Some of the best books I ever read

I recently finished re-reading "The Dark Elf Trilogy" a few weeks ago as of my writing this. It's still one of my favorites. The characters are very well thought-out and make you want to know more about them. The settings are very detailed and sometimes makes you feel like you're there. As the book progresses, it can be hard to put down; it's that good. One of my favorite moments was in "Exile", when Guenhwyvar not only severed one of the Illithid's cords and sent it floating into nothingness, but also came into the real world and tore up the elder brain, releasing its hold on Drizzt and his friends. Plus the battle and resulting chaos that came with it as well was very cool as well. Another good part was when Zaknafein, despite being a zin-carla, chose to sacrifice himself so that Drizzt could escape his family's insidious wrath. An excellently moving and satisfying part, to be sure. I will have to agree that Drizzt did get a little angst-y in "Sojourn"; fortunately, Montolio Debrouchee helped with that. He was one of the best guides I've ever read about in a story. I was very glad to have picked up this book when I did.

Oh yeah, there is one thing I forgot to mention. There was one thing I was glad was not in the stories. I was glad there weren't any scenes of the Drow eating together. I agree that sounds strange, but it's because of what I can remember from Detective Conan (or Case Closed, if you prefer that title). In that show, whenever a rich family would get together for whichever occasion, the gathering would, without exception, turn into World War III. Going along those lines, that's why I'm relieved no such scene took place in "The Dark Elf Trilogy"; there's no need for the Do'Urden family to be even more dysfunctional than it already is. :P

So be sure to pick up "The Dark Elf Trilogy" when you get the chance. I promise you won't be disappointed. :)
