** Then Saitama, having had enough water games for one day, races into the ocean, running on the water, and one ''[[MegatonPunch Serious Punch]]'', VAPORIZES Evil Ocean Water, with the shockwaves PartingTheSea!
* Garou, still injured, is overwhelmed by Sage centipede, only to receive assistance from the most unlikely of sources: Metal Bat! Despite the two having nothing but contempt for each other, they make an incredible team, working in perfect sync to repel the centipede's attacks and hurting it faster than it can heal.
** After realizing that the Sage Centipede has a core similar to Orochi that allows it to regenerate, Garou, having undergone even further growth, blasts through the monster and rips the core out. He then launches it skywards, prompting the Centipede to go after it.
** Having tricked Sage Centipede to extend its entire body, Garou races up its back, leaps onto the core just it catches it, and leaps off, destroying the core. Then, with one godlike karate chop, BISECTS the monster from top to bottom. Garou proves that it is HE, not the Centipede that is divine retribution.

* The New Hero Association Headquarters is an impenetrable fortress, developed by Metal Knight, with state-of-the-art defences, namely security drones that would put Film/Robocop VideoGame/Titanfall to shame. According to the Metal Knight, these robots are capable of outperforming the combined group of A-Class Heroes. Unfortunately, they target the monster pets that Saitama is looking after...
** * Because of his [[DownplayedTrope participation in the defeat of Garou]], Saitama has been promoted to A-Class, at Rank 39. Though it may seem insignificant, he is finally getting recognized as a capable hero. It also means that the above statement is far from accurate. At least until Saitama reaches S-Class.

* Garou obliterating Platinum S, simply by running through him. The result is that the monster is reduced to a trillion atoms, so shiny that they fill the sky.
* It turns out that there [[AlwaysABiggerFish WAS a bigger centipede than Centichoro.]] Orochi's death summons, '''Sage-Centipede''', who is so massive that he has 6666 legs and so long that he can extend all the way into SPACE. And that's not the only nasty surprise;
** After getting incapacitated by Garou, Evil Natural Water is given a power boost by "God", and slips into the ocean, MERGING with it. The result? '''Evil Ocean Water'''. His eyeballs alone are big enough to capsize an aircraft carrier.
* Garou proves to be too much for Sage Centipede, so the latter resorts to using Tareo as a hostage. He and Evil Ocean Water then double team him, the latter blasting him with a water cannon capable of devastating the land around them. Is that awesome? No, they're both [[DirtyCoward dirty cowards]]. What is awesome is Garou taking it like a champ.

* After several chapters of only seeing Neo Heroes fight against the robot army, chapter 147 of the webcomic has the remaining S-Class heroes begin their counterattack with Puri-Puri Prisoner Watchdog Man, Pig God, and even [[RetiredBadass Bang]] fighting against the army and demolishing them with ease with Prisoner especially showcases his strength by actually succeeding in killing a Machine God despite his own injuries. Also while Zombieman ends up captured by the Organization, it's highly implied he let them capture him to get intel. Not to mention the fact that, unlike the Neo Heroes, the Organization actually puts effort into removing the S-Class heroes and other irregularities such as Garou by sending Machine Gods to capture them, which all but states that Neo Heroes is no threat to them.

