From YKTTW

Jisu: Mew Mint, Aizawa Minto. Mew Mint, Aizawa Minto. Mew Mint, Aizawa Minto.

Seth: I'm going to cut away all of the references to the Running Gag in the YGO abridged. Seto used the trope in the actual series - true. The name comes from the abridged series - worth mentioning. Mentioning how many times they beat that dead horse isn't necessary - Fan Vids while worth a mention shouldn't take up that much of the page.

moved here for reference

  • Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! The trope name comes from a line in the first episode of the Gag Dub Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series.
    • This line is parodied in episode 11: "Screw the rules! I have green hair!"
    • ...and again in episode 14, with Yami Yugi taunting Kaiba after beating him in a duel: "Screw the rules! I'm in love with Nurse Joy!" (Kaiba and Brock from Pokemon share the same English voice actor)
    • ...and again in the obligatory Christmas Episode, A Yu-Gi-Oh Christmas Carol: "Screw the Yules, I have money!"
    • ...and yet again in Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Movie: "Screw the money! I have rules! ...wait, let me try that again."
    • Joey Wheeler even gets his turn after collecting the Duelist Kingdom prize money in Episode 19 (meant to pay for his sister's eye operation), "Screw my sister! I have money!"
If nothing else, aside from the first episode none of those actually demonstrate this trope. They just form a running gag. --- Actually, it's been pretty well demonstrated the Kunos aren't rich. Refer the yacht is a rowboat. It's just a case of they're crazy.

Adam850: I don't think so. Big Fancy House, building dojos or ice rinks at the drop of a hat, and the yacht in the movie was pretty big.

BT The P: Felt the bit on the Rourke clan in Sin City was in need of expansion, as Daddy isn't just a senator, he's essentially Joe Kennedy crossed with Al Capone.
HeartBurn Kid: What happened to the quote I put on the page?

"I prey on the innocent. It's how I made my fortune, and, quite frankly, it's fun."

-- John Bradshaw Layfield, WWE Monday Night Raw

//Later: OK, since there's no discussion on it, it's going back up.

Lale: I didn't read this before taking that down just now, but my reason is the trope refers to being allowed to break the rules because you have money, not getting your money via breaking the rules (or "preying on the innocent"). The cause and effect in the quote are flipped. And I got the impression from "TV Tropes"? More like "TV Quotes"! that we need to cut back on the quote overdosing.

HeartBurn Kid: Ah, when you say it like that, it makes sense. I'll take it to the Quote Bin.

  • Montana Max from Tiny Toon Adventures. He uses his vast wealth to push the other characters around, and owns heavily polluting industries that make inane things like ice cream spoons and portable holes.
At the risk of missing the point, how are portable holes inane? If used right, they could probably be the *cure* for pollution. --Document N
