Disappointment

While the film labels itself a comedy, there is an enormous amount of drama and pointless scenes in the middle. The jokes almost all boil down to "they had sex", "someone swearing" or "you suck, (celebrity of choice)!", with only a few genuinely funny moments in between (Ted's job, his boss in particular). Mid-way through the plot switches fully to drama and cliches, including a fairly pointless car and climbing chase sequence. Pacing was atrociously slow, with several scenes of John and his girlfriend getting along that couldve been removed or condensed to make room for jokes. There are more jokes-per-minute in The Avengers without resorting to Toilet Humor. Why can't it happen here?

This is a Seth Mc Farlane production. Toilet Humor is pretty much the basic premise.

you complain about Toilet Humor yet use Ted's job and his boss as examples?

^This. If what you liked was pretty much the lowest joke of them all, and a combination of 'they had sex', 'someone swearing' and 'You suck' (Although no celebrity), then maybe what you've got here is more a description and less a complaint. I figure the fake drama ending was on the nose though. I think most people must have on some level felt just how tacked on that was.

But that's all fairly standard comedy stuff. It stood out because Ted somehow managed to do something other than the standard for the first half

Well, they did what you said in Ted 2 and...it sucked.

I should probably be doing something else with my life.
