I have to re-emphasize, a rap battle is ''completely unrelated'' to a rap feud, besides the fact that they're part of the culture. Lumping them together is like lumping HeavyMetalUmlaut and BritishRockStar because they both involve loud music.

A rap battle is a specific ''event or piece of music'' where two rappers compete at freestyling. It is a contest of skills and the "combatants" need not be enemies - in fact, the entire thing can be completely friendly.

A rap feud ''plays out largely in the various media'' rather than at a specific place and time. More importantly, it is not typically a "friendly" rivalry, as can be the case in a rap battle. The involved parties will likely drop disses in their respective recordings, but you should not expect to hear them on the same song (or even the same label in a lot of cases). While a rap ''battle'' is no more violent than your average concert, rap feuds have been known to explode violently from time to time.

If you don't want to start a RapBattle YKTTW, then cut it completely from this article and forget about it.
