The characterization of America and the other countries were done really nicely and it really shows us what would have happened if Canada never existed. Even the countries that Canada has particularly close affiliation with can't remember, though they sense that something is wrong and keep having these flashbacks of someone. It became a bit of a Tear Jerker in some cases when America breaks down in front of England, wondering why it feels like a part of him has been cut off and Holland preparing thousands of tulips but he can't remember why or for who.
