@/TheHandle [[ProperNounAvoidance Proper Noun Avoidance]] probably isn't the best term since, as you'll see in the revised post, avoidance isn't always the motivation.

@/DunDun Names as clinical-sounding as [[TitleDescriptor Title Descriptor]] are probably best to avoid, because they're non-intuitive and difficult to remember.

I have edited the original post to include a better description, and to only include examples which cite a specific work (i.e. have removed all "this fandom tends to" examples).

This trope's name is still largely up in the air. I agree that "syndrome" gives it an unwarranted negativity, but [[LavenderUnicornSyndrome Lavender Unicorn Syndrome]] is already [[http://eznwords.tumblr.com/post/21010451863/ellyewess in use]], so we might consider importing it as [[TheLavenderUnicorn The Lavender Unicorn]]. Since this is a type of [[PurpleProse Purple Prose]], it makes sense to have "lavender" in the name, and it's a lot easier to remember than any of the literature-class names, including those that I originally suggested :)
