certainly irreparably damage their relationship. Starlo chooses to intervene - without hesitation - to save Clover because it's the right thing to do, no matter the personal cost. That's the definition of a hero.
* On a Genocide run, Starlo refuses to run and hide like Ceroba tried to get him to do. He then convinces Clover to partake in a "dual". He loses, sure, but he shows that when the chips are down, he's a mighty fine sheriff.

* Identically to the original game, Flowey dies in the Genocide run. However, unlike UNDERTALE, he doesn't go down begging for his life; he outright ''taunts'' you and laughs as he's slowly gunned down. It's an absolutely bone-chilling scene, but also does a good job completely erasing any catharsis gained from killing him, especially after he accidentally revealed that he was just using you.

to:

* The game, especially the Neutral Route, makes it perfectly clear why Flowey is so dangerous. Firstly, since Clover doesn't have more determination than him, Flowey has control over the timeline - he can SAVE, LOAD and RESET whenever he wishes. This power over time is so incredibly broken when used correctly, and Flowey has had a lot of practice. Should Clover wait for Toriel to rescue them, he resets immediately. Should Clover try to back out of going to Asgore and stay with Martlet, he swiftly kills her [[InTheBack from behind]], kills Clover and tries to absorb their SOUL, only stopping when he comes to the correct conclusion that Clover (or more accurately, the player) is too determined to be absorbed and the battle will go on forever [[KnowWhenToFoldEm unless he stops and resets]]. And if Clover dies? Flowey [=LOADs=] and has them try again. The only reason Flowey is so dependent on Clover is because he can't get past Asgore by himself, and no matter how much he [=SAVEs=], [=LOADs=] or [=RESETs=], Asgore will always beat him in a fight.
** The Neutral Ending is the perfect showcase of Flowey, both in power and personality. Once Flowey gets ahold of Clover's SOUL, Clover can't do anything except try to survive Flowey's attacks, their only hope being he gives up and [=RESETs=]. Many of Flowey's attacks consist of some form of self-loathing - such as tearing off his own petals or using his own tears as projectiles - or are used to taunt Clover - like using western-themed attacks or bringing back attacks of bosses they killed. Even the section where Clover seems to escape from Flowey is, at best, a moment of reprieve, as it's only a matter of time before Flowey catches them again. The entire sequence is a NightmareFuel-filled horror show that proves that anyone who lacks enough [=Determination=] is nothing more than a toy for the sociopathic former prince.
* Identically to the original game, Flowey dies in the Genocide run. However, unlike UNDERTALE, he doesn't go down begging for his life; he outright ''taunts'' you and laughs as he's slowly gunned down. It's an absolutely bone-chilling scene, but also does a good job completely of erasing any most, if not all of the catharsis gained from killing him, especially after he accidentally revealed that he was just using you.

* The fact that the game exists at all. Many fan games are abandoned after a year, consist of little more than one boss fight, or get stuck in limbo. Undertale Yellow was in production for 7 years, was greenlit by Toby Fox himself, and - despite numerous delays - was successfully made into a lore-accurate, high-quality game, released for free.
