Jakeem Thunder is ''not an example'', though it could be argued that his name, the shirt he wears when operating as a hero and the fact that he summons thunderbolt themed genie are a nod to this trope, he's a better fit under AffirmativeActionLegacy.

If Storm is decided to fit as an example several of her children fit as well including Becka Munroe/Tempest and Kendall Logan/Torrent.

* In DC Comics' mid-1980s revamp Jonni Thunder, aka Thunderbolt Jonni, is a black woman who comes into possession of a statue which gives her the power to become human lightning. In ''ComicBook/KingdomCome'' she and ComicBook/BlackLightning have a daughter who has both of their powers, named Lightning. 
* Marsha Bradley from Creator/ImageComics's ''ComicBook/SavageDragon'' is an African American woman with electricity based powers who goes by the alias Lightning Lady.
* Azari T’challa is the son of ComicBook/{{Storm}} and ComicBook/BlackPanther who has the power to channel and shape electricity.

* Aqualad in ''WesternAnimation/YoungJustice'' has hydrokinesis as his primary power, but also has the ability to release an electrical charge throughout his body which he often uses to electrify said water attacks. The same show also featured ComicBook/{{Static}} and ComicBook/BlackLightning meaning half the powered male black cast fit this trope.
