Pteryx: I have my doubts that the bit about Final Fantasy XI Summoners quite belongs here. (It kind of kills the joke in the "any MMO" comment, besides.)

Nifboy: Removed from the World Of Warcraft entry: "Paladins are particularly suited for this, what with wearing plate armor and being able to cast powerful shields to become invincible to pretty much anything for short periods of time." Paladins aren't really suited for the task (or this trope), because between a paladin and a priest, the priest will always be the primary target first.
Miroku: I beg to differ on the whole 'shooting medics/having medics shoot are war crimes' issue. My father served in the Vietnam Conflict as a Hospital Corpsman, and has seen his share of action there in the field. I'm reasonably sure that other people in conflicts around the world have had to defend themselves more recently.
