** In ''Film/SpiderMan1'', the spider is stated to be a genetically modified creature made by splicing DNA from multiple spider species.  Its bite to Peter Parker introduces spider DNA into his genome.
** In ''Film/{{Hulk}}'', Bruce Banner is part of a team experimenting with medical {{nanomachines}} that are activated by exposure to gamma radiation.  When Bruce is exposed to both in a laboratory accident, they interact with genetic mutations he inherited from his father, who was conducting genetic experiments on himself during the Cold War.
