* GenreSavvy: Gabulae is an odd mix of this, as he's surprisingly savvy outside of combat but tends to focus too closely on his targets and enemies (especially Daba) when he's in a Heavy Metal.

Added DiffLines:

* GratuitousEnglish: The opening theme songs "Time For L-Gaim" by MIQ and "Kaze no No Reply" by Mami Ayukawa. Also the fact that the titular machines are called "Heavy Metals".

* FamilyUnfriendlyViolence: It may be LighterAndSofter than how Anime/AuraBattlerDunbine ended, or even, Anime/SpaceRunawayIdeon, but the first episode has Lilin getting her arm chopped off by Daba's LaserBlade, StarWars style.

Fifteen years later, now grown up and known as Daba Myroad, he lives in planet Koam peacefully. During a trip through the desert, he and his friend Kyou meets a girl named Amu and run into the Lilin's scavenger gang. After a brief scuffle, one of the defeated thugs hands over a cash card to Daiba before dying and requests him delivering it to a man named Amandara Kamandara (a weapon dealer who sends weapons to both the Imperial army and the rebels). Daba sets to do so, not knowing that that action would lead to him leading a rebellion to free the planets of Pentagona from Posaydal's grasp.

* SpellMyNameWithAnS: Some fans like to romanize the BigBad's name as Possoidal (or, less frequently, Pposoidal) because his counterpart from the official English version of TheFiveStarStories uses the name Ladios Sopp. (This is despite the fact that it's clearly spelled 'Posaydal' at the end of eps. 13.)
