If you can just relax and take the series for what it is, it's really enjoyable. I'll admit it gets pretty stupid at times, but its one of the best panty fighter anime series out there and probably the best panty fighter manga. The english translation is a bit off sometimes. I don't read fansubs so it's hard to judge how accurate it is. Sometimes it really seems to fit the humor of the story, but sometimes there are lines that just don't belong there. I've watched the anime as well, and the Japanese dub is a lot better than the English dub. Maybe the series as a whole is better in Japanese then, so I would recommend trying to find some direct translations that might be more serious if you don't think you'll like it. But I recommend it. Definitely not for rookie otaku, but if you like stuff like Kampfer, Queen's Blade, and maybe Agent AI Ka, and want some good laughs, I would recommend it. Do the manga first before you try the anime, and if you make it to the anime, do the Japanese sub.
