Simple, yet very charming

The first thing that did catch my eye of this show was definitely the art style, easy on the eyes and very mellow, and this did set the tone for how I found, at least, the first and, so far, only season of this show.

It's a very slow-paced, relaxing show. one I could definitely imagining putting on again if I just need to mellow out some.

While on the surface, a child living out, interested in the wild with a cute animal as her sidekick (though, to be fair, I think Twig is easily the cutest of this trope I have seen thus far). However, this show did exceed a lot of my expectations. I came in, expecting some sort of episodic show, but it actually has a very flowing narrative and a consistent world. I don't wish to spoil anything, but I will say it did surprise me a couple of times in the first thirteen episodes.

This goes double for the characters, who all feel very charming, unique and most of them very likable and believable.

All in all, I'd say it's charming enough to recommend, especially if you want to wind down for a while. Is it complex or mind-bending? No, but I don't believe it's not intending to be. It's a very simple yet intriguing, flowing and cute show, and I don't know how I could turn down that.