* The utterly absurd odds that this series had to overcome to get to where it is today. It started out as a poorly-drawn webcomic. Despite the poor art, it got incredibly popular, eventually gaining the attention of Yusuke Murata, the illustrator for ''Manga/Eyeshield21''. Murata offered to redraw ''One Punch Man'' for digital publication by Weekly Young Jump. From there, it continued to grow in popularity, gaining an international release, and finally, the lovingly animated masterpiece that we all know.
* FandomRivalry with ''Franchise/DragonBall'' and ''Franchise/{{Superman}}'' fandoms over who is stronger. These two fandoms are well-known for their stern refusal to accept their respective favorite is not the strongest hero ever; it's the reason why they've been at each other's throats for years. However, they are also pretty dismissive of most characters from other franchises with comparable showings, only really focusing on each other as a rival. The fact that Saitama's been accepted as a serious contender in their UltimateShowdownOfUltimateDestiny speaks volumes about how impressive his exploits have been. ''Especially since Dragon Ball has been around for a few decades and Superman for nearly a CENTURY, giving plenty of time to have legendary exploits, while One Punch Man only appeared a few years ago.''
* The English dub: the fact that Creator/BangZoomEntertainment were able to get Creator/ChristopherSabat and Creator/MikeMcFarland, two voice actors who usually work with Creator/FUNimation, as part of the dub cast (albeit as characters who don't last beyond a single episode).
* Once Season 2 of the anime got announced the tweet from the official One Punch Man twitter got almost 30K retweets and ''One Punch Man'' Season 2 was also trending for an entire day.
* Not only did it air on Toonami, and not only did it constantly get high ratings, but it also managed to get episode promos for each episode after the third episode. The first time a show got this on Toonami since the first runs of ''Anime/SpaceDandy'' and '''Manga/AttackOnTitan'''.
* Someone made a [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuAFt-39vdI video]] of Saitama's fight against the Subterraneans with sound effects from ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure''. Seeing one of Saitama's punches connect accompanied by the shotgun blast of Star Platinum's fists is an amazing experience.
* ''Creator/RoosterTeeth'' would for the Season 8 finale of ''WebAnimation/DeathBattle'', pit Saitama against [[Franchise/{{Popeye}} Popeye The Sailor Man]] which ends with Saitama's defeat, but the biggest factor to it was not Saitama being weaker or slower than Popeye but rather that their respective worlds operated differently (Saitama's world, being not too different from ours despite the super powers and monsters compared to Popeye's which constantly operates on ToonPhysics), to summarise, it took a character from a cartoon that frequently defies the laws of physics to defeat Saitama and during the fight itself [[WorthyOpponent Saitama realised he finally got the serious fight he dreamed of despite it costing him his life]].

--->'''Saitama''': Really, Garou. So you did have an "image of an ideal hero" inside of you. I see now. I now understand what you wanted to do. Even though you said you wanted to be a "monster of absolute evil"... What you really wanted to be was a hero. But you compromised and decided to be a monster. To bring about world peace, you took the easy route, thinking a monster's job was quicker and easier than a hero's. A monster's role is simpler after all, all you had to do was defeat heroes. It's perfect for someone with no confidence like you. BUT YOU CAN NEVER DEFEAT ME. And peace made by ruling the world with fear can't succeed as long as you can't defeat me. So it will never work. It's absolutely impossible for you. Because if it's your compromised monster hobby vs my serious hero hobby, even if that's all I had, I still wouldn't lose! It was a mistake to lower the hurdle right before the goal. A half assed objective just can't succeed. You can't do it with Absolute Evil. But what about "next time"? [[ArmongPiercingQuestion What will you do next?]]

****Garou's MotiveRant:
-->'''Garou''': If you weren't here, I would have become the world's absolute evil. Unbiased terror scattered throughout the world...that can establish real peace. Don't think that all children are waiting for heroes. There are even kids around the world waiting for a great monster to take the stage. Can you save them!? Can you follow the ugly kid being picked on in the park!? I can! I can save the whole world with terror! While humanity is fearing Garou the Monster, everyone's hearts will unite to survive. Is there any peace other than this!? Can you create peace? Can you unbiased save the world with that flimsy cape? Do you have the means to stop the unseen tragedies? You're strong but so what? You may defeat me, but can you handle it?! THE RESPONSIBILITY!!! WELL!? IF YOU'RE GOING TO DEFEAT ME, THEN ANSWER THE QUESTION! WHAT WILL YOU ACCOMPLISH? Why will you kill me now? Do you have a sense of duty like mine? WHY...ARE YOU...A HERO?!\\

