Solid effort with some wasted potentional.

Stasis is a lovingly-crafted adventure game. The atmosphere is oftentimes superb. The art direction for the environments is pretty impresive altough sometimes items were very difficult to identify from scenery, with character models not being as good and appearing like silhouettes. The sound design was actually pretty good, but the soundtrack was mostly umremarkable other than a couple ambiance tracks. Some environment interactions are inconsistent from room to room, and a few times a description threw me off.

Puzzles for the most part are logical and well designed, however due to lack of feedback and some accidental misleading the experience becomes more frustrating than it shoudl. One puzzle involved the combination of two items, but John says that is impossible instesd of maybe I need a surface to do it. Most puzzles make sense though and you could figure them on your own.

As for the writing, the game starts out pretty strong. You go in blind, explore the abandonned ship, and find logs that give you an idea of what happened. I will say there have been way too many logs it becomes overwheling, there no visual storytelling or the main character saying something that saves him from being blank whatsoever. Th other characters are not so much better anyway. This game is often times compared to that old adventure game Sanitarium, and funnily enough it is accurate, both stories have a solid half in tje story, but they become silly towards the end it just becomes weak. The game turns into a B-Movie with some absurd puzzles and a wierd yet obvious climax that happens too fast like the developer saying "I quit!". Due to adventure games relying on writing, this will leave a bad impression for some.

Overall, Stasis is a mostly enjoyable adventure games with a few flaws and a weak third arc that may make you dislike the game (You will probably find other adventure games that are done better and with more than half this game's price if you are willing to look, for example there is Dropsy). If you are a fan of sci-fi and adventure games I can say it is worth a shot, this game would be good for a sale. For a first game, Stasis is actually a good start for The Brotherhood, I can see them making something better and more interesting in the future, they even aknowledged the flaws and listening to feedback.
