Reviews: The Woman In Black
Well, at least they tried
Long story short, it's like they had a brilliant artist come in and apply some Nothing Is Scarier in tandem with an already creepy, creaky old house, creating a brilliant atmosphere with a genuinly creepy feel. Then they had the same eight-year old that wrote the plot go through with a stamp marked "Jump Scare" and stamp away until that atmosphere was ruined. And why didn't reuniting the Woman in Black with her son work? Why didn't Kips grab the papers and go? Why is the Woman in Black unleashing her revenge on unlrelated, innocent people? The film seems to be saying "Because fuck you, that's why."
