The concept is really interesting, but I can only describe the writing as bearable. It's not outright bad, and in some places it gets pretty good, but overall it doesn't do the story justice. When conveying emotion the writer likes to just state what the character is feeling, which doesn't really convey emotion well, ironically, and the bridge between dialogue scenes is usually just a few short paragraphs with something like "The next few weeks passed by... meanwhile in the canon plot..."
