Not for everyone. But worth a look.

I watched the series around four years ago, and whilst I found it entertaining I didn't really enjoy it, and I would have called it a less than average anime. But now, looking back the series had a very nice artistic direction, mildly intriguing themes, and characters you could atleast wonder about. Beetrain is not my favorite studio, but along with Phantom, I think this is a work by them that definitely deserves recognition.

If you're wondering about my negative feelings on the series, they mostly have to do with the fact that it can be seen as a repetitious series of gunfights and that the ending didn't offer a sense of fullfillment to a whole 26 episode series. The series presents itself as a mystery but feels very disjointed by the fact that we only get the plot strung throughout a series of "monster of the week" style assassinations.

The themes of the series switch between discussions on friendship and war. With a predominantly (ie. 90%) female cast, you are left a single-gendered perception on the whole thing, though the series never uses this to create major sexual tension. Rather it simply serves to show that there is infact little difference between men and women.

No matter. It is worth a look if you want an anime to discuss. A work that makes you think is better than one that leaves you with nothing.

From the mention of Beetrain and a predominantly female cast, I believe it's a review of one of their "girls with guns" animes (Noir, Madlax, or El Cazador De La Bruja).
