^ What is there so difficult to understand with this one? This trope is about a lot of named characters dying. They can be main characters, when it would also be a case of AnyoneCanDie. Then again the main characters might have a PlotArmor thick enough to block out the sun but it would still be a case of this trope, ''if there was a lot of named characters dying''. That's why series like ''Series/MidsomerMurders'' qualify for this, since characters killed in DetectiveFiction are pretty much ''always'' named.
