I think the OP's fine as it is, although there are a few malapropisms so it could do with a rewording;

Robots are curious beings. They may vary in [[MechanicalLifeform physiology]], [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots behavior]], [[TinCanRobot design]], [[SlidingScaleOfRobotIntelligence intelligence]]... even [[{{Fembot}} gender]]. Indeed, [[OurRobotsAreNonStandard they come in many forms]]. But a particularly curious thing about them, humanoid ones in particular, is that no matter where they come from and no matter how they appear they may have a particular trait you would expect in organic lifeforms (who have issues with homeostasis and such weaknesses), more specifically mammals. By which we mean; hair.

RobotHair can fall into two categories:

* "Synthetic" Hair -- This is basically robots with human-like hair (but don't be surprised if it [[AnimeHair doesn't follow the same "rules"]]). This is usually found in robots that are supposed to resemble humans.
* "Mechanical Facsimile" Hair -- This is where robots have something that fills the same sort of visual niche as hair (i.e. serving as some sort of pattern at the top of their head). It could be pipes, wires and cables, or part of the head's shape.

A common feature of any {{Fembot}} or RobotGirl, although masculine robots are not exempt. A RobotMe is practically guaranteed to replicate an iconic hairstyle. Sister trope to TertiarySexualCharacteristics. Compare AlienHair and NonMammalianHair.
