Meocross: a Broken SHIP has nothing do to with the trope?!? kind of hard to find a picture that says "heck no im abandoning this pit"

...too big (and nothing to do with the trope).

- In a subversion, despite Word of God declaring that Harry/Ginny is the series canon, quite a few fans still ship Harry/Hermione, with reports of some fans threatening to sue JK Rowling for not making it canon and a slew of Hate Fic directed at Ginny.
- Additionally, one fan apparently wrote JK Rowling an irate letter demanding why Draco/Hermione didn't become canon due to the supposed slew of Subtext between them.
The first one is Not A Subversion (and can't see any reason why exceptions/aversions should be listed), and the second is not this trope.

- We can't forget the wank that followed Athrun and Cagalli's break-up in Gundam SEED Destiny, which soon turned into massive Die for Our Ship with Meyrin Hawke and Meer Campbell as the main victims.
Because it's already on Die for Our Ship, and it has nothing to do with this trope. Added some more about Kira/Cagalli, the pairing that is relevant here, instead.
Chuckg: Can this troper nominate his abandoning the Tim/Steph 'ship in Robin due to Tim's having repeatedly been a Jerkass to her just one time too many to spin away?
