Happy Corner: I removed the Hive Mind reference. The aliens are obviously telepathic, but that is NOT automatically the same as having a hive mind, and there's nothing in this movie to suggest otherwise.

Chuckg: Actually, there is. With the exception of one timing broadcast signal and some networking together of their automated equipment, the aliens manage to conduct carrier fleet operations across an entire world without ever once using the radio. They don't even build or deploy their own communication satellites, they have to piggyback on Earth's satellite network when they have a temporary need for one. What kind of species doesn't need radio? Just being normally telepathic wouldn't do it... while that would handle individual person-to-person communications just fine, it wouldn't allow for switching centers, dispatchers, and other large-scale hierarchical communication needs.

Anon: Is it me, or is the opening passage of this article a little too opinionated? I really think the opinions of the editor who declared this movie "So Bad It's Good" etc. should be removed; it's a little too subjective and argumentative. I'm just saying, mileage may vary and all that...

Caswin: Agreed. This movie has plenty of genuine fans, and I think I might be one of them.

Ecliptor Calrissian: Since "ID 4" turns into a Wiki Word, may as well make it a redirect to this page? I sorta don't know how to do that.

Skip: I don't care for the note on Crowning Moment of Awesome about how British people think this is cheesy. The title of the movie alone is enough evidence as to why they wouldn't fully appreciate it. Besides, how is "we should forget about nationality and work together as humans" a jingoistic message?
