The characters are written pretty believably, though their extremes have been toned down and they're written more maturely based on their progression to adulthood. The writer does have a pretty good imagination, but given the Soul Eater world is fanciful to begin with, nothing feels too out of place. Blaire, Angela, and Mifune are played with a bit to try and help tie the three generations together.
