** [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E8TheMysteriousMareDoWell The Mysterious Mare Do Well]], where Rainbow Dash, discovering that everyone cheers her whenever she performs heroic actions, soon allows her ego get the best of her and she becomes very presumptuous, resulting in her friends having to remind her that a true hero doesn't brag. They do this by taking turns in pretending to be the titular Mare Do Well and performing heroic actions themselves. Most of the complaints revolve around the BrokenAesop and the aforementioned friends bragging about their own deeds themselves, and Rainbow Dash becoming the ButtMonkey of the episode and having an unbearable characterization.
** [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS2E21DragonQuest Dragon Quest]], mostly for promising us with a great idea of delving into Spike's origins (he's a dragon that hatched from his egg during Twilight Sparkle's initiation test for the magic school, and he lived with her ever since), but ended up being a wasted opportunity and revolving mostly around Spike dealing with a bunch of cliche, unlikeable teenage dragons.
** [[MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS3E10SpikeAtYourService Spike At Your Service]]. In short, Applejack saves Spike's life from a bunch of timberwolves, and he vows to serve her for the rest of her life because of his Dragon Code. Now, ''where do we even begin?'' ConspicuousCGI Timberwolves (with the show never using CGI before), Spike's unbearable characterization and suddenly being turned from a likeable, intelligent, sometimes snarky guy into an [[TheKlutz absentminded klutz]], AssPull in the form of his Dragon Code that was never brought up before, characters acting out of character in general, very cliche premise, and to top it all off, this episode was originally meant to be actually about Spike serving Rarity - for whom he had a crush from the beginning of the show and it would actually justify ''a lot'' of the stuff happening in this episode - but it was scrapped and Rarity was replaced with Applejack ''because the main writer couldn't write her in a way that wasn't turning her into a giant bitch.''
** It says ''a lot'' that all of the above episodes were written ''by the same writer''.
