^ I once made that argument; however, upon further reflection, I abnegate that position.  Experiment 626 was created in Jumba's lab, and later seized as an exhibit in Jumba's trial.  Technically, it was Captain Gantu's prison transport from which 626 escaped.  Nevertheless, whether Gantu succeeded in marooning 626 on an asteroid, or 626 was left behind in Jumba's lab would entail the same fate: death by neglect.  Stitch's only hope of surviving is an escape somewhere along the line.  So, lab creation, doomed, escapes to stay alive = this trope.

* Corey Messer's ''WebComic/PlushAndBlood'' has the two protagonists discover a marked crate on page 34, and open it to reveal a CatGirl, Katt.  Katt's flashbacks reveal that she is a cybernetic reconstruct, but too volatile to serve President Brown properly.  Thus, Katt was sedated, then stuffed in a storage crate until management decided what more to do with her.  Freed, Katt joins Fox and Grey in undermining Brown's Nazilike Utopia.
