Ununnilium: Just wondering: Who here actually plays it? I just recently got it and have become insta-addicted.

Looney Toons: I run a supergroup, The Legendary, on the Virtue server. A large number of my friends and acquaintances are part of the group as well as a wide variety of spin-off groups on Virtue and other servers (The Infamous, The Little Legendary, The East Coast Legendary...).

HeartBurn Kid: I tend to play on and off on Guardian (I'll usually sign in for a couple of months, have a little fun, then get frustrated I don't have much time to play and get ahead and just cancel my account again. You know, I miss having a ton of free time...).

Andyroid: I used to be into CoH myself; played a Natural Scrapper named Kinryu. I've still got my account, it's just been inactive for months... nearly two years now, in fact. I've thought about picking up City of Villains and getting back into the game...

RedBeardSean: I have several characters on different servers, and with my friends we have a few supergroups: the Sentinels on Guardian, the Legion of Infinity on Pinnacle, the Ms. Alignment on Liberty. Due to our schedules, we rarely do things as a group, though; I tend to solo (which I find better challenge-wise, regardless).

Vulpy: I'm one of those die-hard soloers, but, yeah, I have more than a few characters. I try to add examples from City where it seems fitting around the wiki, too.

dkellis: Another die-hard alt-aholic soloer here. I tend to spend my time something like 20% on Virtue, 15% on Infinity, and 65% on the official forums.

Dalantia: *waves* Virtueite (Virtruvian? Native of Virtue?) here.

Alzharade:Virtuite as well, although I've been cut off for the past two months.Handle here is my handle there.

Wild Knight: Add me to the list of die-hard soloers and Virtuites. Back in the day I was on Victory, but I decided to switch to Virtue for some arbitrary reason when I came back to find the game a lot better than I remembered it. I wonder if that had something to do with the dev team changing...

Gattsuru : Mostly a soloer/small group player on Champion.

Skarmory The PG : Virtue 4 lyfe.

Jack Butler: I'm a member of the Super League of Justice Friends, a small SG on the Freedom server.

Rebochan: I run the Pillars of Virtue, a little RP group on Virtue server.

{{Arilou:}} I play occasionally. La Belle France (DW/WP scrapper) and Fortunate Daughter (Fortunata) on Virtue, mainly.

John Z: I played years ago... Virtue, naturally. Don't know if anyone ever happened to run across a Defender named Ayumu Kasuga, but yeah, that was me. Incidentally, I only made the character to see how long it would be before the devs generic'ed the name (they didn't notice, and as far as I can tell she still hasn't gotten flagged).

  • Arbane: I make Chibi Gurren Lagann (Spines/WP Scrapper) over a year ago—haven't been flagged yet. Also, I have alts all over the servers, and play with some fine people from Rpg.net, mostly on Virtue, Freedom, and Triumph.

Ununnilium: Note that not all Natural heroes are Badass Normals. For example, Superman would be Natural-origin, because he gets his powers from being a regular Kryptonian.

dkellis: And then there's the Kheldian Peacebringers, who are Natural(ly aliens).

Ununnilium:

  • Moral Dissonance (Using intense, weaponized radiation to bust street gangs in a highly-populated area. Yessss, this is a goood idea...)

That's not what Moral Dissonance is. >>

  • One occurrence of the phrase in the entire wiki. I'll grant you, that one is Nemesis.

Exactly! ``

Dalantia: Swapped Warshade and Peacebringer in the description of Heroic Epic A Ts. Warshades gain bonuses that pander to the strengths of the team from having teammates (additional damage from damage A Ts, additional defense from defensive A Ts), Peacebringers balance out the team's weaknesses (additional damage from defensive A Ts, additional defense from offensive A Ts).

Also considering adding Broken Base and Internet Backdraft to the tropes on this page. Opinions?

Ununnilium: Ah, thanks.

No more so than any other MMO, IMHO.

Griffinmills: IMO, it is one of the more broken bases out there. Maybe not as bad as SWG, for example, but the sheer amount of pandering and lies...err..different-points-of-view from the development team around the time of City of Villain's launch was staggering. Not to mention the sheer love and admiration that the team had before destroying it. "Dev love" pre-"GDN" and pre-"ED" was amazingly high. Now? Not so much. Not to mention the more recent kicker of the lead devs splitting off from those maintaining the game to make Champions Online straining and splitting loyalties further.

