Recap Practically perfect in every way!
Frankly, I think this episode was perfect. Voice acting was spot-on, Future Twilight's arrival seemed like it ate up some portion of the seaspn's budget, and... yeah. 10/10
Other notes:
- For whatever reason, the amount of abuse Twilight took in "Feeling Pinkie Keen" really pissed me off. As it turns out, characters getting abused with no comeuppance whatsoever (or something - it's rather hard to explain) is a major Pet Peeve Trope of min. For whatever reason, when something similar happened in this episode, I wasn't pissed! Probably had something to do with how amazing the episode was already...
Recap Meh.
Not a bad episode (of course there hasn't been an episode I've actively disliked so far), but, really, as soon as Twilight got the cut on her cheek I knew what was going to happen. The lesson is a fairly minor one and doesn't have too much of an impact on Twilight's character; "not worrying unnecessarily" was covered pretty well back in "Lesson Zero", so no new ground has really been broken there.
One bright spot would be the appearance of Cerberus and a mention of Tartarus, which give us some more tantalizing tidbits of information as to how Equestria's set up, and hint the sacharrine world may be much less so than it appears. Other than that though, it's not very memorable, and for me is largely just filler between "Putting Your Hoof Down" and "Dragon Quest".
