I tentatively recommend it. It's definitely a rather different and refreshing premise, but the tone of the story is somewhat morbid, snarky and a little desolate. It feels a little hard to believe that things will work out for the best, but, all things considered, beyond the death themes it's not that dark a fic.
It simply feels unpredictable, which can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on what you want to see in a story.
I like it for being different, but it also bothers me how different it is from the stories I usually like.
I say, go read it, but don't expect much cheerfulness going on beyond a little humor here and there. It's not complete and the updates slowed down from their previous pace, but the author is still active.
