I think 'rushed' is the best word there is for the problems I have with this fic. And that Shinigami could've been better. But it is still an enjoyable read.

I'm torn between seconding and contesting this. Pretty good plot, but it felt rushed, the prose leaves something to be desired, and there were some spelling issues and such — decent first draft. The biggest problem aside from those might be the Shinigami character, who is completely unlike canon Shinigami, and not in a good way. Her relationship with the protagonist should've been developed better, given later events, and overall, she comes across as a mishmash of Ryuk's and Rem's plot points with some male fantasy added.
