ND Stevenson has changed pronouns and the entry I wrote should reflect that.

* During his fight with Catra in "Destiny, Part 2", Hordak is on the receiving end of attacks that should have stopped him dead in his tracks, such as a punch to the face, having the First Ones' crystal ripped out of his cybernetic exoskeleton, and having part of a building fall on him, but he just ''keeps coming''. The exploding arrow Bow fires at his face only momentarily stuns him. (Provided ND isn't joking about Catra's [[CatsHaveNineLives nine lives]] when she talked about it on Twitter, Hordak actually ''killed her'' during the fight.)

The cleanup thread for that trope rejected her two times.

* Shadow Weaver's HeroicSacrifice in the finale. * The final battle between Micah and Glimmer. This season shows us that Shadow Weaver was ''not'' exaggerating when she talked about how strong Micah's sorcery was, as he manages to overpower every other sorcerer in the series, and eventually even paralyze all the princesses except his own daughter during the final battle by tapping into dark magic as well. And then Glimmer defeats him, ''without'' dark magic.

Glimmer has gone from the sheltered princess insecure because her power was the weakest, to the strongest princess, queen, ''and'' sorcerer in Etheria.

* On a purely meta level, even before the season's release, the DarkReprise of the ThemeSong, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dgubaXHhio sung by none other than Catra's [=VA=]]]. It's extremely epic-sounding, and conveys really well how high the stakes have become for the heroes this time around.

** On a meta level, ND Stevenson noting the way that Shadow Weaver exploits RedemptionEqualsDeath, calling it an act with some level of selfishness to it. After a long time of RedemptionEqualsDeath being a controversial trope, ''She-Ra'' manages to both employ it and subvert it masterfully.

* Keston John had his work cut out for him this season with having to voice Horde Prime, all of Prime's clones, Hordak, ''and'' Wrong!Hordak, giving each of them varying manners of speaking and inflections, and he knocked it out of the park! From Horde Prime's grandiose ColdHam pontificating, to cold fanaticism of the clones, to making that same clone voice sound ''happy and naive'' for Wrong!Hordak, to Hordak's expressions of bewilderment and later triumph, really shows the breadth of his acting capabilities.
* They did not shy away from it they made it clear that Catra and Adora are a lesbian couple. No shoving it down to subtext, no queer baiting, and no BuryYourGays. They got to be a happy couple in a children's cartoon and this is what the entire show was ultimately about a landmark achievement. Their love and relationship is also central to the story, both for their character growth and the plot as a whole, and not just a side note, which is also a huge step forward and something future shows will have to measure up to.
* The show features a wide range of female body types and personalities many of which do fit easily into established stereotypes. For example Scorpia is big, strong and scary looking... and also a complete softy who enjoys wearing elegant dresses and hugging people. None of the characters are treated as 'ugly' or 'unfeminine' showing that there is no 'right' way to be a woman.
* The fandom raised over [=$40k=] dollars to donate to several '''[=#BlackLivesMatter=]''' organizations during a charity livestream organised by ND and their wife, [[Creator/MollyOstertag Molly]].
* The fandom actually got ''[=#SheRaMovie=]'' trending worldwide.
** They then managed to get the phrase ''Movie For She Ra'' trending almost a week later. And managed to get trending week after week since Season 5 dropped.
* Catra and Adora being the '''only''' couple from an animated show to make [[https://ew.com/tv/100-best-tv-romances-of-all-time/ this list]] for the top 100 TV romances of all time.

* On the villainous side, Catra managing to capture Bow, Glimmer, and the Sword of Protection in one fell swoop at the Princess Prom, because Adora was too distracted by her to notice her compatriots doing the actual work. Provided Noelle isn't joking about her [[CatsHaveNineLives nine lives,]] she even spent a resurrection for style alone.

Example was redundant, having been mentioned in greater detail higher on the page.

* Hordak actually demonstrating some PragmaticVillainy (at least at first), admonishing Shadow Weaver to quit wasting time in her quest to retrieve Adora and appointing Catra as the new squad captain on the spot.
