Yes, some of the examples added do not have a proper markup. You have to copy them as they are and write the asterisks for bullets and wiki-word and namespace the works' names yourself.

All the info on writing, editing and formatting is in the Administrivia section. If you want the links or specific help, you can PM me (or somebody else) or write another post here. Also moderators are always most helpful.

I don't know why you say that the markup doesn't work. It works just fine and the formatting is ok, only the examples are added kind of messily (for instance, the Simpsons do not have sub-bullets but examples are listed separately).

Troper m8e was kind to move the examples with "*", but not those without it as he probably did not have time. And according to the tab, you were not the last one who tried to edit the draft. That would be me, if I see correctly, and that was a long, long time ago.
 
New tropes do not go to Trope Repair shop. That is not a place where you get help with editing and formatting. It's for misused tropes or TropeDecay.
