Working Title: Faux To Guide: From YKTTW
- This troper doesn't think the Zombie Survival Guide belongs here. The premise of the trope is a guide whose instructions are actively against the guide's supposed purpose. While the Zombie Survival Guide is certainly a work of satire and humor, if you were to accept the basic premise of zombie's existence (and need for decapitation) then the guide would actually be helpful, not harmful. To put it simply, the guide isn't so much a fake how-to guide, as a how-to guide about a fake situation.
Haven: Took out this one, because it's not an example of this trope. If it were a guide that provided fake instructions, that would be it; instead, the joke is something else. I'll leave that to you though.
- In Discworld, the in-universe book How To Kille Insects. The actual content of the book is irrelevant - what matters is that it's two thousand pages thick and very heavy.
