There is no Die For Our Ship here: the resolution the author comes to allows both Suki, Sokka and Toph to all remain in character without any of them being killed or being jerks to each other. Each pairing is handled civilly and intelligently, and the ending is both sweet and touching. Check on its sequel Redemption, as it's also a good continuation of the story. In case you're wondering, it's ultimately Tokka that wins out in the end, but it's believable!
