The main writer, Nigel Kitching originally planned to write Amy as a goofy playful persuer of Sonic, with [[TookALevelInBadass her growth into a competent heroine]] more subtle and gradual ([[HilariousInHindsight which is ironically uncanny to how her games' persona turned out]]). However ExecutiveMeddling disliked the characterization and opted to make Amy [[PositiveDiscrimination the most mature and intelligent of the Freedom Fighters for a strong female character]]. Kitching mentioned in interviews his difficulty writing Amy due to her lack of flaws or quirks making her inflexible and boring as a character.
* BugsBunny initially started as an abrasive trickster, with a noticably more surly and egotistical edge. As ChuckJones reinnovated the cast, he diluted Bugs to mostly [[TheAce his positive traits]], and by later portrayals he often acts as little more than a HeroAntagonist or [[AlwaysSomeoneBetter a contrasting foil]] for DaffyDuck or other {{Loser Protagonist}}s.