Wild Knight: Random question, I don't know if it actually belongs here, but...the Determinator bullet point makes a reference to "the big three." What are the big three, out of morbid curiosity?

Gattsuru: I assume it's a reference to Invulnerability, Ice Armor, and Stone Armor's tanker versions. They're the three powersets best built for surviving damage. Maybe Unstoppable/Granite Armor/Instant Healing; those are better examples of the determinator mindset than Ice's Made of Air.

Dalantia: Regen, Stone Armor, and Dark Armor - the sets generally regarded as the "best" defensive sets. Was what I meant when I wrote it, at least.

  • Err, that makes very little sense. The sets are not actually available to a single class for one. You would need to spread out amongst at least the Brute and Scrapper A Ts to cover those three. The armors are also available in different (sometimes wildly so) flavors to Tankers and Stalkers for another. Thirdly, Stone is head and shoulders above the other two listed in sheer survivability... eh whatever.

Skarmory The PG: I've removed the bullet for Sprint Meter. Let me quote from just there:
  • "The defining characteristic of the Sprint Meter is that it refills automatically over time when it's not in use."
  • Although it could be argued that the Sprint ability consumes Endurance, which comes back naturally, that's more like consuming [[Mana]] (at a faster rate) to move faster. It also lacks the fundamental dea of a Sprint Meter - just running around won't force you to pause occasionnaly, it just makes you fight worse.

Dalantia: Yeah, I wasn't looking at it too hard when I instinctively moved it to make alphabetism. >_>

  • Benjamin Frankil Was An Alien Spy IT turns out the entire Book of Revelation was about The second Rikti Invasion. Go figure.

Skarmory The PG: I didn't add it, but I can explain it. The Devs patterned the Second Rikti Invasion after the Book of Revelation. There's the Four Horsemen (Horseman: Death and co.), the Dragon (Dra'Gon), the Beast and the Sea (Hamidon)...

Danel: Would a Fanfic Recs page be the best place to recommend some of the fantastic new Architect Entertainment arcs I've seen, like those by Twoflower?

Wild Knight: Ooh, I kinda like that idea. I mean, in a weird way, the Mission Architect arcs are fanfics, except written with "dev tools" instead of Microsoft Word. Although I'm not too familiar with Fanfic Recs guidelines, so don't consider me an expert on the subject...There would be rules against self-pimping your own arcs, right?

Skarmory The PG: This is getting messy. I'm considering splitting off a section (not subpage, just sections) for tropes related to powers and powersets only - Meteor Strike, Vacuum Hurricane Kick, Make Me Wanna Shout etc. Thoughts?

dkellis: Sounds good to me.

Skarmory The PG: [Mask of Vititation]: 15s recharge, 1.20 accuracy, -33 end, 30s of -100% regen, -100% recov, -50% def. How is that exaggeration?

Ciel: This trouper would like to propose the addition of the Breast Plate to the listed troupes in the article, I mean, I think the Night Widow armor counts, also there's the Cimeroran (Grecian style, even if you get it and see in a part of Rome) breastplate that's supposed by molded to the physique underneath. It show also be noted, on P Cs the troupe applies to both male and female models.
Wild Knight: Okay, so we have Martial Arts Do Not Work That Way for implausible martial arts animations and Flynning for implausible sword technique (which does not apply to this game, actually)...Do we have a similar trope for guns? Because after playing with Dual Pistols for a bit and watching the animations the devs have cooked up (Dual Wield has you twirling around to get down on bended knee to fire both guns, Bullet Rain arcs the bullets in midair, and Hail of Bullets can be best described as a ballet dance with firearms), there's no way they are anything but the gun-equivalent of those implausible-technique-Rule of Cool tropes. Wild Knight: That's it! Thanks!
Sir Frederick: Re- Brain in a Jar. I quote from Marshall Brass: "If that were to happen, they'd have my head. Literally. What do you think controls the drones?"
