* {{Bowdlerize}}: In the ''Fusion'' dub, Lilithmon's cleavage has been covered up, and her and Baalmon's names have been changed to "Laylamon" and "Reapmon" respectively to avoid religious references (though the name "Beelzemon" gets to stay the same). Several shots of the Bagra Army grunts are also cut or altered; likely due to the fact they carry rifles - oddly, the opening of the premiere had the rifles ''glow''; the idea might have been to make them energy weapons but it also makes them ''much more visible''.

* {{Bowdlerize}}: In the ''Fusion'' dub, dub: ** Both Lilithmon's and Mervamon's cleavage has been covered up, up. Taken to an extreme with Lilithmon's combat fusion form late in the series, as it had Evilmons from silly talking breast armor for her; the English dub completely excludes them from the fusion, cutting the most blatant shots and her photoshopping them away in the rest. ** Both Lilithmon and Baalmon's names have been changed to "Laylamon" and "Reapmon" respectively to avoid religious references (though the name "Beelzemon" gets to stay the same). same). ** Several shots of the Bagra Army grunts are also more explicit violence were cut or altered; likely due to such as characters getting cut or impaled or some of the fact they carry rifles - oddly, the opening of humans physically punching one another. One odd edit in the premiere had involved Bagra army grunts carrying rifles, as the editors made the rifles ''glow''; the idea might have been to make them energy weapons but it also makes them ''much more visible''.

* ArtEvolution: A lot of work has been put into the shading of the characters - far more than in previous series, making the characters look flat in comparison. In fact, though the characters have been drawn a lot like ''Adventure'' and ''Frontier'' characters, the animation style, coloring and shading looks more like TheMelancholyOfHaruhiSuzumiya with bits of TengenToppaGurrenLagann thrown in - just look at the [[spoiler: Digivolution, Double Xros and Great Xros]] sequences. Heck, any of the digimon in the Generals' armies display this perfectly.

Moving from YMMV.
Added DiffLines:
* ContinuityPorn: Oh boy. Where to start? ** In the manga, anyway. ** With the end of said manga, we now have know how ''ALL'' digimon continuities are tied together. Making the finale of the second season of the anime (and presence of many characters in it) much less absurd.

Hot Time in Dragonland!" for example), and more at least use an exclamation mark. The Japanese version naturally has this for every episode.

* MerchandiseDriven: While every season of Digimon has had toys, Xros Wars is notably more toyetic than its predecessors. The main DigiXroses are more like CombiningMecha than DNA Digivolution from DigimonAdventure02, and the toys are much more accurate because of that. Additionally, [=DigiMemories=] and Code Crowns were fully integrated into the toy line, and a [=DigiMelody=] to use with the Xros Loader toy would play at the end of the first arc episodes. Ironically, due to poor ratings, the toys for the second arc and subsequently Young Hunters were cancelled.

''Digimon Xros Wars'' (pronounced "Cross Wars") is the sixth anime series in the ''Franchise/{{Digimon}}'' franchise, coming three years after the end of ''Anime/DigimonSavers''. In many respects, it seems to be a throwback to its predecessors - the animation is reminiscent of the ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'' style, ChikaSakamoto returns to voice lead partner Shoutmon, a Greymon plays a significant role '''again''', and [[IconicOutfit the goggles]] are back - and yet in so many ways the series is significantly set apart from earlier ''Digimon'' iterations in concept.

* OriginalFlavor: The art style is at least more faithful to ''Anime/DigimonAdventure'' and ''Anime/DigimonAdventure02'' than ''Anime/DigimonTamers'', ''Anime/DigimonFrontier'', and certainly ''Anime/DigimonSavers''. Additionally, despite its significantly different premise, it was intended to be generally evocative of ''Adventure'' in numerous aspects, most notably Agumon's seiyu ChikaSakamoto returning to voice Shoutmon, the new lead Digimon. And that's to say nothing about how similar Taichi and Taiki are.
