* The Merrick Institute's OriginStory. After years being used as guinea pigs for painful dream experiments by a shadowy government organization, a group of child prodigies actually managed to communicate between themselves using code, overthrow their captors and take over the Institute, gaining their freedom in the process. Not only that, but they actually ended up starting their own conspiracy to fight monsters of their own will so they could protect people.

* The existence of the [[ExtranormalPrison Lansing Facility]] as described in ''Slasher'' can be considered one; VASCU, despite the limited means granted by the government to their agency, managed to build a prison capable of holding superpowered serial killers. Not only that, but amazingly enough, this Facility manages to ''avert'' CardboardPrison, to the point their current concern is that they might need to build a new one due to having too many prisonners. You read that right: not only did VASCU manage to build a prison capable of containing supernatural beings, they actually succeeded at capturing enough of them alive that ''they are running out of cells''.

That's a negative stereotype about Network Zero being idiots. It's not meant to make them look good.

* The Stereotype entry for the Union regarding how they see Network Zero describes how an Union girl, while preparing to fight side-by-side with a Network Zero member, told to come armed.
-->"He came with a baseball bat and a handicam. Nothing else."

* Just managing to ''be'' a hunter in the World of Darkness. In a world where most people blatantly deny the supernatural and paranormal out of fear, or become part and parcel against their will or even willingly. Even if you do have some kind of special ability, you're going up against undead Machiavellians, beast-men, and wizards at the very least. You might have a gun, but you will have a cell. And that cell will stand with you, dammit. Yes, it's dark. Yes, you will die. [[DoNotGoGentle You can still die lighting the darkness]].

Single person experience. Unlike the Funny example, does not work.

* We were in the second part of a story taking place on a possessed university (as of this writing we still aren't 100% sure what it is), dealing with what we came to know as Goo, or Liquid Decay. It does exactly what it sounds like on non-living material, but to living things it's supernatural steroids, with forced roid rage. After discovering that not only did the football team shower in the stuff, and that the coach was behind this, we also ended up breaking into a professor's office finding an Atlantean tome and a German book on Thule (we long mistrusted him, now believe he's a mage). We ended up fighting the coach (he was pretty much a boss monster), hoping to exorcise the spirit from the goo from him (as we've done to others before), only to kill him shortly after my head was bashed against some bleachers and he picked up a goal post to throw at us. Afterwards goo started seeping from the ground covering the university. We then ventured to where we had discovered the source was, only to find a lake of the goo, seeping up to the surface, while each step forward to the goo had it sprout a head till four stood there: Dragon, Lion, Ox, and Eagle. Like the angelic Cherubim, but with a face of Dragon rather than Man. Any closer and it would attack. We then found a way for the goo to recede (reading from the Atlantean mage tome. As that happened I we recalled the previously studied chemical composure of the goo (we studied a sample found early on). It was flammable. Throughout this game one friend had his cross to help exorcism (on christians) and his medical supplies in his bag, and another had his smartphone and cameras, while my only physical possession to help was a zippo lighter. I often joked how useless it was, and how watch it’d be useful under the tunnels. Well shit, if ever there was a Chekov's Gun.
