Adam850: I suggest using a different name for Alex, as that name can be female or male.

Solandra: (after the change) What, afraid of the implications? =P I could have named them Alex and Bailey to better fit the first example, y'know...

Lale: I would have called it "Pair The Paolos," but apparently it went for Sublime Rhyme instead of Added Alliterative Appeal.

Adam850: Actually, it's less confusing with Aaron now. While Girls' Love is a viable part of this trope, it's easier for me to think of the relationships as they happen most of the time.

Kilyle: Just read an article on part of an interview with J. K. Rowling. Said that although she left open the possibility of a relationship between Neville and Luna, she didn't explicitly state one in the wrap-up because it "felt too neat". Does this count, and can it be put in now or eventually?

Etrangere: she didn't actually paired them off in the text. I'd say no.

Ununnilium: I'd say yes, as a prominent exception.

Rann: Removed the bit about Ryoga and Ukyo being the "sane" suitors and everyone else being "Ax Crazy", since they're no more or less sane than anyone else in that series. (Check the Draco in Leather Pants page for the usual example of Ukyo's Fanon Retcon.)

Philadelphia Story is a bad example- the photographer and the journalist are an established couple before he falls for Hepburn. She states that a romantic like him is bound to fall in love now and then. When asked what she'd do if he were to marry someone else, she notes she's scratch that girl's eyes out, regardless of how important or well off she is. -janeric