* The three way battle between Platinum S, Flashy Flash, and Garou. The three move so insanely fast through the air that they look like an entire night sky filled with stars, each "star" being a moment they clash. To Flash's incredulity, both of his opponents are faster than he is, and overall, turns out Flash is heavily outclassed by the other two. After Flash's defeat, Platinum S and Garou started to fight seriously, going significantly faster than before by creating much denser constellation starts within only 1.3 milliseconds, despite it now being 2 fighters. After exchanging hundreds if not thousands of blows, Garou finally finished off Platinum S with an IronicEcho.

* In the chapter 166 of manga, Blast makes his onscreen fighting debut against Awakened Garou Cosmic Fear Mode, and he shows that he's not the S-Class Rank 1 for nothing (which even Garou acknowledged). He's the only hero (other than Genos due to him being a cyborg) that can resist Garou's cosmic radiation that causes many other heroes around him, including the S-Classes, to collapse and die shortly after. He was able to cause some damage in his Gravity Knuckle attack, and if not for Garou's PowerCopying abilities, to anyone else Blast can end fights very quickly by simply teleporting them into another dimension. Blast is also skilled enough to manipulate his portal creating abilities to hit Garou and then repeatedly bring him close to his range after being sent flying from each hit. Garou later copies his Gravity Knuckle to combine it with his Nuclear Fission for his RapidFireFisticuffs, and Blast was able to engage him in a PummelDuel by generating portals to redirect his punches to a safer area. Above it all, Blast is worried throughout the fight, but it wasn't due to him in losing position, but for the well-being of the planet due to the collateral damage Garou can cause. Which would imply that Blast is ''still'' holding back against Garou to some extent, likely using a force needed to put down Garou without causing much collateral damage himself.

*** In the manga Garou gains a new stage in his Awakened mode, Cosmic Fear Mode, which doesn't even need to lift a finger to finish off the heroes around him (except Blast and cyborgs like Genos), including the S-Classes, as he emits a cosmic radiation strong enough to collapse them and shortly kill them after. His PowerCopying abilities are increased to the point that he can copy non-physical abilities such as Blast's portal generation, or power outputs like Saitama's punches, as seen in how Blast noted that their colliding Serious Punches become Serious Punch ''squared'' as it was evenly matched, and can potentially destroy the planet.
*** After Garou kills Genos, Saitama stops messing around and fights more seriously against him. Such as using his insane speed and the surrounding debris to pull off a Serious Omnidirectional Punch. Even when Garou flees into a portal, Saitama chases him faster than the martial artist can flee.

* Bang shows that he earns his 3rd rank at Hero Association for a good reason in his fight against Fuhrer Ugly and Gums, both of them being cadres at Monster Association. Currently at manga, he [[DynamicEntry kicks a hole through Gums' whole body to save Tanktop Master who is being swallowed inside]], and using Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist ''with his leg'' to repel an oncoming punch from Fuhrer Ugly to his face. Later he boasts about his martial arts power that Fuhrer Ugly can't do anything against him, which is proven true as he nonchalantly repels another Fuhrer Ugly punch, sending the punch to Gums, saving Genos (whose arm is being bitten by Gums) in the process. He beats up Fuhrer Ugly to get him out of his way of checking out the injured heroes, hurting him with his bare hands, and him redirecting Fuhrer Ugly's punch at Gums enrages Gums to swallow Fuhrer Ugly before Fuhrer Ugly tears Gums in two from the inside out. And at webcomic later, he [[LetsGetDangerous undergoes Abandonment]], a breathing technique that removes all his subconscious restrictions as well as forcibly ignore his survival instincts, and by that he '''[[OneHitKill one-shots]]''' both monsters!

