Working Title: Alice Attack: From YKTTW

Jisu: Again, removed the original Alice In Wonderland and adaptations.

Fanra: Why? The trope description does not say they are not included. And since the actual name of this trope is from an "adaptation"...

Jisu: It's not an adaptation, it's an allusion. *reminded of the person who kept saying Sailor Nothing was a fanfic or a ripoff...*

Fanra: Ok. Thank you for pointing out the difference. I will thus put into the description of this trope that adaptations of Alice In Wonderland are not part of this trope but allusions are. Please correct it if I have it wrong. Thank you.

Cliché: What is the point of this trope? If we have one for the name Alice, why not for every other name in existence? Maybe I just get this impression because the page seems to have decayed into "putting everyone that could have been named Alice" on here. I just need clarification on this page's purpose.

triassicranger: Because "Alice" has some sort of weird ring to it. That's why the trope was coined in the first place.

Cliché: I see. Well, I removed the most egregious example of Square Peg Round Trope. There's also the Alice Cooper example which needs to be revamped due to it being too much Gushing About Shows You Like.

  • Then there's that undead rumour that Aerith of Final Fantasy VII is actually "Alice"...
    • It's a justified rumor, since her name is spelled "E-A-Ri-Su" in japanese. You can spell Alice in two different ways in Japanese: either "A-Ri-Su" or "E-A-Ri-Su", just like Aerith.
    • This troper isn't from Japan, but he is familiar with Japanese phonetics, and can't see how on earth that extra "E" would be inserted in a katakana version of "Alice".
      • triassicranger: There was this one time I saw a cartoon where these characters in an anime get sucked into an Alice In Wonderland book (where have I heard that plot before?). The book featured the name "Elice" on the front.
