Except it would need to be handled with some actual self-awareness and tact, and these stories have neither. It wants to bash the people who are actually trying to reach out and help, while fawning all over the stubborn jerks. It\'s a recurring trend in these stories that these characters could vastly improve their own situations with just the tiniest amount of effort or compromise, and then refuse to do it.... only instead of exploring how destructive and unhealthy this mindset is, which could be genuinely compelling, the story actually wants you to agree with them.

Spite, an inability to write, and sheer banality will always produce dumpsterfires. This fic has idiot plots, stale characters, bad pacing, horrible dialogue, and Writer on Board. The plots in this badfic contains complete jerks rejecting any help or compromise to spite others, and are always portrayed in the right. Narration often tells what characters are saying. This fic is a broken record, repeating "Friendship bad" over and over.