* Fubuki eventually challenges Psykos to a fight. Her opponent has stronger psychic powers than her and thus expects an easy victory. However, Fubuki has a secret weapon: in her hope of eventually surpassing her sister Tatsumaki, [[WeakButSkilled she developed a circular psychic defensive technique against regular direct psychic attacks]]. Despite the power difference, Psykos isn't able to brute force her way to victory. The end result is that Fubuki ''wins.''
* Saitama vs Garou. The Hero Hunter truly lives up to his name when he undergoes a metamorphosis that turns him into a devilish figure, leaving him ''[[OhCrap bald]]'', and takes out the S-Class Heroes with virtually no effort, becoming the closest to approaching the level of might that the protagonist himself has yet. Though Garou is overwhelmed every time they clash, he actually keeps mostly-even pace with Saitama, and even after taking punch after punch, ''doesn't show any damage.'' It's only after he grows so infuriated with Saitama's inability to be surpassed and transforming into a gradually more grotesque monster that he actually ''weakens'', allowing Saitama to defeat him in the usual fashion. Though his villainous status is called into question afterwards, he is the one, the ''only'' antagonist to ''ever'' hold against a Saitama consistently going on the offensive.
** It's not just the action that is great in the battle involving Garou, there is also a second psychological layer going on of Garou trying to break Saitama by [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech telling him how heroes suck]]; meanwhile, Saitama is trying to figure what Garou's deal is and where he comes from.
** Speaking of which, a big factor in how Saitama is not just able to do that but also ends up doing it better than Zombieman is that he is so strong that it allows him to perceive that Garou isn't going all out in the battle, cluing him into the fact that something is off.
* The payoff of that psychological battle? Saitama eventually comes to realize something about Garou, something that his opponent himself didn't. As Saitama shares that realization and asks him what he will do now, Garou's mind is blown and his spirit broken, effectively ending the fight.
* After Garou kills Genos, Saitama completely stops messing around and fights all out against him. Such as using his insane speed and the surrounding debris to pull off a Serious Omnidirectional Punch. Even when Garou flees into a portal, Saitama chases him faster than the martial artist can flee.
* While fighting on one of Jupiter's moons, Saitama ''shatters'' the entire moon with a Serious Table Flip.
** The following chapter, Saitama devastates Jupiter itself with a sneeze, ''while still on the remains of the moon''.
* Awakened Garou proves so incredibly powerful, that he not only forces Saitama to go all out, Saitama actually grows ''stronger'' throughout their fight.
* In chapter 168, Garou gets Saitama to duplicate the power of God without actually accepting God's power, all so he can go back in time and stop Garou from killing Takeo.

* ** Manga:
*** Instead of a ClippedWingAngel, when he got more infuriated with Saitama's inability to be surpassed in the manga, he gets increasingly relentless in his attacks with Saitama, and he managed to escalate the collateral damage he created from destroying several buildings at once with Great Fa Jin, then destroying a whole volcanic mountain, then cause planetary-scale damage with Extreme Fa Jin which passed through Earth's core, moved oceanic plates, made a continent raise up from the other side of the planet, and messing with the magnetic and gravitational fields.
*** Even more, despite the huge collateral damage caused by those attacks, Garou's actions inadvertently saved people, freeing the Hero Association staff members inside an underground shelter who are trapped in the rubble and accidentally saving a city from being covered by the volcano's lava flow.

In chapter 168, Garou gets Saitama to duplicate the power of God without actually accepting God's power, all so he can go back in time and stop Garou from killing Takeo.Tareo. By this, Saitama's abnormally powered punch from Jupiter went back in time and landed on Garou before it was thrown, thus, Saitama ended up defeating Garou with ''zero'' punch this way.

* Chapter 109: King, left alone and wandering the halls while trying to remain incognito, encounters a monster and kills it with a single stare, by himself, in less than a minute. Making it the very first timer he actually killed a ''real'' monster in real life with his own power. Even better, it was completely by ''accident'' with him not even registering what was going on at the time.
